I had one who failed to thrive and I tried everything like you did, but she didn't make it. It broke my heart. Her little name was Minnie Pearl. Glad you had better success.

I watched this and tried it... My baby was doing so well and eating it after 4 or 5 days of not wanting anything to do with food... but... they choked on it and sadly past away today... 😭 Rest in peace, Beebs...

I really enjoy watching your videos. I am a first time chicken mom and my babies are now four weeks old. I have been obsessed with them from day 1. I have used all your suggestions as far as the feeder, waters, and I even build my chicken run very similar to yours. I just wanted to say thank you for all your help. My babies are all very healthy and happy. I do have one question. I have 3 nesting boxes built into their coop. Do you think that is enough for 15 birds? Thank for your advice and I will say a prayer for your baby. :)

Jessica Munda OMG, Jessica! Thank you so much. I can't take a lot of credit...I have a Pinterest board full of ideas that I drew inspiration from. I started this channel to help people who were new to chickens, as well as to record my journey...like a journal. Thank you for sharing with me...you are a great encouragement to me today. I hope your babies are doing well. What breeds did you get? I call week 4, "Week Ugly" LOL! I was just looking back at last year and OMG...but they grew up to be beauties! Enjoy your babies, they grow up so fast. Thanks again.

Jessica Munda oh, about the best boxes. I have 7 hens and 2 community best boxes. 2 hens fit more than comfortabky, but guess what? They want the spot someone else already occupies! And they are loud about registering their complaint! I'm actually thinking of dividing my two boxes into four units.

My babies are now 5 weeks old and I just moved them outside into their “big girl” coop. They were outgrowing their brooder and no longer using their ecoglow. I am having to use a heat lamp in their coop because we are still getting into the high 30’s at night. I am not a fan of heat lamps... they scare me but they just needed more room. I ordered a cozy coop radiant warmer for them to use but I am still waiting for it to come in the mail. As far as my breeds I have 2 lavender Orpingtons, 2 light Brahmas, 2 Dominiques, 2 americaunas, 2 Dixie Rainbows, 2 brown leghorns, 2 Columbian whynadotts, and one Asian Black. They are all so sweet. I am so in love with them. I have a 4 year old border collie named Abby and they follow her around the yard. I think they think she is their mom. She will actually lick them clean. She is also very protective of them too. She will chase off any squirrels, chipmunks, or other birds that come into the yard when they are out. :). This whole experience has been wonderful. Thank you for the inspiration. It was your videos that inspired me to get chicks in the first place and I can’t thank you enough for that. 😊🐣🐥😁

Jessica Munda Hi Jessica! Thank you for your kind words. How is the move going with your babies? Isn't it amazing how attached we get to these birds??? I never dreamed it.

My chick wasn’t drinking. But she was eating. So I got a water bottle cap and fed it to her. It took her a bit but she got the hang of it eventually. She’s doing very well now. 🪐🦎✨

I am so glad your chick is doing better. The water bottle cap idea was a goid one! I'll remember it. Always looking for tips.

Ashton Mendoza my chick now is doing fine. It just so happened that the weekly dose of corrid (aka amprolium) I was giving to the chicks in their water was affecting that one chick, so I stopped the use of it and she’s fine now. She’s now 19 weeks old and just about starting to lay 🥰
