My only true disagreement with this list is not talking about just Menasor by himself with the Stunticons. Because a good amount of people, even people I know, don't give a shit about the individual limbs and just care about the combiner.
This format works way better than Whats The Best. I’d say you should make more of these types of videos when trying to dictate if a toy is good against other toys rather than character vs same character.
Transmetal 2 Megatron when I got it was definitely the best figure from the year, especially since the joint tolerances were perfect for once. Then I realized the transformation wasn't working, because they had assembled his shoulder backwards on my copy. It was easy to fix, but I still think about that every time I see him.
I liked Elita-1 for what she was, a perfectly fine car lady that didn't wear the car as a backpack. I also thought it was a decent to good reinvention of the character. I don't need it a second or third time, but I like her enough to say I was happy with it and got enjoyment from the figure. Laser Prime I did buy all three versions and I'm still holding out for Magnus and Movie Prime colours as it at least feels more complete than Reveal the Shield Laser Prime. You can't stop me, I will buy that toy 5 times and still not be satisfied because the 90s toy is better. I need to buy the Takara Reissue of Laser Prime...
I actually have a tip for making kingdom rodimus look decent. Basically you have to take all of the kibble off, rotate the backpack, and put the windshield on his back, both halves splits and at an angle facing away from each other.
I Bought armada starscream, he’s an interesting figure. The QC in the thigh swivels and waist swivel are garbage (legacy wave 3 QC moment 💀) but he’s still a fun figure and he’s next to my legacy united cybertron hotshot right now as I’m writing this.
i remember wave 1 coming out and NOT being impressed as the first i saw was skids and i did not like him. but there was some absolute curveballs in the line .G2 Jhiaxus blew me away, i never thought we'd get one of those and this was the line that got me started on core class figs to populate my titans. that iguanus is great ! all in all the last 3yrs of figs have been some of the strongest ever. right now im this close to finishing off the leader dinobots who scale wise are just amazing.
I got Dragon Megatron like under a week ago and I have been having the MOST fun fiddling with him. He's fun to pose, engaging to transform, and now I also have a fire blast effect to use with Legacy Sideburn. Idk if he actually has flamethrower abilities but man it's just so silly I have to
Galvatron's Shoulders weren't universal and at this point there have been more with the correct ones than with the bad ones. Pluss I have ones with the wrong shoulders and it doesn't bother me much, It's very dealwithable. The Nullrays are stupid, but I don't think something that would have deeply influenced how I would have rated the figure.
Perspective I have an idea to fix the arm problem of the gamer edition. The hand goes inside the arm (similar to the transformation of other figures). And you have two options for the guns. One for over the arm and it clicks into the stud of the hand. Or a normal one for the hand.
I like the idea of this since most of these are available for dirt cheap now. I hate the idea that chugs should be bought en masse with no thought since I've seen photos of hundreds of toys that are likely touched once a year. Buy good stuff you'll use.
I already not only have every figure on this list, I have multiples of some of them because I have two full sets of Menasor, one set to stay in combined mode, and one set to stay separate. I love all of the figures from year one of Legacy, just not necessarily equally.
I’m extremely happy with Tarantulas, he such a fun figure to handle. I also don’t mind Knockout as a figure, even if the robot mode has…. Zero resemblance to the show model
I’m so glad I waited to see if the other Stunticons were any good before getting Motormaster, especially since Dragstrip is the only one I really care about anyways
I ended up with 2 copies of Flamewar and I think the Legarcee mold is ok. Nothing impressive by any metric but the black and red look solid and it’s always nice to get an obscure character. On an unrelated note, if you’re in the market of a Flamewar I know someone who might be able to hook you up.
This idea is pretty good, but I think that for future lines, i think creating some sort of graphic (like a tier list) would be helpful. I also think that knowing the criteria you are using as a grade to also be a worthy addition. For something like g2 core megatron you said the the mold was good but you didn’t like the colors overall leading to a pass. I think maybe something like “good mold if you like the colors regular recommend but if like myself you hate it, it looks worse in person skip and get the original”
I would've bought core shockwave, but for some reason he just never appeared in my area. Instead, I managed to find his combiner wars figure in a retro shop, and he's honestly pretty good
Hey perspective ! im hoping you can do a buy recommendation video sometime soon as i see that your lastest video was a few months ago and i really value your objectively correct opinion on figures and which to buy , especially with all of these figures that have realesed , please and thanks ! (p.s in the chance you see this and don't know what the criteria is , any size scale / price except masterpiece, thanks ! )
@PerspectiveEnd Thank you ! and while I have you maybe if the universe for once agreed with you , hasbro put back in stock both seige jetfire and PotP Optimus and having seen most of your videos (including that specific video) Thank you so much for hooking me on some dope figures can't wait to mess with them !
