How cute! I'm going through something similar with 5 kittens in foster (with their mom). They're just starting to try a bit of kitten food, but still nursing mostly. Two are very excited about the kitten food. Their mom seems to want to start weaning.

When i was growing up. We had chicken horse goat sheep duck and Turkey. I really love it and miss it so much. I wish we can move in to a town that lets you keep them. In tell then i will have to watch your Videos or go see my mom in Puerto Rico. They are so cute!! I Thanks for sharing.

I have one rescue chick, and I bought him grower feed, he doesnt go near it. I tried wetting it and after tatsting it now he makes a yuck expression and doesnt go near it. How do I get him to eat it? Is chick feed different from grower feed? I've been feeding him cooked brown rice, some raw white rice, wet bread, ham, banana, baby spinach, and I let him go in the yard where he eats little maggots, young plant shoots and other insects. Is that enough? I always have the feed in his cage with water 24/7. But he wont touch it. Im wondering if I should go see if there is such a thing as starter or baby chick feed. Ive been to two places now, and neither has anything like it. My chick is about 3 weeks old I think. He has feathers at the end of wings and tail, and the rest of him is furry more or less.

chicks dont really need to eat for the first day or two of their life, they still have calories from their yolk. but this is a valid way to teaching them. usually though they seem to get the idea by themselves, others ive tried to teach but they die anyway, i think some of them just are too stupid to live. ive had one chick literally just refuse to cuddle in the warm spot of the cage, wander away and die even after i hand fed it.

They are so adorable...AND GROW SO FAST!!!! I have one that I literally see the wings grow from AM to PM. So strange..it's a single chick that survived mama's murderous rampage. I could only save the one..so now mama..I don't have a Broody that will take it.

@Rockadoggies I think maybe it's a matter of teaching them what the bowl is for? Makes sure they know that bowls and such mean food and water, since it's easier to feed them that way but their instinct would probably tell them just to eat what's on the ground.
