    First of all I absolutely detest people that judge on age difference because it's none of their business. I am retirement age and my last Asian partner was 28 years younger. Many of the men don't even realize, they have choices, and need to make up their mind what they want for change. Not what some over-aggressive Western woman is forcing down their throat. You are the man. Many men also have not realized the ratio of young women in the 20-30 range they are most abundant, and most Asian women feel they're starting to age oh, so they are motivated to have a real committed relationship. And last but not least good Lord guys decide if you want to have children don't just let it Fly and see what happens, why would you want an accident why don't you plan for your future. I would have to disagree you're saying that a forty-year-old woman has more experience and is worldly, my old Thai girlfriend was a sales manager in a large company and still could not even book her own airline flights. Didn't know her way around Bangkok after years living there. She was however very good at acting in manipulating men. That brings me to the final thought which is younger women probably has not turned into a manipulating man eater, still retaining some of that innocence and simple goodness. Decide what you want and act like you know what you want🙏🙏

    I was married to my beautiful Filipina wife, three years my senior, for 41 years. I have learned just as much from her as she has from me. We retired here in the Philippines in 2014. She passed away shortly after we got settled down here from cancer. She was a two-time survivor. She was also my caregiver. She was my nurse when I was medivaced to Cubi Point in the 1970s; we were both in our early 20s and grew up together. After her death, I knew I couldn't survive on my own because of my disabilities. I hired a caregiver to help me, but she would get my medications wrong and was aggressively mean. She was in her mid-fifties and tried to take over my banking. She moved her family into my house, even her grandchildren. They stole my late wife's jewelry and one of my credit cards that they used to order things online. They destroyed my car and left it at the scene of the accident. I never knew about it until the police came to my door and told me. I told the police what was going on, and he went to our barangay, They came to my house, and with my permission, they threw them all out. The barangay told me that the house next door had two nurses and five caregivers living there. He asked them if they could assist me. They said they could not because the contract they have forbids them from working another client out of the company's system. One of the nurses said that a caregiver recently resigned because the company wouldn't let her go to her mother's funeral. They called her, and she agreed to work for me. When i first saw her, I was shocked at how much she reminded me of my late wife in our younger years. I was surprised at how she did everything correctly, almost like my late wife, even her cooking. I knew at that point that I did not want to lose her. So after a year, I asked her to marry me. She said yes and that she felt attracted to me when she first saw me. I got her a B-1 Visa and took her to Las Vegas, where we got married. Today my grief has subsided because I see and feel my late wife in her. We have a 30 year age gap.

    What I have learned from My Angel Pinay is deep love. Sounds corny but the truth is there is only a small percentage in the entire world that have deep love for each other. I also learned from her what to look for in a partner. Raised right with the right morals values and court them for 4 to 5 years to make sure that there isn't any bad qualities that can ruin everything. I think a year is too soon. I learned from my 1st marriage of 32 years. If you see a bad quality ask yourself many times what will this look like in 10 to 15 years down the road ??????????

  • @stevew3196
    @stevew3196 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

    To me there are 2 distinct elements to forming a lasting relationship.
    First is finding the rght woman. That's something that shouldn't be rushed. As an older guy with divorce in the past I want to take time getting to know my partner. I don't want to have a failed relationship.
    The second element has to be the age gap. As you point out dating a filipina who is considerably younger is going to present additional challenges. I think the mentor approach is a good idea.

  • @scottbellisle5581
    @scottbellisle5581 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I do agree with you about making her grow as a person. But we all know there are a lot of choices in America and generally speaking if you take a girl home to America, chances are she can and will most likely replace you for a younger person whom has more in common with her. Sure we can always find a bunch in common. But, chances are the guy that is 55 or older usually don’t want to go to night clubs and go dancing until 2 am. I am 55 and certainly don’t want that as I go to bed for 9 pm every night for 30 years now. If you want a hot Filipina, go there and stay there, don’t bring her home. Not all of course, but a large majority of them won’t stay with you for long if you are a lot older. Just saying.

  • @RichieRichAbroad-us6ol

    Youre totally on point and the bottom line really is... Who cares as long as 2 people are happy together. I prefer a woman 35-40 years old, but I still respect the guys who know what they want and like and go out there to get it. Be someone who helps her to grow and mature. This will only add to her respect and love for you and your overall happiness.

