    Few tips and comments:
    1. Don't rub fragrance into your wrists or anywhere, it messes up the composition and dulls the scent, and decreases how long it stays on your skin. Instead, pat it on your skin.
    2. For your signature scents get scents that last a long time on your skin, but this doesn't apply to summer scents since they usually don't have much longevity, but some long-lasting versatile scents can be used during the summer
    3. You can spray cologne behind both ears which can be a good spot to spray your scents, and also spray your cologne on the lower part of your neck or each side of your collarbone, in case your partner kisses the upper section of your neck.
    4. I wouldn't recommend getting extremely popular/overrated cologne like for example Dior Sauvage, Versace Eros, Bleu de Chanel, Acqua DI Gio although they have good scents and other really good lines, 1 million, you get the point. People will recognize them on you even though they can smell different on most people. You won't smell unique, and you'll end up smelling like so many other people. Instead, get ones with similar vibes or versatility, or not-so-popular fragrances like niche ones or popular brands that have an underrated scent.
    Overall, really good tips, many guys will appreciate these tips!

      Does not totally agree with 4. Wear what you want and wear it with confidence.
      You cant avoid people wearing similar perfumes just like people using same kind of phones like apple and samsung. Just rock whatever you like to use. Simple

    • @Equinox8
      @Equinox8 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@doubledown4957 I mean yeah you have a point and someone will inevitably go in public with your favorite fragrance, but like with phones you don't have to buy the newest and best iphone, you can buy the iphone x and still have all you need in a phone. Same with colognes, you can wear dior sauvage for example, but ysl y parfum and prada luna rossa carbon are good alternatives. Still, i plan on buying big name brand colognes so it's not like i'm against big brands, just that i choose not to buy something like bleu de chanel or eros.

    • @qutuveo6332
      @qutuveo6332 ปีที่แล้ว +49

      @@doubledown4957 Yeah it also depends on the occasion as well. If you're wearing popular colognes to the club then of course you'll smell basic, but if you wear them out and about doing normal things people are just gonna think you smell good, especially considering most people don't wear any fragrance at all.

    • @Woofreestyle
      @Woofreestyle ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@doubledown4957 Yeah the only thing is people associate certain smells with certain people. You don’t want to go around smelling like someone’s ex. I do agree most people don’t wear fragrance so you probably won’t encounter this problem.

      with no 4. I disagree. Especially if you are a young college/university student looking for a girl. Girls do not care about how "unique" you smell, they generally want a good looking, nice smelling guy who is validated by her friend group. Which is why mass appealing fragrances are so popular and works so well.

      @@timo.vargasdon’t rub just take it from me i’ve spent so much on fragrance and oils.
      you should avoid spritzing and rubbing for two reasons. First, rubbing your wrists together can dull top notes (or the scents you smell in the first five minutes of applying perfume). secondly, it mixes the perfume vigorously with your natural oils, which can change the way it smells.
      so when those chem majors tell you the molecules themselves might not change, just know the scent surely does.

    It is actually quite amazing how strongly you can link a specific scent with someone. My dad has been using ysl y for a very long time and now everytime I smell it I automatically think of him almost like it's an impulse and stuff like that can go a long way when it comes to your relationships. As long as a scent is being produced and worn by others you literally become unforgettable.

    Current favorites:
    Summer: Versace Pour Homme (the mix of citrus and white florals is just so gorgeous, so clean and sooo fresh, a fragrance litteraly no one can dislike)
    Colder weather: Rochas Man (doesn't perform the best but smells amaaazing, gives the impression of having a creamy cappucino on a winter's morning, exotic bottle tho, given the price it's a no-brainer, great blind buy)
    School/Office/Classy events: Terre d'hermes (very unique, smells really sophisticated and mature yet really so inviting with that ''dirty orange'', won't suit everyone's taste tho)

    A couple tips for anyone getting into fragrances
    Sample first, don't blind buy(unless you ballin like that)
    Unless you planning on only having under 10 frags, buy small bottles 1.0 or 1.7 is fine as once you get collection growing (oh boy will it grow!) You won't end up using all the juice as you will have so many to choose from

This is because rubbing can actually alter the fragrance and its intended scent profile. Instead, try gently dabbing the fragrance onto your skin and letting it naturally absorb for a more accurate representation of the scent.

    Just want to reiterate, fragrance should be noticed, not announced. People are obsessed with sillage and projection, but it's offensive to wear a fragrance so strong that it is inescapable by those around you. Your scent should be personal. Trust, people can smell you when you walk by, but they shouldn't be able to smell you from feet away while you're standing still.

    This is my current "collection" because I still think its a little bit empty but its slowly progressing :
    1.- Stronger with you absolutely Emporio Armani (I use it mostly on cold days and when I have to go to my office but not too many sprays because it is a very strong fragrance sometimes)
    2.- Le Beau Eau de toilette JPG ( This is more like a spring or summer fragrance tbh but it smells great if you like sweet scents like me, this is pure coconut mixed with vanilla, great option for informal meetings or casual things )
    3.- Scandal Eau de toilette JPG ( Another sweet fragrance which in my opinion is heavily underrated and overhated , works amazing but just like the first one, it could be too sweet if you spray it a lot )
    4.- 212 NYC Carolina Herrera ( I almost have this one empty but its a great choice to use if you want an after workout fragrance , cheap and good )
    I'm looking forward to get for this spring either Sauvage EDT , Yves Saint Laurent Y EDP , Prada L'Homme or Prada Luna Rossa Carbon.
    For the summer I think that one of the best options could be Acqua Di Gio Profondo, Dolce Gabbana Light Blue intense or Le Beau Le Parfum.

    Can you please classify which type of scents to apply in daytime and night?
    Although, you gave examples of fragrances to use with different situations. However, I'm from India and brands like these aren't readily available, nor do I have a clue of how they smell?
    How about you classify as
    For example- Woody scents in daytime/citrusy in nighttime.
    Just clarify the above part to me, so that whenever I go out to purchase a cologne, I can clarify the salesperson what exactly I'm looking for. Because usually I go and purchase whichever I like, but I'm often confused, which fragrance is suitable when

      Everyone will give you different answers (fragrances are subjective) but here are some safe options that I use or have used in the past:
      Work: Bleu de Chanel EDP. Very classy fragrance that is perfect for work/classes.
      Dating/women: Eros EDP. Some will say it's overused but I rarely smell this on guys. I have owned multiple fragrances but none have gotten me as much compliments as this one. If it's a intimate date (like watching a movie together or something) don't go overboard with this fragrance. It's LOUD.
      Day to day: YSL Y EDP. Imo the best blue fragrance out there. I also use this for work and have gotten lots of compliments. On the expensive side but it takes a long time before you run out.
      Also a side note, don't blind buy fragrances. Learn from my mistakes and try them out in your local store. Good luck!

    too all the ppl in the comments with "chemistry degrees" (as if that means something) you can literally look up any perfumer talking about why you shouldn't rub your fragrances. But hey its your money and smell do what u want ig. also most "typical" fragrances (designer) 1-3 sprays is generally not enough, a good rule of thumb for new ppl to perfumery is start heavy and pull back till you find the perfect amount. Every thing will perform differently on everyone so dont take a fragantica or yt "experts" opinion on longevity as scripture but more as a starting point. im also not suggesting you do this blind before going to work/school but at home where u wont offend anyone.
