You find yourself cheering for the demolition. "Yeah, that's it. Just pull the whole damn thing OUT. That's it. Now throw all that crap away." Gotta love it. You guys did great work.
The original seat cover material under the other seat cover that you cut off, is called herculon . Popular in the 70’s and 80’s and puncture resistant 😮. The brown plaid pattern was very in then.
Thanks for another great video. I just started watching you guys and I liked you immediately. I'm nearing completion of my own American RV renovation over here in England. There will be times when you will doubt your sanity but you will get there and it will be great! Very best wishes!🙂
We're already starting to doubt our sanity a bit, lol. We have renovated houses in the past and I know what you mean about reaching that point of questioning whether it'll ever come together. How long have you been working on yours?
i don't envy you in the least i did a 10' pickup camper and a 30' boat. in both cases i found very strange construction builds, nothing was "standard" everything had to be built in place in both cases i demoed in one day and after several weeks i was able to take them on short trips and work around the mess. i wish you the best of luck and hope that you have enjoyable times in your finished project don't worry about how long it takes worry more about the budget. happy travels.
Thanks for watching and for the comment! We're having fun so far but we still have a long way to go! I hope you subscribe and follow along on the project. Maybe you can give us a pointer or two along the way :-)
The absolute best way to remove items such as what is being done in the bathroom is to take one of those lawn and leaf bags. Put your arm inside of it and gather it up all-in-one grab and pull the bag out that way you're not wasting a pair of gloves. You're not having a look at what you're doing and it conceals the smell slightly, which means you can pick it up in one fail swoop and then move in for the fine detail cleaning! I worked for a property management company in mount clemens for about three and a half years and dealt with just such issues as these exact same ones! Maybe next time when you get a situation such as this, you might take this suggestion. Good luck!
The fabric on the sofa cushions dates back to the 7O and was pretty much indestructible. My ex was an upholsterer this one lady in the late 90s had a sofa and two chairs covered in that material and it still looked brand new . She wiped down her couch and chairs with 409 on a damp cloth about one a month .
Thanks, Brian! We had an amazing Scotland trip planned but had to cancel when Covid came :-( We're still hoping to make it there someday! Thanks for watching the channel, please subscribe so you don't miss any of the action!
That was a horrible job there to do. Who in their right mind throws stuff like you found in the bathroom gross. I think I would be redoing the hole bathroom sorry that was gross can't wait to see more good luck hope everything goes well for you guys.
YES! We definitely plan to redo the whole bathroom. That plastic surround is in pretty good shape under all that mess (we think) but we're planning to put a new coat of epoxy on it, new faucet and shower, and new toilet! Thanks for the comment and for watching :-)
@@retrorevivals I love watching these kind of videos. I'm to old now to try something like that and I have to many health issues but I love watching to see the renovation on them to see how they come out. You guy's are doing a great job and honesty I can't wait to see the finished project. Good luck and God Bless You All.
Hi Dorothy, we did measure the cushions before we tossed them. Now, I think we'll end up changing the floor plan so we wouldn't need the same sizes anyway. Thanks for watching! Check out the new video we just posted 😁
Hey! Cool project! Curious if you guys have taken it to a mechanic? I ended up spending a ton of money on my vintage rv mechanically. She'd run but she had a ton of problems that didn't come to surface until she was being used.
Hey Crystal, thanks for the comment! We will do some work to the engine but, being almost 50 years old, we're anticipating problems once we start to use it. It's part of the adventure, right??? Lol! Hope you subscribe to follow along with our renovation :-)
Wow. Wet diapers? Really? 🤢🤢🤢 How does that even happen? The two fabrics you talk about on the cushions are Herculon (the plaid) and Antron (the floral and scenery). Really big in the 60s to early 80s. They are essentially polyester and their spiritual successor is of course the “microfiber” that we have today. Can’t wait to binge the rest of your videos! Subscribed!
Thank you so much for the comment! We never knew those fabrics had a name before. I actually saved and thoroughly and repeatedly washed some of the Antron to try to make a couch pillow to keep some of the original charm... Plus, or reminds me of my grandparents ❤️ That's a surprise for a future video though so it'll be our secret. Thanks for watching!
We’re looking at a similar vintage motor home this week for a project, and it will probably be in about the same shape as yours.😃 We’re looking forward to following along here.
don't try to change the layout they can fit 10 pounds of stuff in a 5 pounds bag, if it was built with 1x stock use 1x again with glue and 1/8 ply,I fun with ita 14 ft camper and used 24 sheets of 1/8 birch ply. And by all means have fun !
Thanks, Keith! We've been debating on whether to change the layout. I like the idea of the bathroom in the back instead of right behind the driver but I think it might make more sense to leave it where it is. We might move the kitchen though to make a bigger "living room"! I hope you subscribe to the channel and give us some more tips along the way!
Yes it was nasty lol, we picked it up for 500 bucks in July of 2021 never opened any of the lower cabinets on it, don't know if I would have bought it if I seen under the sink that day lol. drove it home and parked it, didn't clean ours out until November it reeked, and also smelled like someone dumped a 5 gallon gas can up front.
You should check out sleeperdude channel on TH-cam. I believe they have the same Dodge motor home as you do. They are rebuilding it . I believe you will enjoy. Peace and love. 🙏✌️😁
Yes, we love Sleeperdude and just watched one of his motorhome videos last night. Too bad we don't have goats anymore to help out like Rocky helps them :-)
See I could never clean that bathroom not a chance I throw up changing a baby, luckily my wife has been a hospital cleaner for years and that would not even faze her for a moment.
It takes a special kind of person to do that type of work. We somehow managed to make it through the demo but the smells might be etched in our brains for awhile! Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
You know, the first few shots of the bathroom sink, to me looked like some curtains were removed, and placed in the sink. No big deal, right? Then, as you were removing it, It started to sink in that it was not curtains. Then, you actualy SAID, diapers. How discusting.
I wanted to throw up just watching I can't imagine actually being there and doing the work. You guys are amazing.
Thanks, John! It was pretty crazy. We still need to get the toilet out of there, stay tuned!
For the vent of the fan normaly there is a latch outside to unlock it
Yes, thank you! We found those latches afterward. We appreciate the comment and hope you keep watching!

