Just found your channel and now will watch everyday. Your cakes are the prettiest I have seen in many years. Love all of them. You are a very talented lady. Used to bake professional looking cakes 7 years ago and they never looked like your. Love them and can tell you love what you do.
What a great video she obviously puts so much pride into her work amazing looking cakes she took 3 1/2 hours to make a stunning cake, she is a great role model
+Rosie's Dessert Spot I was actually set on making it, but recently my mum has banned me from baking sweets >~< I bake when I am stressed, and during the school year I was doing 1-2 baking sessions and that ended us up with so many sweets we were giving them to family and neighbors. So I went to the kitchen today, recipe list written and in my hand, and when my mum asked me what I was making she flipped it! 'too much sugar' this and 'we need to be more healthy' that. we are a heathy family, but because mum is a fitness nut (by lord she can be overly strict about my diet. I do 2hours of exercise 6 days a week, but she didn't want me to eat more then 1200 cal a day! all because of an article on Facebook DX) I guess this cake will have to wait. Maybe Christmas, or my birthday. It's in my mind to make it ^^ so I won't give up! maybe bake in secret :o
Rosie, you made my day! ;-) I recently learned how to do ruffles with buttercream and fell in love with the ruffles cake design... but personally I don't like the cream. Now I'm looking forward to trying your version... Thanks so much! - Greetings from Switzerland
Hi, Rosie. That ombre cake looks absolutely beautiful and elegant. You are really smart about your marvelous baking. I have a question: what's your secret on how you made your wonderful cakes? Please let me know. Also, do you have any Christmas related projects coming next month? Please let me know.
Hi +Byron Chandler, thank you as always for the lovely comment :) I don't really have any secret process that works for making cakes. I guess I have shared the steps I take in the videos, they are pretty regular :) and yes I certainly do x) l have a few Christmas related videos in store for next month and possibly the end of this month.
Just discovered you while I was looking for ideas for my boy's first birthday cake. You are a true artist, thank you for sharing your amazing skills. Have you done an autumnal themed cake yet?
Thank you so much Elina :) I will be making an autumn cake for next week actually :) thanks giving themed (which I think is autumn? here in Australia Thanks Giving isn't a holiday unfortunately)
Great tutorial. Loved doing my cake this weekend and it turned out great. However, I don't know what you were doing different than me and on an 8" cake with fondant, using the thinning process w/ the ball tool but no changing of color of the fondant, it took me 6 hours. Your video says it took you 3 hours. I also was using my Kitchenaid to assist in rolling out the dough to help speed the process.
Stunning. How far in Advance can I put the ruffles on the fondant cake? Refrigerate or not to refrigerate after? I’m planning to put it on 2 days in advance.
+maz khatun with buttercream hey... that is a good question. I'm thinking you can probably use the 104 tip to make something similar. I will have to look into it :) thanks for your comment! x
+maz khatun I've only seen people do it as a "ruffled-collar" type of design, not as intricate as this one. But you could try. They do use the 104 tip as Rosie has said.
Hi +sura alasaad, yes I would say you can :) I noticed that marzipan doesn't dry up as well as lfondant though, it tends to take a little longer. This might cause the ruffles to wilt a little. But it's definitely worth trying :)
+Rosie's Dessert Spot I will Rosie but I think I will cheat as I have my beautiful daughter in law visiting next week and she is keen to make a cake with me so this one is it I reckon, many hands make light work so we should ruffle in half the time lol.
I wish you lived here in the UK and did classes! Would have loved to learn all these techniques from you! This is the best ruffles tutorial! Thank you for all your videos. It helps a beginner like myself a lot :) xx
Thank you so much +samzlicious :) I haven't started teaching face to face yet, but I'd love to teach around the world via cake expos, do live demonstrations and hold bake and take classes too. It would be a dream come true lol. Maybe one day we might meet in the UK under these circumstances, who knows ;D
+Rosie's Dessert Spot Aww that would be great! I am a big fan of yours! Hopefully one day eh ;) Wish you all the best and hopefully one day your dreams come true. Lots of love from the UK x
+Beautiful Key haha yea it's a little time consuming. But if you are watching a movie or have some music on in the background, time will fly in no time.
