- In this video, I have made some foliage in blender for Unreal Engine and created wind movement for grass & foliage. Hope you like it.

When you try to find a good tutorial there is always THE super usefull Indian tutorial!
If you have problems with not everything moving separatly check the export settings in blender to make sure vertex colors are exported. In UE make sure in your import options->mesh->advanced Vertex color is on "Replace".

Could you do a video actually walking us through how to get the textures imported and working as well for the foliage? No matter what I do my transparent PNGs don't seem to want to work.
You should be including rotation with your painting
Nice work mate. I really like the grass part. The rest of the foliage seems a bit simple. What I did recently is generate a texture with Midjourney AI. You can set it to have white / black background, and with an online photo editing program you can remove the background. After some cleanup you can export that as a texture. It's fairly easy to make good looking textures that way, with opacity mask. It would strain the system more, but I think it would still work, especially with nanite enabled.
Gr8.. I generally hand paint the basic textures and then use Leonardo AI to create variations of those textures.
Sorry to ask another question, have been playing with the shader it is amazing, only thing is, i need two vertex Channels to paint the Leafs and at the top of it another channel for the first Vertex control at (13:54) which is basically the "Noise", any idea how to paint per Channel Vertex Colors on Blender?
Not sure about per channel, but you can paint multiple vertex maps in the "Color Attributes" section of Data object properties for any object.
Would it be possible to purchase a PDF of the material graph? Or possibly get it via a UE project?
Will try to implement this for more realistic approach, currently working on grass like Ghost of Tsushima, have not seen the full video yet but, any idea how to make these grass clumps face the camera just slightly, near 20% to the player, so it looks more populated? thanks

I’m having an issue where I import the grass from Blender to Unreal I get some strange corruption on the blades. It is like a noise in the shadows. Am I doing something wrong in Blender or is it possibly something in the export/import?
When i add the VertexColor Node before the Sine, my Material makes a Disco Party and looks like Thunder. Any Ideas how to fix this?
( ColScale, Radius, ZEffect ) - What are those 3 additional parameters?

How can I place the grass above the terrain? I was investigating some ways like the foliage tool but I couldn't assign the material. Could you give me some guidance on this?
A vague way may be "to move the pivot point of the grass/foliage mesh down a little"

I have used simple colors for grass, for more realistic grass, use textures.

@@drinorkastrati8824 That depends on the scope of your scene/level. You can compare that yourself by creating both and applying at a test level.
Even if you use textures, alpha based(masked) textures are performance heavy then opaque textures. Also , try to keep all foliage in one ( minimum) texture file ( make a collage/board).
