Fine looking HD Sturgis. That scenery around your town is gorgeous! I sure can't wait to fly up there, and hang with y'all for a few days. That will be one of the best times in my life, and #1 on my bucket list.
Another great one!! Love this podcast! I grew up racing in the 70’s and 80’s and guys like Denny and Budman were among my hero’s. Sometimes, instead of watching stupid movies, I will pick a year from the past and watch every national, GP and/or supercross (in order) that I can find on TH-cam. Never got to see them in the day….never got to learn more about the riders themselves back then either. This podcast has become an important part of the sports archive.
I remember watching Denny come from last place in a first turn pile up at the 1990 Foxboro SX (old stadium) to win it. I always enjoyed his style and easy going attitude-always approachable for an autograph in the pits. The late 80s - early 90s era Suzuki teams were the best. Thanks Ping!
This is a great show! I grew up in the 80’s with guys like Willie Surratt and Mike Keidrowski. Back then those guys were racing every weekend all over the state! I grew up in SoCal and now I’m living in NorCal. We have a ton of tracks up here that have races every weekend. You can go practice at the tracks M-F and then race on the weekend. We have Argyle, Marysville, Hangtown, Oatfield and a few others. We get one big amateur National, The Dodge National at Hangtown. Then in May or July we have the big pro National at Hangtown. My cousins are racing every weekend up here. It’s great for our sport. SoCal has all these tracks but don’t offer much racing. You can go ride those tracks everyday but not much racing. When I was a little kid at 5-6 I had pictures of guys like Chuck Sun, Brad Lackey on my walls! Then it was guys like Mcgoo, Hannah, Glover, Bell, then Ward, RJ, Dogger, Bradshaw, then McGrath, Keidrowski, Larocco. I’ve been a fan forever and never miss a SX or MX now.
Another great show! I grew up with posters on my wall! I was born in 1969 and Bad Brad Lackey, Chuck Sun were the guys I idolized! Then it just snowballed from there! I got my first bike when I was 5 when we moved out to Canyon Country near Indian Dunes. I had a little Honda Z-50 then moved up to an XR-75. We went to all the Superbowls of Motocross at the LA coliseum, the rose bowl etc. Miller beer was the title sponsor and my dad was good friends with the VP Don Shashaw and he would get us vip tickets. I loved the races and it just stuck with me. Watching guys like Johnny-O, Mark Barnett, McGoo, Glover, Mike Bell, RJ, Wardy, Jim Holly, Rick Ryan and on and on. Mouse McCoy was a good friend growing up., Mike Keidrowski, Willie Surratt was a good friend. I used to go to his house in 10th grade and wear his gear, jump on one of his Honda CR 125 practice bikes and we’d go ride in the hills. He used to make me jump some crazy shit! If I refused he would say ok we are going home! So of course I would have to jump what he wanted me to! I’d be going to a party on Friday night, driving down the road and there would be Mike Keidrowski running and training. Ask Jim Bones Bacon about Vasquez cyn. It was our Richie canyon for you Temecula guys. Tracks made out of the terrain we had. Lots of guys used to ride and practice out there. Larry Brooks was always out there! Those big thick glasses behind his goggles, Mercedes Gonzalez used to ride out there. Mouse, Surratt, Kehoe, Keidrowski, and more. I still go to SX religiously every year! I drive down to LA for A-1 every year. I’m living in NorCal now and Hangtown is close. So I always hit Oakland SX and Hangtown. I’m still a diehard fan of MX and SX. I still like to watch Lorettas, see the up and coming talent about to make their pro debuts! The Whisky throttle show is fantastic! Great interviews with some of the greatest riders from back in the day! No more Motoworld as we now get to watch all the races online or tv! Not like back in the day when you might catch a race on ESPN, or watch highlights on Motoworld. Keep up the great work Ping! Love all your shows!
