Taking off the intercooler is a way better option than taking off the exhaust area. This will allow you to work right above everything and not try to work from the side and have to work around the intercooler fan. Better option imo
It would be nice to get a full video of all spark plugs being removed as the middle spark plug doesn’t have a way to be changed due to fan being in the way.
what kinda of magic vodoo is needed to get the extension and socket down the center cyclinder hole? Certainly a 6" extension wont fit even without the socket? what length extension did you use? its shown in the video at 5:08 for a half of second. I have a 3" extension and deep 14mm and that wont fit. Much shorter and it doesnt clear the engine? What am i missing? please help?
Lower the deep socket down into the hole while still holding it at the base... then connect a 3” extension and continue to lower it down. It should just barely stick out of the hole once lowered all the way down and you can then finally connect your ratchet wrench onto it and loosen / tighten.
It helps tremendously to first push the connect forward a hair while pushing down the release mechanism. It’s such a small movement forward that you won’t typically even feel it, but you will hear the mechanism click free. When you do get it off, make sure to wipe everything down and then put a little dielectric grease into the connection to keep it water tight and make it easier to remove in the future.
*** Do not use this method. The factory intercooler fan will get in the way and won't let you pull the coil packs out. It is removed in the video already, but they don't mention it. You might as well remove the intercooler instead and get it from the top. Thanks for wasting everyone's time with this video
@@ShotCallen23 : just one little thing after another. Leaking trans fluid, bad fuel pump, always went into limp mode. But it’s all fixed now. I just didn’t realize x3s need about 3k worth of stuff to make them trail worthy lol
Excellent video, thanks for posting. Very helpful.
Will do, thanks
Great video!! Well done guys

Gracias esto me ayudara mucho
Love it
Exelente trabajo
Is there a trick to getting the connector off the coil pack? Mine wont budge, you must have gorilla hands

Cual es la diferencia entre la LMAR9AI-8 y LMAR9AI-8D?
This video is fantastic, but I hate how easy they make it look taking off the wiring clips. 😅 I don’t take them off enough to have that kind of speed.
Pull intercooler ?
NO !
I find removing the intercooler and two hoses a lot easier to replace the spark plugs plus you get a clear sight of what you’re doing from the top
Not needed with this method. Watch the video and it’s clear on what you need to do.
Definitely pull the intercooler. 4 bolts and 2 hose clamps and you're looking straight down at the plugs.
Man that first one to the left you will have to I remove in the cooler, there is no way you will be able to pull that first one out

Awful, absolutely hateful engineering.
Are you kidding me? All this to do a spark plug job. Freaking incredible. So glad I didn’t buy a canam. My dad is gonna hate himself soon.
