I ordered the 300 kit from Partsvu with everything in it. They told me that they weren’t sure the water impeller was going to fit for my serial number motor. I bought it anyways and it works perfectly.
When you reinstall the lower unit, you want the drive in forward gear and lower unit in forward gear so that you can spin the prop by hand to line the splines up. This ensures that the splines are properly aligned.

Instead of marking the shifter rod and the shifter in the foot, why didn't you just take it off in neutral and put it back in neutral?