Just so you know, the kingdom hot rod is also a repackaging of the kingdom. Both him and blaster were pushed forwards into kingdom and then released in legacy.
First of all, this is an amazing format idea, hope you continue covering the next years of legacy and potentially future lines to come. What sucks absolute ass is that I NEVER, EVER saw a legacy figure in person. Apparently we’re not goof enough to get recent figures. Apparently, here in Italy at least, Hasbro distribution sucks so hard that transformers toys are REALLY hard to find, you’re lucky if you even see a tf figure, nevertheless one of the newer ones. And to add insult to injury the only figures the nearest toy-ish store were some Rotb weaponizers and ERCEE. So I pretty much gave up on getting figures locally. ( And even if I did my tf collection isn’t that big it’s like 2 figures from CW and TLK each and the Bumblebee and starscream reactivate two pack. Plus an mpm4 ko I absolutely love. Mostly stuff I got as an 8yo way back when but the stuff I got recently has been a pleasant re-entry into this franchise at least.)
About Leader Blitzwing- after seeing how FansToys’ mold actually turned out, I think we should be a little forgiving of the alt modes. I think the jet is quite good and the tank “ain’t bad”. Of course the robot mode is very good, so I’d consider it a buy, IMO of course.
I got a crankcase. I love how the robot mode looks, but unfortunately I can never transform him. One of the wheels under his foot keeps popping off because theres too much excess plastic inside the hole forcing the wheel out. Over all the QC is so bad it feels like something is gonna break so I just keep him in robot mode
@PerspectiveEnd tried that. It sort of fixed it. It still doesn't really wanna sit in there like it's supposed to, but it doesn't pop out as much anymore
I've actually had to pick and choose what I've gotten most of the year as Ive started a new collectiing journey this year and NECA stuff ain't cheap. Especially when ALL of the cartoon TMNT stuff is multi packs excluding the stuff in VHS style boxes.i think I only got 2 commanders. Skipped Menasor, all the Core dudes except Soundwave. Ignored the multi packs. I did buy everything Armada. Tidal Wave is the only Titan I got this is go round.
This is a fantastic idea, a rundown of deciding "yes" or "no" on which Transformers figures are great and which ones are unfortunately terrible, it will save time and money for collectors!! Bravo PerspectiveEnd!!! 😎👍
I bought Legacee at the start of me getting back into Transformers collecting, so used that up. As for the Laser Prime mold, there is one who interests me, one I failed to get while I could: Scourge.
9:40 guess I got struck at one time in my life, TWICE. Because I got mine second hand with horrid paint chipping so I think that a little kid had it before me and both legs still work fine
I like to think that Scourge is just a title and boat Scourge's real name is Marius, dragon Scourge's real name is Pyrosaurus, and truck Scourge's real name is Blacktron. Earthspark Deluxe Elita is just a retool of the Warrior class one. WHICH IS REALLY AWFUL SINCE SHE DOESN'T HAVE A THIGH SWIVEL. Why are you saying that Legacy Elita is bad? I think she's a great step in the right direction WHICH LEGACY WINDBLADE ISN'T TAKING. Was Legacy Armada Starscream with perfect QC a buy? I got him for like 27 bucks too. I bought 86 Scourge for 18 bucks. And I love him. Do you think G1 Scourge is a good rival for Seaspray? I want to make Scourge an aquatic Transformer. Should I get Legacy Menasor with Combiner Wars legs (I don't mind Dead End's issues), wait for a new Menasor, or just buy Animated Motormaster, a future Prime Breakdown, and Legacy Dragstrip and never have Menasor? In what order should I buy these? I need more villains, but my Autobot roster's nowhere near complete either. Decepticons: -Legacy Dragstrip $21 -Siege Flywheels $17 Autobots: -Kingdom Inferno $27 -Kingdom Pipes $19 -Kingdom Tigatron $13 -Takara TR Blurr $22 -Deluxe WFC game Optimus $22 Neutral (good): -ROTB Mainline Airazor $11 Neutral(evil): -POTP HunGurr $11 -POTP Blot $23 -POTP Rippersnapper $14
What boat? I don't even know what warrior class is. She's just not a ton of fun, and the face is terrifying. Yes he'd be a buy with Perfect QC. Nice, Scourge is a really solid figure. I feel like he's a bit out of Seasprays league. That can work, it looks a little disproportional but not terribly so. If you want a combiner a non combiner wont fix that itch. Go for Siege Flywheels I'd say Kingdom Tigatron and Deluxe WFC game Optimus are the best values there. All the PotP figures are worth that money, so if you want those guys go for em too.
