Thank you for doing a better quick overview of this Yamaha PSR SX 920. I planned on purchasing a 900, but this seems to be a better choice to record my original songs and ballads.
Bluetooth is new. Style dynamics knob is new. Some super articulation plus voices n styles r new. App compatibility etc too. Its a good upgrade but price is also pretty high.
It looks and sounds awesome, but I don't see many improvements over the sx900 it replaces. If a heavily discounted 900 is available, it might be the better choice.
The main difference is that the PSR-SX920 has Super Articulation 2 sounds which is a first for a mid range keyboard. The SX900 is still a brilliant keyboard and paying extra for a discounted SX700 or SX900 is still better than buying a PSR-SX600.
@@johnt334 I'm the wrong person to ask; I really don't know that much about either instrument. That said, if I could get either the 900 or the 720 for the same price, I'd probably go with the SX900.

Sorry if this is a repeat question, but I would like to know if the sustainability of the tones are held longer with the sustain pedal down...such as sustaining a pad sound after releasing your fingers off the keys. The reason I ask is that the psr-s series lacked that feature.

I came to know that there is some sustain fadeout issue while trying to off the sustain button/pedal on hold. Will it be resolved by a firmware update?. I was planning to buy one, but now i am sceptical
@@timoseeberger9637 thats actualy not true. Genos 2 not have FM engine. They just sampled best of DX series and put it on keyboard like sounds. You not have engine to manipulate the sound, like MODX or MONTAGE. ;)
@@F1ManiaChanel The Genos 2 introduced a second sound engine for FM synthesis. But like you wrote, one probably cannot deeply edit these sounds (operator level) or create custom FM patches. Just play presets.
I downloaded all genos 2 styles that I'm using With psr SX 900 and added above 950MB expansion pack along with audio styles and audio multi pads using very nicely for recording and live performing so in this PSR SX 920 can't find more changes only 2gb expansion memory' and some functions are more but still operating buttons,s not changed I so it in SX 600 and psr 670. In this better quality button,s given. So I wait for the next model or yamaha must provide us Genos 1. It has all the voices from genos1 i checked the voice list for it and its same as genos1. I know it because i own genos1my self. There is nothing from the new sounds that are in genos 2 it doesnt have the new reberbs and efects from genos2 as well. So i dont understand why it is little Brother to genos2 and it doesnt have the new drum kits from genos2 as well? So basically it is nearly a genos1 with built in speakers in 61 key version

I never liked the keybed feel of the SX 900 as it was so noisy with bad quality keys. I wonder if they added a better keys and aftertouch maybe?! Not sure. I'll test one when it arrives at my local shop. Physically wise, it's as the same look and feel as SX 900
I agree they could have also added aftertouch to the SX920. But having Super Articulation 2 is still a step forward as until now SA2 was exclusive to the flagship Tyros and Genos arranger/ workstations.
The main difference is that te SX720 and SX920 have Super Articulation 2 voices ( including the SA2 clartinet introduced on Tyros 3 ). Until now it was only Tyros 3-5, Genos and Genos 2 that used SA2 technology.
And yet **still** no EDIT facility for the CHORD LOOPER - what inept product manager signed off the design spec on this half arsed feature?. At least Korg saw fit to add edit facility in the PA5x
@@ericmwitimwiti3963 price wise - comparison should have been made to GENOS series but Korg will soon have a junior PA in the same category as the PSR SX's.

Sx900 and sx700 have problem with FSB Keys...
SA2, bluetooth, 2GB RAM!, dynamic control, new xfade legato & portamento....
