    I have no intention of becoming pregnant, but I'm in full support of more pregnancy related videos. There's a lot of health related nonsense on YT that preys on people genuinely seeking help. It's up to us in the medical and scientific communities to speak up and help dispel false claims and fear-based marketing. Thanks for putting yourself out there and providing solid dermatological information (and veg based recipes). Have a great weekend!

      There are a few factors in treating acne naturally. One place I discovered which successfully combines these is the Pats Remedy Plan (google it if you're interested) it's the best blueprint that I've seen. look at all the extraordinary information .

    Thank you for warning us about "natural" products and their false claims. I switched to all natural products as soon as I found out I got pregnant in an attempt to protect my baby.. and all of a sudden I developed dermatitis on my face (never had this before). I believe it was due to this new regime. 😔 My derm doctor just asked me to stop using them and keep everything to a minimum to allow my skin to heal itself. Great advice from you!

    Another wonderful video! My husband and I were going to try in a few months for a baby and I suffer from acne so that’s a huge fear of mine that my acne will be bad during pregnancy and not have a lot of safe options. Great video! More like this would be great. It’s nice to have some knowledge prior to going to a physician so you can have a meaningful conversation with them about treatment.

    Thank you for doing this video! I'm pregnant and I felt lost because I found conflicting information about the safety of BHA and AHAs. I'm glad I found your video because obviously, you are a more trustworthy source than skincare/beauty editor websites. I wish I could afford a trip to the dermatologist but I've recently had several unexpected expenses that threw my budget out of whack. I'm currently dealing with acne so I will discontinue the use of salicylic acid and will look into some of the safe options you mentioned. Also, thank you for mentioning that sulphur might not be safe; I've seen this ingredient recommended on pregnancy skin care websites and videos. Thanks again for all the helpful information!

    THANK YOU Dr. Dray for this video! I know I’ve left many comments asking about skincare during pregnancy because of all the inconclusive data I’ve found, particularly reguarding acne. I am 16 weeks with my second baby and my acne was exasperated during the early weeks when hormones were heightened, currently mostly clear at the low time around this gestation. I never dealt with acne during the first pregnancy because I didn’t even develop acne until after my daughter’s birth and breastfeeding. So this time, I had no idea how to address the acne. It doesn’t help when the practitioners I talked to had no clue about skincare ingredients, particularly acne treatments, and would just tell me I would be fine using what I had so long as it wasn’t vitamin A.... this is very helpful! Thanks for sharing and leveling the inconclusive data as mich as possible! Thanks to your videos here and recommendations for body moisturizers, my body skin looks and feels great! Great info about botanical products/ingredients concerningthe immune system. Many women think this isnthe tokento go ALL natural and it always seems to end up causing problems at least for most people I know doing it.

    • @DrDrayzday
      @DrDrayzday  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      no ones knows for sure...if anything, since they will be stopped during, if they are for a skin disease like acne or melasma, that is likely to flare during pregnancy, maybe worth visiting derm now and discuss stopping in advance so as to transition to safer things and give those things time to start working

    Thank you for this video. I am currently TTC and while I know you frown upon unnecessary ingredients in skincare products, I was hoping you could clarify a few ingredients for me concerning safety for pregnancy.
    1. Glycolic acid
    2. Licorice root extract
    3. Radish root ferment filtrate
    4. Bergamot oil
    5. Rosewood extract
    6. Feverfew extract
    Thank you for your time and consideration. Have a great day.

    Pregnancy does wonders for my skin, and it’s horrendous in between pregnancies (hormonal acne, jawline and chin acne), so my derm is recommending tretnoin and spiro to target that AFTER this pregnancy (my third and final pregnancy) is over. I’ve been using glycolic acid and azelaic acid as actives and tons of moisturizing.
    I do get flair ups in my psoriasis though during pregnancy which sucks because all of the treatments that have been effective for me are not recommended for use during pregnancy... ugh! Trying a new one that is safe, my derm said a lot of his patients have luck with it so hopefully I will too. Thanks for all of the info Dr Dray!

    I’m still breastfeeding, and the doctor said she can’t help me until I stop breastfeeding. My daughter is 14 months, and all I wear is sunscreen and I wash my face at night and use the moisturizers you recommend. Those videos sound great! Also, would tea tree oil in a face wash be considered a safe acne-fighting alternative during pregnancy? Provided that you're skin isn't reacting to it poorly? I've read that tea tree oil has been demonstrated to be as effective as benzoyl peroxide, it just doesn't work as fast.

    Hi Dr. Dray! are you still planning on doing your pregnancy skin care favorites like you mentioned in this video? I would love know what product recommendations you may have. I started using the vanicream lite lotion on my face per your recommendation because I suspect I have a skin allergy to some ingredient, I like it and no irritation so far but I think I need a little extra moisturizing. Thanks again!

    Thank you very much for contributing some quality information for general audience, I do really appreciate it! New subscriber here - but I already watched like half of the content on your chanel :) I suspect someone already asked the question but anyways.. I just recently started adapalene for my stubborn acne (still prescription in europe), and it finally got under control (yay!) Do I need to leave a wash out period when planing to get pregnant so in 2-3 years? When yes how long should it be? Is there any reason for young women not to use it at all because of some accumulation effects over time?

    Please do those fun videos "what to expect when expecting" and pregnancy skincare favorites.
    Also my dermatologist prescribed a cleaner with sulfur and sodium sulfacetamide in it and said I could use it when I get pregnant. It looks like you're saying it's not advised. What do you recommend I do?

    Hi! thanks for the video! What about Parabens and Phthalates? What's the "real deal" about those and pregnancy? Should they be avoided? I noticed that a lot of the "all natural" brands brag that their products don't have those ingredients as well. Does that matter? Thanks!

    Great video as always. Speaking of salicylic acid, some people use crushed aspirin as a face mask for acne (maybe due to its similarity with salicylic acid?). What do you think about aspirin for acne treatment and the safety of its topical use during pregnancy, doc?

      Jaycee chemical burns 😮 there's way too much SA in aspirin for that to be ok

    • @DrDrayzday
      @DrDrayzday  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      even worse idea...unless you have a certain medical condition, aspirin is generally not recommended during pregnancy...discuss w/ your treating health care provider...but putting it on the face is a bad idea for multiple reasons....chemical burn for starters