    I enjoyed watching the video and your perspective on dating someone much younger in the Philippines. I wonder how difficult it must be for a Filipina to have to chose between being with an older man verse having a child. I know how family oriented Filipinas are I can't imagine asking her to not have children on my behalf. I wonder how can a 20-24 year old know how she is going to fell about children in seven years. Especially when all her girlfriends her age are sharing their experiences of being pregnant and having children with the men they love. Tough choice for a young Filipina to make and live with. I can see how attractive the mentor role could be and the benefits of having a younger Filipina mate but I don't know If I could live with seeing her look at children (which are everywhere) and press down the nature instinct to be a mother. I believe relationships should be about compromise and sacrificing for each other and having no regrets. Just my two cents.

    • @Lifebeyondthesea
      @Lifebeyondthesea  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      yes. for a young woman who is still conflicted that would be quite the quandry. however, i have met and dated women in their mid-30s (filipinas) who are confident in their decision to not have kids. they pursued travel and career instead. those women are the 'safest' candidates. under-30... it's a roll of the dice.

    • @Lifebeyondthesea
      @Lifebeyondthesea  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      of course she's making a choice. nobody has a gun to her head. she doesn't "have to" stay in a relationship with anyone.
      people "sacrifice" when they have no other choice or no choice in the matter at all. that doesn't apply to a young (or older) woman (or man) who chooses to stay with someone of their own free will.

    • @Kosty19
      @Kosty19 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Wouldn't be one of the reasongs to marry a girl in her 20s because she still can have kids? If You don't want kids better date 30+ I would say.

    • @Lifebeyondthesea
      @Lifebeyondthesea  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @robwor3129 you are simply wrong, the issue of kids was discussed in the first days of our meeting. before any emotional ties had been built. you are speaking as if i threw this condition on her after a few years. so where is this "gun to her head" that you speak of? it doesn't exist.
      it's also insulting to her that you say that at age 22 she's incapable of making her own decisions when you yourself were making your own decisions at age 18.

    Great content Reekay. I heard you say this before I began going to SE Asia. I have been a mentor for 35 years. I really like the qualities of generously sharing life knowledge and insights to younger, early 20’s SE Asian women. You’re right. They are very mature for their age. I treat them with respect and it’s reciprocated. They learned responsibility from taking responsibility in their family. I really like the synergistic energy of my older experience in combination with her open minded young loving playful spirit. It took some time getting used to it and getting away from the US judgement that it was wrong. Once I accepted nothing it wrong, it’s my presence. I will return soon and eventually find a young Filipina taking time to get to know her. I think one year is the minimum living together to know someone as well. Great point in regards to what is the young Filipina changes her mind and wants children. Be grateful for the years together. Another great video.

In most Asian societies the children take care of their parents when they get old and can’t work so the more children you have the more likely you will be cared for. I agree with your premise that you should pass on your knowledge so if you leave them they should be better than when you met them.

    Im not the teacher type. I prefer a spouse that is educated, independant and can think on her feet, but most importantly someone who shares the same interest and passion as me. 20 year old girls mostly dont fit that catagory for me, especially in the Philippines. To me, they are just pretty to look at and fun to take to a night club ... thats all.
    The one common reason most expats get togeather here is because they cannot have an indeapth conversation with there spouse or girlfreind. So l wonder ... why would they hook up with them?

    Thai's and Filipinas when the reach their early 30's, is when they get the most hottest. The most gorgeous Asians, do not hit their most beautiful peak, until their 30's. So if you're older, don't bother with the younger women. Elevate your company to a more mature, better looking Asian with life experience. But, as said, they also hit their 'peak' in their 30's and get baby fever.

      several reasons;
      she has a fresh, outgoing perspective on life. this is so welcome to an older man who may have gotten a bit cynical after so many years seeing how the world works.
      she is full of passion, energetic and in her sexual prime. most men dread the post-menopause loss of passion in an older woman.
      a younger woman doesn't have the emotional baggage an older woman twice-divorced has.

