Hi Alan thank you for watching our video and for your continued support. It means a lot to us.
Sea Jay certainly build a nice boat. We can’t wait to go for the maiden voyage.
Wow I’m sure yours would go along nicely with a 25Hp.

Hi Guys you must be local to me. Great video showcasing the boat and the extra features. Its a bit hard trying to see these boats in the flesh becouse they are selling before they hit the yards.
Given that you ordered this boat pakage specifically, and that you drive a Ram, what made you choose the 3.7 over the 3.9 or 3.98? I am in the same boat (pun intended) deciding on what length.
Also side note: Agreed, the team at Mak Marine are great to deal with.

Hi Joe thank you for watching our video and your kind words.
Originally we were looking at a light weight roof top tinny to keep keep the RAM under weight. We were looking at a punt style boat until it was obvious that a punt style boat was more designed for flat water, which would limit our boating options.
We then came across the Sea Jay Nomad series, which had a fairly flat bottom giving stability while stationary, and a pointed bow for cutting thru the chop.
We then chose the HS (High Side) model which is better suited for safe guarding against reptiles with large teeth…..hope so.
The next option was the length. We chose the 3.7 as it appeared to be a good sIze boat without going too big for a roof top tinny.
We first looked at the 3.5 however the 3.7 was more suitable for what we were after.
The 3.9 would probably be a better boat, however it is certainly a large boat for a car roof.
Another consideration was the portable trailer option. We chose a Mangrove Jack, I understand that they are suitable for boats up to 3.8
Apparently they do have an extension piece that allows boats up to 3.9
One thing to consider is larger the boat, heavier the boat, stronger the boat loader needed, heavier the boat loader, bigger the boat, bigger the motor needed, heavier the motor.
We actually needed a GVM upgrade to allow us to carry the 3.7 and associated equipment and still staying well within the limits.
Hope all this information allows you to choose the type and size of boat that suits your needs.
