- Today's story recounts the feud in 1981 between the Quality Street gang and Paul Massey and Paul Doyles Salford's crew. What followed was a brutal feud that saw hefty sentences and hospitalised men #paulmassey #salford #truecrimeuk #CuriosSpiritual #truecrimestories #intriguingstories #pauldoyle #manchestercrime
I would really appreciate some critical feedback from my subs. I’m a novice editor but takes a lot of time research images and create audio. Any constructive criticism for next video welcome from the community ❤
Why do you make parallels between the king and queen and two mobs fighting?
Your videos are good and informative, the voiceover is always good also. It's obvious it takes lot of time to put them together. Keep doing your thing ✊🏻
All good mate
Love your videos but there's a bit of an echo on your voice. Don't know if that'd be remedied by a new mic or by recording in a smaller room, drawing the curtains etc?
I’ve noticed you have done a few vids on Salford do you have an email address I have some great ideas for you’re videos I’ve grew up in Salford and have some ideas ild like to put past you
The Krays never seemed to be off British rail. The whole country seemed to know what trains they were on, where they were going, and their time of arrival.......they were turned back more times than the winter clock.
They couldn't even read an underground map to take them across the river
😂 Exactly plus didn't Ronnie say in his book he didn't like travelling by train, had any number of people to drive em about@@grahamjonathan762
I’ve allways thought the same. i’m sure they could afford cars so why was they allways getting chased out train stations ?
Hahaha in it
Krays travelled everywhere by car, they never came to Manchester by train it’s an urban myth. Every old bloke in ever pub used to tell the story they were there. Freddie Foreman is on the record saying it was a myth.
Really enjoyed this one mate. The quality of your videos is on another level. The time taken to show photographs and articles of the people you’re discussing or the areas or features etc sets your channel apart and is appreciated mate.
I swear on my life too, I was going to ask if you had any stories about any Scottish lads! I’m a jock so was waiting for your next vid to ask hahah!
@JonMurray thankyou mate yes got lots I speak to Paul Ferris quite often I need catch up with him
@@enquirer2.0 nice one mate. Look forward to the videos too.
Phil Lynotts (of Thin Lizzy) Mum had a B&B, a shebeen and also ran the Whalley Pub right on the border of Moss Side and Whalley Range. The Quality Street Gang used to go for after hours after a night of grafting
and partying in the City Centre of Manchester. They used to get bevied up and have the crack and the odd scrap and that is what the song THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN is about by Thin Lizzy. They also sang about Jimmy the Weed who was one of the Enforcers of the QSG and the uncle of Ant & Chris Donnely of Gio Goi and Manchester Rave scene legends and party organisers who Dad is Arthur.
FACTS
Jimmy's sons are called Tony and Dominic
Her name was Philomena!
It wasn't the Whalley, it was the Clifton Grange on the corner of Alnes Road and Wellington Road
@@daver7551 had both as it says in my post ?
@@daver7551 Read my post again? Does it not mention the B&B ? She did have the pub too, I lived in Whalley Range….take it easy mate it’s not a competition and if it was you’d lose cos you’re wrong.
Thank you for this post.