Great information! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Speaking of the Clearwater area, I always stayed at the Beachview Inn. She's an oldie but a goodie.
Our go-to lately has been the Palm Pavilion. I hope that area can recover soon from the hurricanes!
I enjoy your videos ✌️🙏😁
Glad you like them!
Nice! Keep it up
Thanks, Nick :-)
24:37 There are two tabs on the outside that you have turn to open the vent.
Yes, thank you! We found those later!

Those vent flaps are spring loaded and open when you turn the oven vent on!
That's a neat feature. Thanks for the info 😁

cant imagine the smells in there
It is truly one of those things you have to experience first hand to believe it 😜

You should of saved cushions for measurements to make new ones

🥳🥳🥳
Just think of all of the"added value" not including your time. I would bet that someone could liv in this as a full time home
It's definitely a lot of work! We're hoping that it will have a cozy tiny-home feel when it's finished. Thanks for watching!

What is up with all these old motorhomes with diapers lol, when i cleaned up my 84 coachmen i found them underneath the kitchen sink 🤢
At least it's not just us, lol! Were yours used like ours were? It's so crazy.

Sharing everyone of Jesus Christ, He is coming back. We are spiritually saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ our Lord God and Savior .
Thank you.
Amen!
Why are we always finding the grossest things in these 70s campers def would be surprised to find one that doesn’t .
Agreed! They are forgotten time capsules. Some are in good shape, others not so much 😬.
Safety goggles and respirators
You're right! We got carried away. We'll do better next time 😉

Mind blowing, really, lol! Thanks for watching, Mark :-)
