Its ironic Qrow is the one who wants to be with his friends and family but cant due to his bad luck semblance, While Raven wants nothing to do with hers but her power only works with family and those close to her they have that the other wishes they had
Mike McDermott tbf, I don’t think the tribe would appreciate much their leader emanating bad luck to those around them, as it would constantly affect the other members of the tribe
I’m pretty sure they did that on purpose
Just shows how much of a writing genius Monty was.
Damn, I never realized that but it's totally true.
usually you want what you cant have
Qrow: I only drink when I'm depressed
Ruby: But you always drink?
Qrow: ...

Tony Redgrave if he stops drinking, the collective hangover will kill him

Qrow: I have crippling depression

Yang: "Hey Ruby, what would you call our uncle if he was an archer?"
Ruby: "An even greater danger to himself and others?"
Yang: "Well... I was gonna say Qrow and Arrow..."
Damnit, Barb!
I’m torn between this being funny and too real. 10/10 comment mate
"Actually Satan?"
"Oh shut up, Rin!"
Ti: You're not wrong
Qrow and cinder ship name
Ironwood: Qrow, now might be a good time to get drunk

Team STRQ really needs their own spin-off miniseries. I think it would go over really well, although I think seeing Qrow discover his semblance and the burden that comes with it would be heartbreaking.
His semblance could be what got summer killed to be completely honest. Only a theory though
I mean he could've discovered it before he went to beacon so that is a good thing if it does happen
I just want to see team STRQ's landing strategies
That's an amazing idea, but him discovering his semblance would be funny at first because the rest of STRQ would just be like... "yeah you're sleeping outside, Qrow..." But ultimately of course it would get to a point of his semblance being known to everyone at the academy... Eventually leading to his own spiral into his lone wolf approach to life... But... He of course would still be comforted by his team and sister... Until the split of Raven and Tai... Followed by the death of Summer... The problem I'd see from it though is the fact that this miniseries (while it would be appreciated) would end up showing the true light of the split of team STRQ... Tai and Qrow would go from being the friends they were to being civil with each other only for Yang and Ruby's sake, but otherwise still have a slight dislike for each other... We'd discover why Raven just decided to up and leave a loving husband and daughter. And possibly discover the true cause of Summer's death... There's so many answers we'd want answered as we found out more and more about STRQ... Including many of the mysteries we know of now. (My theory is that Qrow's semblance inadvertently caused Summer's death... Which could be the reason Tai and Qrow don't exactly see eye to eye on many occasions, because while Tai resents Qrow for Summer's death, he ultimately knows it's not completely Qrow's fault... But he still blames him for Summer's death.)
Sounds deliciously emo inspiring.
Fun fact - the albatross was considered to carry the souls of dead sailors. Many considered the albatross to be a sign of good luck, as their presence meant that one of these souls had come to protect the ship. Others considered the albatross to be a bad omen - namely that one aboard the ship was fated to die. Either way you viewed the albatross, to kill the albatross would be to curse your entire crew. Thus the killing of the albatross was considered taboo by sailors.
While these superstitions seem silly to us, it is not surprising that sailors considered these birds to hold mythical power. The albatross is a master of the sky - able to fly endlessly without effort. These birds can fly 10,000 miles without ever landing and without even flapping their wings. To sailors, this seemed to be magical.
Taedrin So with that information and applying it; what could it mean for Qrow's future? Maybe he'll die in battle at sea, and his death will inadvertently cause the downfall of at least one of Salem's commanders?
Lawrence Gist It's likely just there as another symbol of bad luck, like black cats and broken mirrors. I wouldn't look too deep into it.
That means he carry the souls of the ones who failed to protect, metaforicaly, sorry my english
Haha nice lesson
So he does carry *some* good luck?