Good show! Nice to see Denny! Them dam navicular bones! My wrist has never been the same. Had to quit racing because I couldn't hold on anymore. We had to have all our wrist strength to hold them 125cc wide open like we did. I miss the days of racing with Denny and alot of these other guys!!
#Salute to Pat Alexander for putting together a program for Denny after what Honda did to him. I was happy to see Denny get that 1990 125 East Coast Championship. A few riders got done dirty by Honda that season. They pulled the rug out of a lot of young kids that season with revoking contracts that were signed on the dotted line (Button, Craig, Jones and Denny). I loved watching Denny on those 1988 and 1989 Kawasaki KX125's in that MS Racing gear and Scott goggles. Also his father Dave is a great guy and loves to bench race and talk about the HIStory of this great sport that we all love and enjoy. Great show.
Awesome seeing the Bud Man somewhat frequently again and he’s killing it as co host. Keep the shows coming guys as I learn something new on almost every episode, is wonderful hearing hero’s stories on & off the track. Keep kickin dat a$$ WTS
Every time buddy is on. WTS he is MVP he always compliments the the show his stories are great and he knows when to add or listen he would probably be my front runner for permanent co-host plus I remember seeing them on the R&D Suzuki 80 on TNN Sports cavalcade!! Loki would love to see Jason Lawrence j-law be a guest and one that I would love to have around for whiskey throttle Danny Magoo Chandler
Great episode! A couple epic quotes. “Me being the idiot and my dad being an all around Know it all, we made a great team”. “If you ever find yourself in a lake, sink to the bottom and run like hell!” I feel like we need to get an episode of old moto dads. The stories would be awesome with guys like Don Stevenson, Randy Pingree, and Grant Langston’s dad.
I remember Denny mobbing that cbr600 through a neighborhood on an old crusty vid. I thought it was Denney anyway . At that time, I'd never seen anybody ride a sport bike like that lol 😂
Love the Arenacross stories. We ended up meeting up with Denny and Buddy at New Haven in the hotel bar. It was a fun night, and we raced with a hangover the next day.
Awesome hearing and seeing Buddy on the show. Denny is exactly the same in real life as he is on social media. Loud mouthed, inaccurate and direct. (No issue with that). I don't like the guy but it was a good story so worthy of an episode due to the history 👍looking forward to more top 15 career riders making the cut on the show 😀
Never a Stevenson fan and with last weeks episode with chicken and this week I’m reminded again of how boisterous and full of himself he is loving the sound of his own voice. Last week it was almost as if it was Langston butting in constantly as if the show was about him. This week I’m like “oh …? another Stevenson episode. Agonising “ blah blah bla mr me” show. Buddy was and always a breath of fresh air. So down to earth and humble.
@@8931888 yeh I totally agree. Denny is a mouth. No one could get a word in. His nickname should be Mr Interjection. The worst move I made was to follow him on instagram. Do yourself a favour. Don't! Lol. Stevenson = the know it all king rider who spent his entire career 5th to 15th 🤣
Ok talking about odd crashes., in 1993/4 at Las Vegas SX the was an incident where I a rider endo’d on a triple bails and lands on the back of another riders seat. It happen in front of me but was looking elsewhere, my boss said holy sh’ ‘ .. when I looked I saw a bike with two riders slide into turn, stop then dude on back hops off the bike and rider takes off. They talked about in Cycle news saying if you have footage of this, even though it was illegal to video, come forward you won’t get in trouble. Anyway wonder if you have any info
During one of the breaks - Bud Man should have tossed on a really bad toupee , that only covered the top of his head , to get Denny see and realize how stupid his hairdoo look's today , as it did in the late 80"s ! Great Job guys !!! "Thoroughly Entertained" Great memories . . .
Control your snowflakes on fite club Denny!! Reported and 30 FB ban for saying open face helmets might kill someone. Haha. A guy said to enforce a kidney belt/open face helmet rule, I said we'd kill someone....30 day ban. Ffs Denny, who do you let in that group?! 😂😂🤦

Dude I do the same thing and I just did it today. Watched 2006 outdoors. And watched the 1996 supercross. I love doing that.