    I’m 63 and I won’t date a woman under 40 because I want to allow her the chance to find someone to have children with. And I really don’t want the drama associated with raising another man’s child. (Mom has final say in how HER child is raised. And shared parenting, etc.)
    Also, I find that a mentor role is very one sided. Maybe a 23 year old does have things she can teach me, besides her language. But, that’s not been my experience. I dated a 28 year old when I was 48 and found that our different stages of life left little common ground to connect on. Plus, her friends who were her contemporaries were boring, high or just partiers.
    I’m currently dating a 43yo with a daughter whose father disappeared as soon as he found out he was a father. And we both have very similar parenting styles and philosophies. But, it’s long distance and not progressing at this point.

    Good subject. Isn't it better to find someone who is an unmarried single mother say 22, with a 5 and 3 year Old. No rush you accept that her kids come first and you slowly get to know her over the next 15 years together without living together. You are like an uncle not a father. At least this way she has done the kid thing and won't pressure you for more.

    • @suzannahoffman-he3yj
      @suzannahoffman-he3yj 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      But won't she pressure you for marriage during the 15 yrs? That is a very long time. If she is 22, she might not want to waste all those yrs on someone who might never commit. Over the 15 yrs, with your paying her an allowance, she will become more confident and perhaps educated while you will get older and older. By the time she is 37 - even if she waits faithfully - she will still be young and attractive, while you will be needing a caretaker. Not a great plan.

  • @all4fitz
    @all4fitz 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Yes, help her make progress in life. Teach her to fix things, resolve problems, communicate, interact, build stuff and not put your hand over your mouth while giggling about things that aren't funny. These are all important things that Filipina women need to learn. But DEFINITELY don't take her back to your country and obviously if somehow you found a little lady that's not already addicted to the phone and an online existence, celebrate it and preserve it.

    The mentor aspect makes sense because in fact she could be the age of Your daughter and You could be the age of her dad. Which in fact is a father-daughter-like relationship psychologically, no?
    But I still don't get why an early-20s girl will seek a long-term relationship with a man 20+ years older at all!?

      i've asked several early 20's filipinas (that i had a relationship with) the exact same question. their reply consistently...
      they view younger men (expat or local) as cheaters, not ready to marry.
      younger men are not established financially.
      they view older men (local or expat) as more knowledgeable about life and established financially.

I say that because we only come together 2-3 times a year for 3 weeks at a time because I’m not yet ready to retire. I finally disagree with you a little bit when you are talking about being a mentor around the 6:22 part about mentoring. I personally believe that most men want a foreign woman to remain simple and not westernized or why even go to a Asian nation. I mean who wants a feministic type western woman who thinks men are ATMs and have slept with 40 men=yuck. I have been married going on 15 years to a woman from Asia and have kept her simple but not totally and she has thanked me for not pushing her into western culture too fast. I have also helped some people meet foreign women from my wife's group and they are all happy. The last type of woman I would want is a liberal democrat Calitard type. Good videos as always, and factual for most part and I have been watching you for many years

    • @Lifebeyondthesea
      @Lifebeyondthesea  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      i'm not advocating "westernizing" a province woman. i'm saying, help her reach her full potential. teach her the things about science she didn't learn in school. teach her how to manage a savings account and her own debit card. get her a passport. help her to learn about business if she is so inclined. if she likes gardening, buy her all the stuff she needs for that. if she wants to attend college, make it happen.
      the point is, marriage is not all about the man. a man who loves a woman will want to see her own dreams come true. if that concept scares a man so that he feels insecure about teaching her anything, that man is not ready for a wife.

      I was thinking you meant something else. I of course agree with what your saying and what you always say in most cases and find you to be correct based on my 25 years of dealing with the Filipino people. I am aware that many American devil women and even some Filipinas here will try to mess your woman up and even try to take you away from your woman but more likely in the coastal areas of American where traditionalism is rare. I live in the Midwest or traditional America with my wife and she loves it. My wife is 100% and a traditional family oriented woman but she was in her late 30s when I met her and I told her to go back to college and she laughed at me and went and planted a bigger garden and is happy. Keep doing good vids Reekay and I will refer people to your page always. When I return to Pilipines I would like to meet up with you @@Lifebeyondthesea
