Thank you for the shoutout on your channel! I appreciate it and you've got another Subscriber out of me and my family.
99,9% of open box Lego is not complete… So if you do decide to buy, you know you’ll have to deal with missing pieces. Friends are not your friend… hard to resell.
The lady selling the Legos sounds pretty uncertain that all of the pieces are there and all of the pieces are in the right boxes. You should have listened to her more closely. I think she was pretty upfront about the condition of the sets.
She still tried getting 5 bucks out of it
i DO BELIEVE i WOULD BE TAKING THAT RADIO BACK TO THE GUY WHO SOLD IT TO YOU. Guess he is a very dishonest man!! Thanks for sharing...it reminds us to always look in the boxes!
I don’t think the Lego is a bad buy. They're expensive, if you just leave it when it's "retired" the price most likely go up. Get your kids to piece everything back together lol
I took all my grandson’s legos and separated the pieces by color. Then I took the instruction manuals, found the pieces and put them in a separate ziploc bag with the manual.
Remember a lady told you if you were missing a piece, Lego will send it to you.
I think she accurately relayed that she truly had no idea if all the pieces were in the boxes. She was just giving an example with the bus set. Have your kids reassemble the sets and keep them busy for hours.
wow that was a rough morning, but as long as your goods always overwhelm your bads, you will be A OK
Dave, that’s why I love you. You actually show the reality in reselling. We all make mistakes ❤
The LEGO manuals have a list of pieces in the back. You can try to use that to make it easier. I buy bulk Lego and have to deal with that. I breakdown and sort by color, and then use the back of the manual to piece them out! Give your kids something to do lol.
Don't feel bad. I make bad purchases all the time. Bought a vintage Scooby Doo action figure that I was sure was worth a ton. Bought it for $20 and sold it for $13 🤣🤣
Not going to lie - sorting through those Lego boxes and arranging them kinda sounds fun to me...now I just need to find somewhere that will pay me to do that for a living lol
I am sure You could find someone willing to buy You're services. If I bought bulk Lego and didn't have time to fool with sorting I would pay someone...i hate the damn things lol!
The ones driving around looking for gaming are resellers looking for the low hanging fruit, while if you know what you’re looking for, you’ll find items everywhere you go.
With the radio, it happens when you look up comps and your brain gets that dopamine hit. My biggest issue is electronics with the battery house coroded or rusted from the batteries being left in.
my big mistakes happen with glassware like murano glass and others. i swear i look them over closely even feeling for chips, cracks and find them in perfect condition. until i buy it and get it to the car. then i see, plain as day, the chip. and realize it's worthless. can't even tell you how many times that has happened.
We have all had these kind of days .. good reminder to slow down and evaluate purchases
Dave you should of bought the talking animal on the table instead of the legos.
I see TINA!
It's hard sometimes to remember to check. I did the lego thing once. I know better now, still do it. Double check for cracks, still don't. Look over for stains, get home, find a stain.
It’s not a bad buy but I would have offered them a $100. I love selling legos and sorting and putting them together.😊
Not me shouting at the screen, "Don't buy that printer! Don't do it!" Lol!
In comparison the LEGOs aren't that bad. Sell them all together in the same condition you purchased them (with the same disclaimer) and at least get your money back. SOMEONE will love that challenge!
That’s the only way to deal with that mess, time is money unless he puts them together w the the kids.
Not looking in the box is a rookie mistake on the stereo. 😂
Anyone else see the ghost face mask thing in the same box as the harry potter wand? Was not sure if it was just the hang tag or if it actually was a mask
Dave did buy it.😊
You can sell all of the minifigs in lots and sell the rest in bulk by weight.
4:22 On the knife table, back row, there’s a Camillus US Military pocket knife. Depending on the year and condition those knives sell anywhere from $25-$50 or more.
Thanks for the tip!!
We did this mistake with my daughters…. Sort by color… then it was pretty smooth finding the pieces per kit 😅
I actually find sorting Lego to be relaxing. But only when I have nothing better to do or very stressed.
Put the Legos all in one big lot!
Thank you Dave for this informative Video.
Well, when I buy something that turns out to be a not so good buy, I will get what I can for it anyways. Some $ is better than no $. I just figure I'm making garage sale type sales on those items. And I try and offset losses with good profits on other items. When I'm not sure if I want to really buy something for a certain price, I have a "pause clause" I give it an extra minute or two to decide whether or not to buy it.
Dude it’s not a bad deal it’s just that you don’t want to sort it. She was 100% clear about it. If you sort it and then you can make money for sure.