Hello, Rosie! This tutorial is absolutely amazing! Really helpful. I have a question: can i stick fondant ruffles to a butter cream frosting on the sides of the cake ( without using the fondant cover)? Really waiting for your reply and opinion. All the best! 🌷🌷🌷
Hi Michelle, honestly I think the steamer will be much gentler on the fondant and cover more area as well. I'm worried spraying water directly onto the cake might get it too too wet.
I'm thinking of making this for my daughter's 1st birthday. Given that it is time consuming I'm considering making it the day before. Do you think it will hold up if so? or any advice on timing?
The cake looks great! I was just wondering how each ruffle would come out if you were to place your small ball tool in the center of each circle and push it onto the cake... avoiding all that fiddling. I think it would work just as well, it would be less tedious and would save an awful lot of time...
Hi Rosie! I would like to know if this design would be possible if the fondant ruffles were attached to a Buttercream base. Do you believe they would attach properly?
Wow, the time you put in was definitely worth the while! This black and white ombre ruffled cake is just stunning!
Elegant....I love this look. I love the black/grey/white ombre as well...it plays off the feminine ruffle so well.

maz khatun u
Wow , amazing can i make like this with marzipan ?
Hi +sura alasaad, yes I would say you can :) I noticed that marzipan doesn't dry up as well as lfondant though, it tends to take a little longer. This might cause the ruffles to wilt a little. But it's definitely worth trying :)
GENIUS!

totally love ur work 😍😍
thank you so much +Shabnum Babar
The cake looks very elegant. :) I am surprised about how long it took to put on the ruffles one at a time.
+Beautiful Key haha yea it's a little time consuming. But if you are watching a movie or have some music on in the background, time will fly in no time.
beautiful x
wow that looks really awesome;)
Love it!!!💞
Hello, Rosie! This tutorial is absolutely amazing! Really helpful. I have a question: can i stick fondant ruffles to a butter cream frosting on the sides of the cake ( without using the fondant cover)? Really waiting for your reply and opinion. All the best! 🌷🌷🌷
Hi +Darya Naidenkova, yes you can :) you might need to moisten the cake all the same so the fondant sticks, but buttercream cake will be fine.
thank you for the video! the end result is gorgeous! do you think I can mist warm water onto the fondant with a spray bottle instead of a steamer?
Hi Michelle, honestly I think the steamer will be much gentler on the fondant and cover more area as well. I'm worried spraying water directly onto the cake might get it too too wet.
Hi dear 🎉 I'm planning to prepare this ruffle pattern on dummy cake on top edible one. How long prior can we prepare and keep.?
Stunning :)
Beautiful! How much fondant did you use for this size cake? X
Would you use the steam gun afterwards to get rid of all the icing sugar bits? Or would that ruin the ruffles.?
How gorgeous Rosie - who'd have thought a grey cake could be so beautiful! - do you use standard fondant or is it a flowerpaste? thanks so much x
Thanks!
Look nice
+Syazreen Elisya thank you!
Did you make all your ruffles first? Or you made them and applied at the same time?
Hi Rosie,
What color fondant do you use to make a champagne or blush pink color?
❤️❤️❤️❤️I love it
+Douha Alsaleh thank you! ;)
Hola buen día!! mi pregunta sería si al hacer estos adornos sobre Chantilly no se caería ??? De antemano gracias y saludos desde Cozumel Quintana Roo
Can i put the ruffles directly to buttercream instead? Do i need to add a dab of buttercream to stick them?
I'm thinking of making this for my daughter's 1st birthday. Given that it is time consuming I'm considering making it the day before. Do you think it will hold up if so? or any advice on timing?
Hi +Candy Thomas, if you were to make a mud cake it would hold up nicely after a day at room temperature :)
Hi +Brittaney Moore, yes I think they will attach just fine onto a buttercream cake :)
+Rosie's Dessert Spot Thank you for the reply, your work is phenomenal, inspiring and it is a joy to be subscribed to your channel!
