Thanks. I had a feeling that this could be a nightmare. Thanks for keeping me sane & giving the mechanic in business. So glad for the warning !!! 🍻

Thank you for making this video.
Now I know what level of stoicism I need to achieve before running that damn cable tomorrow...

Very good video. Can you cut the antenna cable under the fender & use wirenuts or use solder to install the non powered (or after market) antenna?

It helps a lot, although it also helped me think about having the work done by an audio installer or someone likewise

But, can you get it out? I pulled the glove box off and saw all the air bag stuff, but once you find or see the green markings, will it actually come out, or is it packed into a rubber loom with other wires? Well, I guess I'll know in a couple hours

I was able to get one from the dealer. I asked for a 1st gen Tacoma manual antenna and it fits.

you could cut the cable and solder it on to your new antenna and not have to run all that cable.

I thought about that, but the antennae has a plastic core, and wires around it. I'm not sure about solder. ??

ALL that to replace an antenna? Too much for me. I'd loose myself. I guess I'll be heading to my local Body shop or is a mechanic?

I just want to replace this stupid, useless power antenna for an aftermarket stubby one without completely disassembling the entire vehicle. can anyone answer if it's possible to keep the power antenna assembly installed and just replace the antenna mast?