If someone is too lazy to get out of their car and look for themselves, I will always tell them I don’t have what they’re looking to buy.
The scotty cameron putter cover would have been good as Ling as it was in good condition and less than $10 or so. That kind sells for $40 to $80.
I worked in the.home electronics department at Kmart many many years ago while in college. People would return merchandise to the customer service desk for a refund and the employees never checked the contents. I had several instances where a returned box had a different used item switched inside. Perhaps that guy bought the radio without ever opening it and sold it to you with a switched item inside. You never know. He may have been honest with you, maybe not.
The stereo guy clearly stated that he replaced the radio, but never used the amp.
To be fair , the lady did tell you that they were mixed up which is far more than you would expect from someone selling Legos on a garage sale. And its her right to charge astronomical prices. In this case, it was your fault. The Jensen guy, on the hand, looks like a scammer. After all why would he say it was new, never used and that he verified etc when none of that was true? I guess in this case it's both his fault for being a scammer and yours for not checking, altho its a damn shame that we can't believe people..
That’s cool I live in the Daytona Beach area born and raised here. The prices at that one yard sale was crazy!! My daughter loves legos and we wouldn’t mind taking the time sorting the sets out but it’s a lot of work!!!
Idk if I’m crazy but I’d love to go through all those Lego pieces sorting and putting them together!!!
Aww I’m so sorry you had a bad day, love all your videos ❤❤😊
Gotta love the illegal switchblade. 😮
I had this happen to me with Harley Davidson stuff. I got new in box 2 times from Harley sellers and both times it was not new. After that I check every Harley seller stuff when they say it is new and it never is. So I am done with Harley stuff they just lie.
I will do the Lego sorting for you!!! I have nothing else to do and I like doing things like that!! I live in GA though.
It's a (Dave Dink Day). That's where Dave's brain and the purchases are just not working. Dave have a better day tomorrow.
Inflatable wife… “You should probably do it for dad, though.” 😆 WTG mom for rolling with it and having a sense of humor.
$20 for those SquishMlws?!!?? And $5 for the smaller!?!?!??! That's just about more than retail! People are giving them away for free on Marketplace
you see how that mom is selling her sons printer/tablet for PENNIES of what its worth?
yeah when i joined the army my parents cleared my stuff out and had a garage sale, that included a binder of pristine double sleeved 1st edition pokemon cards.
she apparently sold the entire binder for 20 bucks. there were multiple holo 1st ed charizards in there.
I honestly hate Lego both as a reseller and parent I mean once it’s built and they play it falls apart and the time consumed when picked up to sell. Awful toy in general IMO
Is it just me or does the guy at 4:30 talking about DVDs with OP sounds like Billy Bob Thornton
DOn't worry, 5 years in and I also do buys like "Was I drunk??"
haha, about the 27 min mark there was birds chirping and I had to keep pausing to see if it was at my house or on the video.... we all make bad buys... its just part of the process
Mini Figs should get you a decent part of the Lego money spent, and the radio was just a douche move on the sellers part. 🤷♂
On Harley machine that bad guy just out right LIED. I hate dishonest people. 😢
I’ll take those Harry Potter legos off your hands! Lol! That wasn’t a bad buy as far as cost, although the friends sets are notorious for going down in value, not up. So I would have passed on those, but the other sets are worth it if the pieces are all there. But I understand if you don’t want to go through it all and sort it out. That’s kind of the part that I love doing. It’s like finding treasure to me. But your real money is in the minifigs. So start scanning those and see if you have any good ones. Might get your money back with just the minifigs if there are good ones in there.
Based on comments… this is really all just about a freakin box of LEGOS!? Dude… ok some LEGO pieces were missing, someone call the press.
pig in a poke! or buyer beware! I write it on my hand when I go shopping.
There must be pieces missing if she is telling you how to get some missing pieces. 🤣
I got to know Dave "Are they building any houses around there"
I do dvds. It’s called living in the sticks with no internet. 😬
Dave Rebel the Reseller had quite a few Squishmellows for sale in her store.
Hindsight is 20/20, or in this case not $150. If she would have spent 30 hours checking all the pieces, maybe $100. As an eBay purchase, no more than $50. I do think you are too hard on yourself.
You gotta always open the box for sure.
Don’t beat yourself up….we all make mistakes at times…just move ahead👍you said Tina love Jesus puzzles…maybe she would do some Lego sorting…maybe she could get the kids involved???
YA GOTTA PAY ATTENTION!!!!
