@@rollerdoors thanks for replying. I had already tried that but other buttons work and cycling the lock makes no difference. I'm resigned to the fact that the button has died and I'm in the process of mounting another remote on the wall

Because it’s a weather proof model it’s behind the lower cover that’s screwed on