Love listening to Buddy and Denny👍🏼
I could listen to 90's Moto stories all day. Thanks ping
This is awesome one of the best ones I still have an autographed poster Denny signed in my room at my parents
Probably an unpopular opinion but Stephenson was one of my favorite commentators during his short run in the 2000’s

I remember 1988 Hot Dog Shootout at finger lakes Columbia,Mo. Denny, Chad Pederson, John Kitsch, etc. Emig was there in 1989 with Donny Schmidt.

Great episode Ping. Please consider Budman or Denny as co-host in the future. They are both really engaging and bring a ton to the show.
Denny is awesome a hero from the midwest
Great show
Denny rules
Every time buddy is on. The best….man this is great great stuff! Have Denny sit in with you to interview others…where’s Charlie Bogard? 😬

all the subjects so true, budman was at wheels of oxford back in 02 andvmy 2 yr old knew who he was, its nuts to think how under rated our sport is.
I wanna see brock sellers on the show
Great Episode!!
best damn podcast ever period. then gypsy tales
Buddy is cool...
Another kickass show.Buddy is a damn good cohost
Arenacross came to nutter center in Dayton Ohio
Is the same city of F&S Suzuki
That Denny, Guy Cooper, and few others raced for
2:53:12 That's not Michelle.
Getting my beer and pop corn
😎👍
*Stephenson, NOT Stevenson
Denny raced the Greeley SX here in Colorado a few times.
I just rewatch the crusty films 1 2 3
Didn’t realize how much Denny was in them. So funny
That crash at the Oklahoma Supercross........OUCH!!!
Awesome hearing and seeing Buddy on the show. Denny is exactly the same in real life as he is on social media. Loud mouthed, inaccurate and direct. (No issue with that). He’s cool dudes. When you come from a tiny town these opportunities are not often 👍🚲
Goddamn I love Denny…he’s so dope
Hahaha..great stuff...you guys lived the dream!
It was great!
Great Ohio clay and weather
I live 30 minutes from where kenworthys stood
Damnnnn he gotta a Miguel's Jr cup. That's the only thing I miss about Cali is Miguel's Jr 😂
The obvious request j-law, but I’ve been obsessed with rewatching Fox T3 it would be fucking sick to see Danny Ham
He's an over aggressive young man! That loves to ride hard and felt if he didn't get that start he wasn't gonna win that moto he had in the bag 💯
very true !!!!
Alex martin is probably luckiest guy currently with no 250 title in the 450 class with a support ride
Gosh...I’m so laughing with the arenacross stories...
Come live in Ohio you'll get 2-4 seasons weather during the same day 😂
I loved motoworld
EMX in Europe is getting kids way faster than American motocross..by a mile
I never liked the 1990 rm250, ended up going back to the rm125 that year
I remeber breaking it in and fouling like 4 plugs before I rejetted.
What's Denny's fantasy website????
Ok talking about odd crashes., in 1993/4 at Las Vegas SX the was an incident where I a rider endo’d on a triple bails and lands on the back of another riders seat. Listen to the Damon Huffman show… Shane trittler landed on the back of his bike and I was behind them when it happened.
During one of the breaks - Bud Man should have tossed on a really bad toupee , that only covered the top of his head , to get Denny see and realize how stupid his hairdoo look's today , as it did in the late 80"s !
Great Job guys !!! "Thoroughly Entertained" Great memories . . .
We still use fax in germany
To belda retire healthy. Belda?
the big promoter killed AX period, left venues that sold out for new building and truly killed there sport very sad…
44:05 - I fast forward through supercross's. There's just too much stupid bullshit.
Enter fite club at your own risk.....very misleading title. They are report and ban happy in there. Lame AF
.YOU CANT SAY AF!!! GET OUT!!!!!😂🖕
FXR.... PLEASE make a new fucking commerical. I think we're all tired of seeing the current one.