Sorry you got scammed! We have had our share of bad buys too!
What do you expect when you buy from "Buffalo Bill". It puts the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose.😂
I have trusted people before and been taken but just learned to check everything really well, I’m too trusting 😊
its not a ADH video without terrible buys...god only knows how someone so bad at this was able to quit their job....
2:33 never do crimes with this kid. He'll give you up in a second.
you should totally pay one of your kids to sort the Legos for you! 😂😅
If u fig out what pieces ur missing lego will send you the pieces and the inverter was new n blue tooth that wireless too
You are always doing bad buys, knowing you always have your phone with you to look up the items…..
Why didn’t you ask about the Golf Clubs/Titlest bag or the sports Jersey? Smh,
Honestly I would've donated the legos to a school that desperately needed them and called it a day. We all make bad buys now and again...don't be too hard on yourself.
Phoof is the only thing I have found to get cigarette smell from plush.
Do you mean, Pooph, for pet stains? So it really works for you? I gotta try it 🤔
@@willow_alley phoof for pet smells yes! I tried everything on some items my sister knit for me and nothing worked. I put them in a bag with some phoof litter deodorizer and the smell is gone.
Love your channel… Question why does your mom not call you wife by her name? Always hear her just refer to her as “your wife”
Oh bummer Dave!
It’s ok to make a bad buy you always win with the big picture nice day of picking 🤓
Your good. I would have drove back to his house rang his bell and called him an out n out LIAR. I don’t like people who lie and I will call them out on it. Not to get my money back just to let them know that they are scumbags. Excuse my French!😊❤
Love that your mom wears her love n faith shirts
I hate when they tell you that they looked it up on EBay or they paid 50 and they want 40 😂😂😂…one guy even had print outs of a bobble head bucs player that I have and know it’s not worth more than 10.00 his eBay print out was showing a listing for 60.00….😂😂 I couldn’t help myself and said to him…. I’m certain the soles are not showing that! 😂😂 and walked away!!!
Let the kids sort out the Legos.😄
Always gran ghost face mask especially if In package bc sone of the OGs can go for a pretty penny
You did that before with a set of tools. You see it’s high resell value so you grab it and bolt thinking you pulled one over on the seller.
Dave, Dsve, Dave..when, oh when are you going to learn to look inside the boxes when you buy electronics, etc, instead of taking the sellers word for it?
It would've been a real hoot to see the guy's reaction if you had checked out that Harley item..
That lego deal is not that bad of a deal……worst case scenario you can sell them at $6 or $7 a pound and you can sell the minifigs separately. You can even sell the boxes and manuals separately so your being to hard on yourself for that one. I would have given them $100 for them.
Why is it less value at a yard sale than on eBay?
Yup. I got tricked recently with what I thought was a vintage Microsoft mouse in the original box, I didn't bother to actually open it and look. I ended up with a worthless Logitech mouse instead.
The lego sets not complete that's why he couldn't finish he lost pieces and lego dont give free replacement pieces!
Don’t beat ur self up & just blame on the early hour. That guy actually to me acted like he didn’t want u to open it up he was pitching it was to fast. & wd nt slow down his chatter which is a sighns of lying & diverting ur attention.
I wd have lived it if u had pulled out ur phone to test it but he kept his hand on it & telling u how new it was never been used.
Don’t worry Karma will get him!!
Lincoln logs will send you lost pieces too
The mom and the switchblade. Lol
I hate when he acts like he’s buying plushies for his kids knowing damn well he’s trying to flip em 😂😂 this guy is a crook
He does buy the Squishmallows for his kids. They all collect them and he has shown their collection on his channel.
@KillaMikeYL You obviously haven't watched any of his videos. Dave is very honest. Time for you to move along.
I think the guy being drunk would have stopped me from buying anything. 😬
Did the timewsrp back to a nubie mentality. It happens.
Id of taken that stereo back!
Your kids gonna love them squish mellows
Passing on the Ghost Face Scream Mask?? Oh you got it!! What year?
Just learn to say no, and walk away😂❤😂
Dave I didn't know about sku's when I started can you tell me how to delete my inventory and relist everything. I would sure appreciate it
Maybe you can make a video or put in your next video
Omg Legos wow how exciting but not for 150.00 never
But it looks like a fun time putting them together
You should have brought the chocolate snowman then you could have ate that and felt a little better for the bad buys 😂😂
I say it again sell what you don’t want to try to compete by the pound. Not a crazy profit but you should make one without as much work
