Ian! Everytime...and I mean everytime you put out a video you convince me to get at least one book and in this video multiple. My wallet can't handle this type of abuse.

My friend Sharon put Mary on my TBR a while back and your review of Nestlings landed on my list and now I reckon Rest Stop is going too!

I hope you love them when you read them- I really think you would enjoy it based on what I know of your taste!

I loved Mary when I recently read it, and I am so hyped to read his other books. They sound so good.

I hope you love his others! Nestlings is somehow even better than Mary!

Great reviews! I’ll have to pick up one of his books.

You should!! It’s the perfect time to do it- though, I admit, they are good all year round. 😝

Oooh, I have only read Nestlings but that is one of my faves as well and I really want to read anything else he has ever written. Also, I think Nat Cassidy's author's notes are some of the best out there. Can't wait to read this new novella, even though it literally sounds like my claustrophobic nightmare come true lol

I LOVE to hear that!! Mary is a chilling one. If you are a fan of audiobooks, the audio version of this is excellent!

I don't hardly read spoopy stuff but the Rest Stop idea seems kinda silly but at the same time definitely not, especially having been in some unsettling gas stations before. I actually cleaned a rest area that was rather isolated where someone was murdered and I think that similar setting could do the trick (maybe it's been done before, idk). Either way, good vid!

I love the spoopy stuff!! Rest Stop is definitely a humorous concept. Nat Cassidy masterfully balances the funny with the terror, though! Thanks for watching!!

Cassidy is one of those writers that have original ideas , and knows how to pull you into a story. However he's not so good at finishing .His stories often tend to get chaotic halfway trough .. But that'just my opinion.

I can see why you might feel that way- his endings definitely are explosive. That being said, they have all worked for me, personally!

I’m very curious about these books, but I’m a wimp about foul language. Would you say that swearing is something that is prolific in these books?
I don’t read romance, but ppl talk about “clean” romance. Is there such a thing as “clean” horror?

    • @ianthereader

Unfortunately, there is definitely foul language in these. I think that horror especially is prone to this due to the extremity of the situations that the characters find themselves in. I’ll have to thinking on what if any clean horror I have read! I’ll get back to you!

@@ianthereader Thank you for considering my question. I’ve been scoffed before, “aren’t we all adults here?” But that doesn’t mean I want to read it. I did read No Exit by Taylor Adam’s. Maybe it is more suspense than horror, but it was a book I could “tolerate.” Thanks again!

I seem to remember Hidden Pictures by Jason Rekulak being clean!

I completely understand! I don’t use language myself and definitely appreciate your feelings on it.
I recently read a novel called “We Kept Her in the Cellar” that I don’t believe had any language or sexual content. Very dark at times and unnerving, but I think given its setting it was clean other than that. I have a review on my channel if you want to know about it!
