"North to the ocean, hotter than the sun" is the kind of line that nobody in the Northern Hemisphere would ever think of writing. The oceans north of the US, Canada, Western Europe, Russia: all cold as hell. North of South America you get the Caribbean, north of Africa you get the Mediterranean: warm to be sure, maybe not scorching. But in Oz, one's getting closer to the equator by going north. So for this Yank hearing this track way back in the day, that sense of the world literally being flipped on its head while a band is pouring their hearts out was all it took. Glad these lads had success at home, because it eluded them in my part of the world, and that was a crime.
+Curtis Hartland.......Hi Curtis, yes I do know of Pete. I must be honest though, one of my adult sons introduced me to him and I'm not terribly familiar with his work but what I have heard is good. You seem to like Aussie music, good for you. Being older, I loved the earlier (overseas) music (Blues/Rock/Folk) but the '80's here saw some of the best bands here. The wonderful Midnight Oil, Divinyls, Hunters, oh there were many. Do you like Paul Kelly? He's another good Aussie storyteller. Cheers.
Is this gonna be an Aussie cricketing Song now or was it before the marketing Campaign too, watch live matches this Summer Border Gavaskar Trophy it's Winter for Indians, watching Women's Ashes with the craze, a hard fight for marketing guys.
+Curtis Hartland..........Hi Curtis, these guys often played nearby back in the day, they were a sensational live act. Mark had a very commanding presence on stage, very tall, well-built man, shaved head (he was almost scary) but they rocked! I LOVE this track but hadn't visited here in a while, I see what you mean about the views! I have to say I wasn't mad on the more commercial numbers, Holy Grail etc. (too much AirPlay) but they had many fine numbers such as this and I too find the tally for such a great song very disappointing. If ONLY we had bands like this now! Cheers.
The Cds from the 90's are still in great condition, I've played them over and over constantly for year's. My cousin introduced me to them, and it's greatly appreciated
Linda do you mean Midnight Oil. Peter Garrett of Midnight Oil was very tall (193 cm) and no hair while Mark Seymour of Hunters and Collectors is 182 cm and has quite a bit of hair.
HOPE has an oven and refrigerator to wipe down hahaha 🤣 ahh another task hahaha 🤣 before this as he's going out to just breath in the cool autumn air hahaha 🤣🤣🤣
Flaming underrated on TH-cam as possible for one of the most outstanding band's in Australian History
....I don't think any good band is under rated , good speaks for it self
@@DonQuixote-r5b if I didn't own most of Their work it would have q lot more play's that's a certain
I concur. The best live band I’ve ever seen

I came digging into the members of Crowded House. I found a cool band 😏
Was this released 1988? I was in year 11 or 12 and played this album to death on my Walkman and at home.