That was a cracking deal from jimmy swords. But a wise one when you think about it. Billy Hill historically said “Murder’s for mugs” it brings too much attention and it’s handy to have a pack of wolves under your control once the lines have been drawn. “Bits of work” made me laugh 😂. I was a teenager growing up in an area similar to that. We didn’t steal from the local shops either they were all known to us by name they knew our parents and we knew their kids they were friends. But we filled our pockets when we went to town 😂 get back home and fence everything safely. The idea of stealing from your own never even entered our minds. In fact we would often sell them the gear 😂. But all those little independent shops don’t exist anymore to our detriment. Your content is bang on and you convey what it’s like to be working class from the environments like Moss side, places like Canning Town where your only chance of breaking free are to act up and create opportunities for yourself. That’s what we did back then. But it’s changed, different times now. You can’t actually fart 💨 without someone recording it on something’s 🤔
I thought as well clever move and also decades later was a move head doormen wud make to placate gangs. Look after the heads
You definitely get to know who’s who that way. As a doorman I never enjoyed hurting anyone and always tried to keep to reasonable force. But there’s always one and it’s never really the serious people because they reserve their wrath and rarely do anything too hideous in public. But there are those that need to make their presence felt no doubt about that generally the younger Bulls making a name for themselves. Once they’ve made their name they either do porridge or don’t get caught and thrive if the can keep themselves under control
Good video ben, seems to ne Doyle was a lucky man to get that sit down with the top man,I've seen similar situations here in Dublin that didn't end so well hope ur well ben best wishes regards Jay 👍 keep em coming pal
Thanks Jay yes mate sticky situation
Doyle had an army. If they had clipped him the others knew it would have been a mess. They wasn't scared, but knew it would be tit for tat for years
@@G.E.MTFC_ yep makes sense well said
Keep up the great work Ben 💪
Always interesting and well narrated. Thanks
Cheers Fella - Decent and pretty accurate apart from the Camilleri pronunciation 👍
Manchester Multi Millionaires don’t tend to get involved in street fights.
Also there were thousands of born n bread British, English indigenous Mancunians who built and worked the Manchester Docks with a lot of help from the Dutch as well as the Irish lads too.
A good angle would be to investigate the post I put about the Thin Lizzy song ‘ The Boys are back in town’ being about QSG.
It was QSG who turned them London lads around at Oxford Rd station on Manc City Centre.
Urban myth
@@denisjones3853 It’s an urban myth that it’s an urban myth. I don’t know what your sources are and I’ve got no reason to doubt your word, but I’ve got more reason to believe my old man and unless you was doing a 24/7 stakeout at the time, what you say is nothing more than speculation.
The whole QSG has been questioned as an urban myth and the song about them too, but we all know those urban myths aren’t true , this one isn’t either.
@billypower9679 the krays were met at picadilly Station by the police and warned that they were under close surveillance whilst they were in Manchester. After a night in the city during which the only incident was a doorman being punched by reggie kray they returned to London the next day. My source is Jimmy the Weed Donnely. Leading member of the QSG
plod told them they not wanted
@@denisjones3853 correct , not run out the station like every city seems to have done.
Quality content

Excellent vid mate 💪
That huge building at 7:16, I used to drive past in the 90’s, wasn’t there a motorbike shop there
Both gangs had members who worked with the 50 💯
Great stuff.
There were only 5 members QSG, and yes, I knew most
Paul doyle vs Jimmy swords would of been a good scrap on the cobbles they were both tough as boot leather
1:24 all manny boyz 2 me bud,nice 1 bud❤️🇬🇧💯 2:11
Great vlog mate . Growing up in wythenshawe these names and stories are correct. They didnt bring problems to there own doorstep. The working man was safe and respected as were the qsg. I met a couple as an adult and they were nice people tbh , obviously they were elderly by then but with a wry smile probably remembering the good old days 😊😊
They is some really hard men in Yorkshire you know would be good to hear afew tales about them instead of the same people who everyone knows.
I would love to hear send to me contact@enquirermedia.co.uk I have stories from my life stoke coming soon as well. Thank you for support
@@enquirer2.0 check out sr STUDIO got some good videos about some gangsters from Bradford but one I would look into would be jud Daniels who was a proper hard man who fought at applebye and was also a football lad who was a top fella in the Bradford ointment and gets a few mentions in the Bradford ointment book well known allover England
No1 really knows Jimmy swords everyone thinks qsg was ran by Jimmy the weed 😂 even tho he was just a joey
Jimmy swords and terry Adams were very close
Great book 1 punch doyle
Cheers craig . Just ordered.
