After watching this last night, I decided I was going to our local VW dealer in Huntsville. They have this in white and in black. But that Nardo gray is the best color IMO. Thx for the video.
I'm just sad there is no sunroof, digital cockpit or leather on the 35th, sad there is no DCC on the Autobahn & they don't have height adjustment on passenger seats, no adaptive cruise control no parking assist, no a/c vent in the back, they screwed the US market as Mexico & Canada can get cars with more and better options.
My 17' GLI was 23k out the door. Got it as a year end clearance model and the dealer took 6k off the MSRP. My car is loaded, came standard with sunroof, leatherette, Fender premium audio, power everything, dual clutch tranny. Now that it's tuned, it's unbelievable how nice it is. I'm definitely NOT pulling the trigger on a new GLI for QUITE A WHILE...
Because milling machines and lathes are cooler than ANY car could ever be.... new Jetta is not really appealing to me not hating on vw just not really feeling the new one 6th gen looks better to me
Instead of speculating about a potential Jetta type R, which I think most would agree will probably never happen, maybe the public can push for a rear wheel drive Jetta GT. That way instead of directly competing with the golf gti & r, vw would be offering a significantly different performance experience with the Jetta.
@@dorkultra I think the Bentley Continental GT Mulsanne. It would definitely be an unexpected move fpr the company, but also a chance to offer unexpected value and diversity in their line up.

I can only talk from a consumer's perspective, obviously it would be up to vw to determine if a move like that would be worth the trouble and figuring out how to accomplish it in a cost effective way. I'm just saying it's something different that would enrich their line up, particularly for car enthusiasts.
The car is fine without fog lights, leave that to the boy racer japanese cars. German cars are staid and solid not about the fluff and stuff. They have Americanized the regular 4 cylinder jetta. I believe the R line has fog lights. This car is totally German with how its engineered.

You're forgetting the GLI just picked up the Gen 3 ea888 that the GTI had since it's mk7 in 2015 which finally allows access to the tuning community finally but I can imagine the gen 4 ea888 coming out soon for the gti. Also it's FWD not AWD.
Is not a gti with a trunk and it will never be. The tires are 225/45/18 on the gti 225/40/18 have more sidewall. It has more bodyroll than a gti and just wait one more year and the new gti is going to have like 20 to 40 more hp . It a good car but it will never be a sedan version of a gti
These things can easily be changed with software, better tires, and decent coilovers. For less money than an RS3/TTRS, you could make this jetta exceed 400hp and corner just as hard for LESS money
Test drove this car. Disappointing. You have to buy the autobahn trim in order to get the leather seats, navigation, and the upgraded sound system. Don't know how much the autobahn costs, but my local dealer wants $34,550 for the anniversary edition. Sorry, it is not worth it when I look at what other cars I can buy at that price. I have a problem with the seats in this car and the Golf GTI. Just can not get comfortable for some reason. In my opinion, I think VW put too many lines on the body styling. It looks overdone. I really liked the simplicity of the previous model. They also did something I do not care for which is placing the climate controls down low. It means I have to take my eyes off of the road to make any adjustments. Worse yet is that everything is in black. Living in LA, I wear good sunglasses when driving so the black dash down there is even darker.

New VWs have fog lights integrated in the main headlight cluster that point down. Looks great actually.