Legacy Galvatron and Soundwave definitely improve upon the past by ditching the battle damage. The only reason I can think to pass on them is if you already have the Selects Galvatron in toy colors or waited for "Leader" Soundwave.
After watching this I had to check my Armada Starscreams legs. Without forcing it I could not get either of the legs to pop off. Big win for me I guess?
I got lucky with my armada starscream, watched the review you made a while after i got and was worrying a bunch, but up till niw no legs have fallen off.
The Jihaxus is nearly half-off everywhere. It's such a weird, wonderful action figure, it's fun for that alone. Man, I get very apathetic very quickly when the alt mode is merely "meh."
This concept is so cool, I'm going to list ever 2024 Studio Series figure that I have and if they should be a buy: Core TLK Mohawk: a buy. Surprisingly fantastic for what film he came from. I would love to see either this guy or SS ROTB Arcee as an Earthspark Thrash Core Concept Rumble (also counts Frenzy): not buy unless you like any of their colours due to being tied into a terrible Soundwave who takes One's Snowspeeder-esque alt mode and ruins it. Deluxe ROTB Scorponok: buy. A screen accurate beast mode, though not colour accurate, and a fun robot mode that reminds me a lot of Poppy Playtime's Catnap in the best way possible. Deluxe ROTB Wheeljack: stay the hell away from this creature. If you really need an ROTB Pablo, just get the Jada Toys van and the mainline. Deluxe Concept Sunstreaker: buy. Not a figure I enjoyed, but not bad. Also the alt mode is cool. Deluxe GAMER EDITION Sideswipe: buy. A fun deluxe, but not perfect. Still better than the Jazz retool from the old toyline. Deluxe 86 Dead Brawn: don't buy unless you think the concept is fun or you need this guy but don't care that it's not the living version Deluxe 86 Bumblebee: buy. This guy is the perfect redemption arc for it's Japanese designer after he made the ER Cliffjumper. Deluxe ONE Optimus: I love this guy. He's better than the mainline for the most part, and a solid deluxe on his own. Deluxe GAMER EDITION Reactivate Bumblebee: buy in the 2-pack unless it's unavailable anywhere else. I wish he wasn't in this toyline, but he's still a fantastic figure. Voyager 86 Junkheap: buy. He may be a nothing character, but he's still the fantastic 86 Junkion mold. Voyager 86 Blaster: buy. It's the same as the Kingdom figure, but made with solid plastic. Eject is better and Blaster is on par with the Kingdom and Legacy releases. Voyager GAMER EDITION Starscream: buy. He may have a wide cockpit, but the transformation is still fun. Voyager BB Shockwave: buy when a shoulder upgrade kit is made. A great figure ruined by the lack of a standard joint that they didn't need to remove. Voyager 86 Dead Ratchet: see 86 Dead Brawn. Leader Concept Megatron: buy. He may have flawed alt modes, but they're not done to be accurate to a cartoon whilst still failing at it (Blitzwing), and the gun fan-mode is fun. Also the Robot Mode is fantastic.
I'm a huge Hot Rod simp, and I'll buy any G1 Hot Rod even if it's bad. I've discovered that one of the secrets to appreciating that Core class figure is to forget that it's Hot Rod, and pretend it's a generic nameless guy. The other secret is in the removable spoiler. If you unplug the spoiler from his back and place it in his hand in a certain way, it kinda-sorta resembles a shield which goes nicely with the sword. It's still a very mid transformer; but how often do you see one with a sword and shield?
Not much to add. Legacy was what I expected overall: a big toy box where you tossed in the other continuities of Transformers only this time they are the same size/roughly in scale. That was the big thing for me. From Beast Wars to Prime, deluxe class was all over the place. Bulkhead I give more grace than the others. He's doing double duty in Prime and Animated. This seemed like the best split the difference. Elita-1 and all the fembot remolds, it reminds me of the Homer from that 1 Simpsons episode. I imagine a Hasbro exec screaming 'I'm ruined!' in Danny Devito's voice. Arcee: I don't know why they can't refresh the mold from Prime and use that design. I'd have bought 7-8 cycles of that mold. But it's as you said, buy the one in the color you like.
