    Beautiful cake!!! As always. Teal has been my favorite color since I was a kid, and looked gorgeous in the ombre effect. I also think on a much taller cake, it would be pretty to use shades of fushia that run into purple.

    Hi Vanessa. Up to what number on a pasta machine should i roll out the fondant ruffles ? You make it seem so easy! Is this a good design for a beginner cake decorator? Also, if I do two tiers, will the procedure be the same?. I know you're super busy but Im really hoping to hear from you. You are heaven sent! God bless.

    Hi. I don't know if you still monitor comments for this video, or maybe another TH-cam member wouldn't mind sharing... I watched you put the first ribbon at the top. The two times I have had to attach fondant ribbon to the side of the cake, it was always pulling and stretching (and getting distorted) on me. My 1st attempt I attached similar to how you did it. My 2nd attempt I rolled the ribbon up and then gently unwound it as I attached it to my cake. Both of my attempts were not successful, and I hope to improve. So my question is, do you know if maybe I need to let the fondant "air out" just a little bit so it doesn't pull away from itself? Or maybe mine was just too thick and I needed it to be thinner?... I hope I explained it okay. And I appreciate anyone's comments or suggestions on helping me perfect this technique.... GORGEOUS CAKE BY THE WAY!!!!!!

      Paola Jaimes Foam? Just something soft that it won't stick to.

  • @CakeStyleTV
    @CakeStyleTV  9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Using water for this project is not recommended as you will run the risk of the top layers sagging, and peeling off the cake. It needs to be barely wet, or the ruffles will fall down. In a cake like this, gravity is def working against you.

    Is that two 7" cake or just one? How many layers you cut and filled to make it 3.5 inches high?

      Craven Heart One cake, cut into 3/4" layers, and then filled.

      You used a 7x2 cake pan?

    • @CakeStyleTV
      @CakeStyleTV  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Craven Heart No, I used a 7 x 3" pan. I don't personally use 2" pans, but you could make two of those, and create 4 layers. Our taller cakes are all 4 layers.
