I’m still in love with my 330e. Closing on 180000km. I got 2017 m sport model, once you service it regularly and let it warm up before going too fast it’s amazing. The batteries do degrade I’m only able to do about 25km on batteries alone. I have full custom exhaust from turbo back and had the car remapped and dynoed. 372 horsepower and just under 700 torque on wheels. Sliding/drifting/burnouts 0 problems, a lot of problems with wheel spin as living in Ireland it’s nearly always wet. The best thing for me is that it accelerates at the same rate no matter if you doing 20 or 200 km/h. And it loves country roads, yes it’s not as nimble as my friends petrol version but once you go out of corner it leaves everything behind.
How do you warm up before going fast? Mine starts in electric then jump to 3k rpm. Idk if this is good for the engine... Do you have any advice? Should i put the gearbox in sport before leaving so engine can have some oil?
It depends if you want to warm it up while driving or before driving. You can put it in sports mode and press the accelerator and it starts to warm up but not very good. I usually drive it in electric and just press the paddle shift and it goes to manual and warms up and then once it warm put it in sport+ and gearbox in sport as well. There is 2 sports modes, one for engine/chassi and one for gearbox if you have m sport model.
Sometimes when you driving too hard and didn’t let it cool down at the house when you connect it to charger it will kick the fan in and cool it’s self down. The most money I spent is on tires to be honest, everything else is similar to the cost of normal 3 series.
Great Point! I wish BMW had a system for the engine to warm up at a Cold Start Instead of going straight to the batteries! Or at least a button to help us do that easily. Overall great to hear your experience with the car! How often do you charge it?
Yeah a button for the car to just warm up will be great. I charge it every night at house and that’s pretty much it, have it set to warm up inside before going to work. The charge state doesn’t really matter when you want to drive fast as it always keeps at least 10% for acceleration, the battery is actually never 0%.
I had a bmw 330e. I tuned at 354 hp en 560 nm. And had stage 3 xhp on the transmision. It droves amazing and the shift times were perfect. I did him away with 216.000 km. For a g30
If you take good care of the 330e wil it go far beyond 216.000km I'm looking for 1 to buy ath 100.000km and i wanna keep it for ath least 7 years but i drive allot of long drives so wil this be a good long term investment?
Can u hoon the 330E like the 328i? "slide around or burn out" is what i mean :P i am looking to swap my vw GTE with either one but i really want the hybrid due to being able to save money. but also i want to be able to mod the exhaust. so i am stuck between both F30's models one thing for sure. there aint much fun in FWD like a RWD xD
The initial slide with the 330e is very easy due to the amount of instant torque you’re getting from the electric motors, I haven’t tried burning out or hooning any 330e though tbh because I didn’t have owner’s consent to do that haha, but i’d assume it’d be possible. As far as Modding the exhaust goes, from what I’ve heard, you’re definitely more limited on what you can do with the 330e, compared to the Non-Hybrids, because of the batteries being right at the back. The reason I went with the 328i myself, was the weight of the 330e (noticeably harder to take tight corners with), the braking (harder to stop due to the Car being heavier, and lack of feel in the pedal IMO) and not being sure about the long-term reliability of the batteries specially since I wanna be doing donuts and burnouts. RWD all the way though for sure! 😁
Bro really enjoy your videos. Recently bought a 2012 328i. While I love the car performance and handling, I feel the ride quality a bit harsh and can feel the bumps on the road. Do you know why this is? It’s a luxury spec with 18 inch alloys. Not sure if it’s just a bmw thing or the run flat tyres.
Glad you enjoy the videos man! I'd say the ride quality on the F30 chassis is a bit harsh to begin with due to the sporty nature. But runflats play a big role on how harsh your ride is as well. You can always choose a different suspension setup to go softer too.
I'd say if you're not going to take a lot of high-speed tight corners, you'd be better off with the 330e. More Modern & More efficient. But try to get a Car with at least some kind of battery warranty for the next few years! If you care more about the Driving Experience, Definitely go with the Non-Hybrids. The B48 320i (LCI) and the 330i (around RM150k Second-hand) are also really good options!
Damn, i thought that 328i has a little larger engine than 2.0. That's kind of a shame in my opinion, for that 330e I expected to see 3.0 inline 6 engine under the hood with the addition of electric motors :D That's what happens when I've been dealing with E46's, E9X's, E60's for too long 🤣
I also wish BMW would stick with it's roots and use a 2.8 in their 28i's or a 3.0 in their 30i's like before! But at least it's not like Mercedes where they just stuck a 2.0-litre four-cylinder in their C63 😂
@@AJDrives True, that's even more ridiculous 😂 We need those great sounding V8's, but it seems that we can only dream about that 😥 But hey, still a nice little comparison in your video! I believe the fact that the 330e is a bit heavier because of the batteries and other electronics equippment. 328i still is bettet for my taste even with the turbo lag. I personally have a dislike towards electric car dominance, i feel like those suckers pollute the enviroment more than the modern diesel/petroleum engines because of batteries, the lithium, cobalt and other minerals have to be dug up, processed which pollutes everything so much more.
I have the exact same feeling, when i was in the market for a new car, it was between my current 2012 328i and a 2016 330e which had way more options and was a newer car, the 330e was only a little bit more money but I still chose the 328i because I didn't like how 330e feels to drive as much as the 328i. I also totally get you on the polution aspect! But it seems it's where the world is heading and we can't do anything about it!
I think 330e is the great joice. It turns you into a driver more conscious of environment. If you plug 🔌 every day, you will take all things that 330e have to offer. On my days work " more and less 40 km, my consumptions are almost 0% fuel ⛽. And keep the fun, for the weekend. The car can also offer's moment's of true pleasure.
My mom had a 328i m sport mapped stage 2 and mine 330e m sport with only the cold air intake upgraded. Bro I prefer 330e as I don’t feel too much turbo lag and yes the corners are not as stable as 328i but i found it fun tho because it’s always slipping the ass out 😂 I felt like initial d always under steered and power slide or drift when accelerating in the corners, I think we can just solve this sliding issue with just upgrading the suspension to a adjustable sport suspension 💨
I love how easy it is to powerslide with the 330e and the sharp throttle response too! The understeer should be improved too by a better tire & suspension setup. But I’d still prefer the 328i for tight corners, it’s just less heavy!
@@AJDrives Why are you saying "when fully charged"? 330e`s performance does not change regardless of it being charged or not. PHEV`s got both "continues power" and "burst power". You will need to try a 330e m sport against the 328i m sport as the suspension setup is probably different and why your feeling a difference?

BMW claims that the batteries are good for over 9 years. However it doesn't mean that problems haven't occurred for people below that timeframe.