I did bought jhiaxus a year ago And I noticed that figure got issues And it's not the looks this is a very Is controversial opinion But I don't like that figure That figure have q c issues the plastic feel cheap Has loose joints, especially from the head. And few pieces feels like they're going to break in any second And the alt mode im just Not feeling it. The Robot mode And the Posability is probably the best part about the figure But I really wanted to like jhiaxus But with those QC issues i just don't so im sorry it could be mines idk
I hate to say it but it was not. THE VAST majority of people I have talked to have had this issue. For every 1 person like you who confirms theirs is fine, I've easily talked to 20 people who say theirs leg falls off. I mean that without any hyperbole. I even talked to a guy in VC who said his didn't have the problem went to prove it and had the leg fall off.
Hopefully the next prime line can better balance the line, deluxes as legacy are hit or miss, voyagers are good with a few rough spots, Leaders kinda the same most good some blitzwing. There are some rumoured characters in the line that really need solid figures
I think Elita One is a good figure and represents her G1 form very well and as for the laser g2 Optimus Prime I have the Nemesis Prime legacy and the Target exclusive version with Bullseye but it’s a pass on laser Optimus Prime unless I can get him cheap

He's transforms into a train right? 7:43 I like the pretenders. 7:55 he's cool. 8:05 he's cool too. 8:26 no I like him. 8:55 why the hate? 9:10 I've never had a BW Inferno. 9:26 some more retooling. 9:47 I love this version too.
That is a SAVAGE number of Time Stamps you've thrown at me.
That is the Energon variant of Metroplex he turns into like an excavator truck and is the lead construction worker like the boss or foreman.
My only true disagreement with this list is not talking about just Menasor by himself with the Stunticons. Because a good amount of people, even people I know, don't give a shit about the individual limbs and just care about the combiner.
Thanks for the list. I love the concept.
I’ve been binge watching some of your reviews and i realized you’d make a solid voice actor for Deadpool lol
I might be able to pull that at least a little.

Idk if he actually has flamethrower abilities but man it's just so silly I have to
Core Skywarp not having his null rays and Kingdom Galvatrons shoulder misassembly I'd say are things worth noting
I do miss when my collection was smaller and I could actually interact with a lot more of it.
9:32 I actually rolled that dice, and luckily for me, both legs are ok, neither have fallen off in the year or so I've had it
I like Armada Starscreams look, and I got lucky on my rng and got the good hips version. Had him almost a year and haven't had any issues.
I would've bought core shockwave, but for some reason he just never appeared in my area. Instead, I managed to find his combiner wars figure in a retro shop, and he's honestly pretty good
I would recommend Motormaster. If you don't want him combining with the Stunticons, he would be worth it by himself to have a super mode.
Hey perspective ! im hoping you can do a buy recommendation video sometime soon as i see that your lastest video was a few months ago and i really value your objectively correct opinion on figures and which to buy , especially with all of these figures that have realesed , please and thanks !
(p.s in the chance you see this and don't know what the criteria is , any size scale / price except masterpiece, thanks ! )
@@_HON3Y_13_ I wouldn't call myself objectively correct. I'm just trying my best here. And yeah I'll see what I can cook up in that vein.
@@_HON3Y_13_ I just hope you continue to think that they're dope when you actually do mess with them.
I bought iguanas cuz of this review for 5 bucks at a comic shop and I'm not disappointed it is a good core class figure
I'm sorry to hear that. Can you just cut out the excess plastic in the hole?
To be fair in knock out’s case, he’s absolutely someone who would sacrifice their bot mode to make the car better
This is a fantastic idea, a rundown of deciding "yes" or "no" on which Transformers figures are great and which ones are unfortunately terrible, it will save time and money for collectors!! Bravo PerspectiveEnd!!! 😎👍
I was one of the lucky few who have an armada starscream with no leg problems and perfect tolerances. A rare breed indeed.
Should I get Legacy Menasor with Combiner Wars legs (I don't mind Dead End's issues),
wait for a new Menasor,
or just buy Animated Motormaster, a future Prime Breakdown, and Legacy Dragstrip and never have Menasor?
In what order should I buy these? I need more villains, but my Autobot roster's nowhere near complete either.
Decepticons:
-Legacy Dragstrip $21
-Siege Flywheels $17
Autobots:
-Kingdom Inferno $27
-Kingdom Pipes $19
-Kingdom Tigatron $13
-Takara TR Blurr $22
-Deluxe WFC game Optimus $22
Neutral (good):
-ROTB Mainline Airazor $11
Neutral(evil):
-POTP HunGurr $11
-POTP Blot $23
-POTP Rippersnapper $14
Go for Siege Flywheels
I'd say Kingdom Tigatron and Deluxe WFC game Optimus are the best values there.