1 punch Doyle was shook rkid face facts he got told and he knew to listen
@Unknownmanny22 lol worked for him maybe others should of listened, boxed clever
@@craigbauer9566 he was a very handy fella tho I give him that not many guys would have went up against qsg
Both gangs had members worked with the 50 💯
Rab Carruthers was a feared man and respected in Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds, before he started dabbling in his own supply and died a poor figure
I don’t remember this I wasn’t there so how could I
I was still in school that time in Ireland, lol lived in Manchester and London in the 90s
Jimmy the weed a legend in his own mind 😂😂
Jimmy swords was main qsg Jimmy weed was just a joey
All good lads
What a fantastic voice
So who was the gang behind the Massey shooting and has there been any repercussions?
Very complicated that situation
@DanLn1 thought it was the anti a team
@@enquirer2.0 can you not do a video on it or is it actually not out there ?
@DanLn1 they a big firm? Any one done any videos on them?
Salford is a totally different place from Manchester. For example Man United are not actually in Manchester…. Nuff said. Paul Doyle has a great interview with James English, if ya ain’t seen it? I recommend it peeps.
Man United isn't in Salford though. It's in Old Trafford hence the name. Salford is on the other side of Trafford Road Bridge.
Salford flapped it from qsg 😂 and they still flap it to this day don’t let them fool u
@@Unknownmanny22 yeah right. Salford are still far above anyone else in Manchester.
@@naikhanomtom7552 maybe nowadays but not in the 80s or 90s or early 2000s obviously salfords so big because it was connected to the biggest gangs then Salford took over if u know u know if u don’t get to know
@@naikhanomtom7552 qsg walked away once they all started having gangland wars over drugs they already made the money and it was bringing two much unwanted attention
R.I.P Paul,R.I.P matty🙏🏻🙏🏻
National service coming innitt ,innitt ,
I was around Ancoats with Jimmy and Joey and i never heard of the salford people mentioned here? I knew all the guys..i fixed the cars in Ancoats..the rubbish i hear on TH-cam compared to the real stories is worlds apart..the Ancoats crew was serious and also funny😂 i also knew Mick the beast..now he was one terrifying character! I might write a book as i got tons of stories..i also was an entertainer and sang at The Weeds Senitor club..ive seen it all..hard times but real men with fists not the tossers around these days..back then it was about respect
07:10. That's the Pendleton Co-Op building in Salford; I drive past it goin' home from work.
So the images you're using are correct in regarding the subject matter.
Further up, take a left and drive a little bit more, you're be at Agecroft Cemmy where Giant Haystacks (last video) is buried. Forest Bank prison is a little further up.
RIP Paul Massey GBNF there's a heaven for a G Paul god bless
Guy on thr right looks like MJF
Once again great video
You know I'm blind and these videos keep me going I've completed porn hub and boxing and MMA on you tube so these are my main watches I think I've watched everything about five times each thanks for the consistency of great videos
My pleasure mate glad u enjoy
Pete parish pornhub ? Is that why you lost your sight our kid ?
Am I reading that right?
Completed Porn Hub?
Quality
I know Paul met him in prison a decent man
Think crays would have smashed qsg in my opinion if came down to it
Qsg actually made some money though which is the name of the game really.
No chance, everyone knew where to find every member of the Krays firm, they were celebrity gangsters. Nobody even knew who the QSG were at the time. Only their pals knew who was and wasn’t a member.
Let’s be honest both had to be high levels to get to where they did . Anno now people slag krays but still powerful as in there day as there Quailty street lads think advantage they had was learning from mistakes and using the modern technology to become more powerful and wealthy
The krays got sent packing lad
Pair of puffs
revered ? another good listen mate ta
I'm not perfect just a council lad not got best pronunciation of some words
Every town says that about the krays ffs
They wouldn't have lasted 5 mins in the East end of London or any other part of London
@@chucky2316the yardies, Albanians and many others took over London less so up North
Yeah, it's all nonsense. Old men talking in pubs, repeating the same story.
