- We went back to training at the compound again to get ready for this upcoming season! Had a blast teaching one of my amateur buddies, Kaden Pearson, the track and some technique! While around the track, some of my MX riding friends stepped up and wanted to try my race quad... Man, was it hilarious! #motocross #atv #ford #race #track #funny

IV never ridden a quad but I'd think they're even more dangerous that Mx bike , doing jumps like that is far from gay

Its funny to see great bike racers having growing pains on quads. For me id be opposite on a bike. Seems like the whoops and jumps and an holding an even pace is more difficult, also getting used to thumb throttle might be tricky for em. Good video.

I so love watching guys do this…. I almost wish some top riders would go actually try and get use to a decked out YFZ or LTR.. ride them for a few days and see how they do. Like Jett Lawrence actually spending a week on one
Phil Nicoletti rode Hetricks trx450r back when he used to ride for honda in like 2019 or 2020 and Phil said that it's absolutely insane how much skill it takes to ride a quad. He has nothing but respect for quad mx riders. Ken Roczen has all the respect in the world to quad racers too. It's funny how the high level mx bike riders know that quad motocross is just as difficult as bikes are yet these random internet warriors with no quad or bike sit here and try to say that quads are easier.😂

I ride dirt bikes idk why people hate the quads
Cause any person with zero skill can still ride a quad.
Not taking away from the professional level, but you need ZERO experience to have fun on a quad. Zero. No throttle control, most quads clutch easier than a bike, and youre stable the entire time, unless you corner too hard. You cant just throw a leg around a dirt bike like you can a quad.
No barrier of entry with skill. End of story.

First thing when he gets to the pros is to get a mechanic who will clean the bike off before opining up sensitive parts and exposing them to contamination!
I was in my early 20's when most every brand had a 450 race quad and quad racing was big. The KTM quads were pretty sweet. Was an MX guy myself but my buddy was a 450 A rider. I could hop on a quad and stay on his ass, but if he hopped on a bike....it was like watching someone ride for the first time. Personally I don't care for race quads, I like being able to hit a line 6 in wide and not get squirrely or bucked off. Hitting a jump on a race quad that isn't 4ft wide and level will launch an amateur rider off the machine. You can take an MX bike off the showroom floor and race competitively, but a quad ya gotta put a few grand in suspension, another few grand into the motor if not more, just too much money imo. And the only 450 quad made is the Yamaha (Yamaha is #1!). It seems to be a dying sport and would hate to see it go even though I don't personally care for them.

Just an idea when I was looking into getting into racing quads a few years ago I had no idea what to look for what I was doing or what I needed you are one of the best and have the platform maybe do some beginner stuff things you will need things to work on easy quick nothing to deep but I couldn’t find anything on it and I thought everything was on TH-cam

@@LolliWANG505I understand but I’ve ridden/raced quads my whole life and I was able to jump on a dirt bike at the track and jump everything within a few laps. I have ridden bmx my whole life too but never owned a dirt bike bigger then a TTR90.

I’ve only ridden dirt bikes so idk anything about qauds but are quads really that hard to keep running? Like I kept seeing people stalling the bike.
The clutches in those quads are quite a bit stiffer than a bike and the grab rate is a little different add in a thumb throttle and it throws you for a loop😂
@@tylerstephens18 ohh ok I forgot they had thumb throttles. I literally only rode dirt bikes so just thought it was weird experianced riders were struggling that bad but that makes sense

Quads are fun in the snow and riding wheelies but not allowed at any of my MX tracks for good reasons 😅😅😅
They're banned because bike guys can't handle quads. Quads are very good at mx tracks, though.

The learning curve for quads is a lot easier than bikes. I know because I've raced both. Quads are just easier to go fast on sooner that's why you see so many doing the quad thing. It takes more skill to ride a bike fast.

I will never understand why someone would choose to ride a quad over a dirt bike.
I ride both, both fun in different ways.
Race Quads are more enjoyable for 50% of riding, especially in sand, or very loose dirt. Would never ride my quad on a track cause thats why I have my bikes, but for sand dunes or desert riding? Ill take my Kfx450r any day, especially for multiple days of riding for 6+ hours.
@@MVSTNGGT I choose dirt bike 9 times out of 10 but I still have fun on a quad from time to time. Not my preferred ride, but to "hate on an atv" is so childish. If someone can't have fun on a quad they're a total loser.
@@zpbeats3938 Agreed, will never get tired of getting scared to death by my KX500, but Id never take it mudding like I do with my Outlander, and Id never prefer riding it for a week straight in 100+ degree weather at the dunes when I could actually enjoy it with my KFX. Its like the saying, theres more than one way to skin a cat, same way theres more than one way to have fun.

That is a comment from someone ignorant who knows nothing about either sport other than what they’ve watched on TH-cam. Plenty of professional rib cages and ankles have been destroyed by casing two wheelers.