All the PotP figures are worth that money, so if you want those guys go for em too.
You sleeping on the skids mold it’s amazing
I gave it a good ranking.
"piss cycle"?! oh my god thats a perfect name, that's friggin hilarious
I don't know what they were thinking with that colorscheme.
Megatron bought, can confirm it is the best leader if all time.
It does some major mass shifting when it gets into dragon mode.
Man i wish they would do gs blue dragon cryotek. It would be so amazing in that new mold.
3:43 he looks good like this though. It's like a mix between Prime Bulkhead and Bayverse Hound
There's a skullgrin at my local target that hasn't sold since wave 1 because it has 1 of his horns missing. And it isn't even discounted 😆
3:31 i'll never forgive whoever stole the right shoulder wheel from my copy
WHAT
Truly a person with out heart or conscience.
Alternate title
“A good buy or say good bye”
I bought Armada Starscream before ei knew about QC issues. I got the 5% luck, thankfully
I have all 3 of the core figs and combined the weapons, I'm calling it the Immobilizer.
The Jihaxus is nearly half-off everywhere. It's such a weird, wonderful action figure, it's fun for that alone. Man, I get very apathetic very quickly when the alt mode is merely "meh."
Foc prime has bad knees, but hes a fun sized prime with an addicting transformation.
Apparently I was struck by lightning because my armada starscreams legs actually stay on
This concept is so cool, I'm going to list ever 2024 Studio Series figure that I have and if they should be a buy:
Core TLK Mohawk: a buy. Surprisingly fantastic for what film he came from. I would love to see either this guy or SS ROTB Arcee as an Earthspark Thrash
Core Concept Rumble (also counts Frenzy): not buy unless you like any of their colours due to being tied into a terrible Soundwave who takes One's Snowspeeder-esque alt mode and ruins it.
Deluxe 86 Dead Brawn: don't buy unless you think the concept is fun or you need this guy but don't care that it's not the living version
Deluxe 86 Bumblebee: buy.
7:34 as someone who has this metroplex, *buy*. He is AMAZING
I just bought MMC bruticus and I was wondering if you would ever do a video on him?
I have. In the long long ago.
th-cam.com/video/2NdT4ScEBjs/w-d-xo.html
So my legacy Armada star scream has no problems with the legs
Either you got a truly rare type of copy, or they eventually fixed the issue with one of their later runs.
Apparently I'm part of the 5% with Armada Starscream and I've never realized 😂
I've never had his hips pop off and if I ever did it was my own fault
I'm a huge Hot Rod simp, and I'll buy any G1 Hot Rod even if it's bad. I've discovered that one of the secrets to appreciating that Core class figure is to forget that it's Hot Rod, and pretend it's a generic nameless guy. The other secret is in the removable spoiler. If you unplug the spoiler from his back and place it in his hand in a certain way, it kinda-sorta resembles a shield which goes nicely with the sword. It's still a very mid transformer; but how often do you see one with a sword and shield?
Legacy Matroplex is amazing tbh
Since making this video a few people have messaged me that.
0:43 Damn, had to replay it to hear properly 💀
Legacy (Year One) is pretty worth it in my eyes, wave 2 felt like the strongest in the line. I loved the majority of the deluxes and voyagers.
9:26 I hate to say it, but Armada Starscream was just your personal figure having really bad qc, mine is perfectly fine.
@@PerspectiveEnd Then I guess I got lucky then with my copy
The good copies exist, like you got but I just don't trust the figure enough to tell people to buy it when odds are they won't get one.
I wanted to you ranting about Pointblank... You did not disappoint! 🤣🤣🤣
So glad I returned my laser prime mold, I hate the shoulders so much
5:58 well you can just buy him, keep him in his alt mode and get the RED Knockout for a more show accurate design
Hopefully the next prime line can better balance the line, deluxes as legacy are hit or miss, voyagers are good with a few rough spots, Leaders kinda the same most good some blitzwing. There are some rumoured characters in the line that really need solid figures
Perspooktive since you don’t plan on finishing menasor can we expect a review on the combined mode
Honestly I think transmetal 2 beast war megatron may be the best legacy og leader mold form the whole lines so far
9:25 Im glad i got one of the last 5. My starscream doesn't have that issue.
I think Elita One is a good figure and represents her G1 form very well and as for the laser g2 Optimus Prime I have the Nemesis Prime legacy and the Target exclusive version with Bullseye but it’s a pass on laser Optimus Prime unless I can get him cheap