Qrow: I remember everything... I'm sober now
I really like the theory that someone had that Qrow's bad luck semblance is actually just dependent on his state of mind, that his negativity feeds into his semblance. So the theory goes that if he were to become more of a positive person with a brighter outlook on life, his semblance would flip to good luck. Probably not the case but it would make an interesting fanfic
That would actually be interesting. Then it would be Qrow just trapped in his own personal loop
The more bad luck he causes the worse he feels and the worse he feels the *even more* bad luck he will cause
A theory which actually has a slight bit more evidence to it now that Clover exists.

Well, if you were to think of how semblances work, in any case brought in the serie there's a way to control that power. That's why they are trained, to do so. Ren, for example, showed that through training he could control his semblance, instead of just having it function almost randomly. Qrow then seems to actually control his "bad luck" by baiting the enemy in a situation in which bad luck may happen and when he fights solo, with focus only on the enemy. The two main battles featuring Qrow showed that, the moment he focuses on someone, he can project his semblance on them, even if are his own allies. There are some hints that would point out that he may be able to focus bad luck, even if he thinks it's just an AoE passive effect, thus re-distributing bad luck around him. It's just farfetched for now, but I think it should be looked into more, since it may be a good story of growth, to transform a curse into a blessing through thinking and hard working. No heroic travels or anything, a humble and very human story.
Let's be real here, most other characters are nice and all, but Qrow is everyone's favorite.
you know it. qrow is EVERYONES favourite they like him or not
I COULD NEVER BETRAY MY ICE QUEEN!!
Pyrrha used to be my favourite but yeah she dead now.. so Qrow takes the top spot
Qrow Ruby and Jaun for me
My favs are Jaune, Yang and ruby
omg i just realized that his bad luck is why the bartender in the beggining of season three broke that glass
Liam Cassidy True

It actually gets even better! Later on the girl in the pub gives him top shelve booze and says "lucky you"
Also when Ruby was hanging on his arm and then later fell on the floor after his fight with Winter.
I love how he's introduced in the "Crow Bar".
Qrow is literally my favorite character in RWBY and I'm so glad that he has a theme song. It suits him a lot. But I feel bad for him because of his semblance.
ExcaMan98 same for me, he's so badass and with that song, Qrow is a god
ExcaMan98 this theme was coming since volume 3 and also the Winter Vs Qrow
ExcaMan98 Qrow is best character! He needs all the hugs
it's like the fifth time im listening to that awesome song... I CAN'T STOP, SO COOOOL

Qrow Branwen: Former bandit, current Veteran Huntsmen, best uncle in the world. But alone, sad, broken, and in a constant state of self hatred and isolation. Truly a man among men. Here's to you Qrow you wonderful person, you may think you're cursed but it'd sure be a blessing to have someone who cares half as much as you in their life.

He hasnt died yet Kaze xD he's just poisoned atm, gotta wait to next season to see if he lives
Ker Dunne add headmaster of Beacon to his list of Resumes.
Cubix Dani Does a man have to be dead to get glasses raised in his honor?
Qrow is probably the most badass character in RWBY. He’s top 3 material for my favorite RWBY characters.
JD Wolff what if he died
FDN then he better go out with a bang.
sorry in my opinion he be number 1 for me
Key Chi hey, he’s that badass. ;)
JD Wolff his always bad ass character that’s why he is number one
I see they found his middle school poetry note book.
nick cady and then made it into music which is now technically a hit song amongst the FNDM

He really does look lige an older Light Yagami here
lol!
I think the
"I’m a cursed black cat"
"I’m an albatross" "I’m a Mirror broken"
"You don’t want the burden of my name"
Is basically representing each of the dark sides of our beloved characters. And he is ONLY the bad sides.
plot twist, it's a sign that Qrow is all of team RWBY's father
Erin Jackson Oh you son of a-
The you and I are not the same reminds me of Blake who also seems to think she is cursed but hes saying no but I am
Luke Deakin I know what you mean, in Vol 6 ep 1 when the Manticors showed up Blake went "just my luck"
What would Albatross mean?

"I’m an albatross" Qrow is Yang's father confirmed
"I’m a Mirror broken" Qrow is Weiss's father confirmed
"You don’t want the burden of my name" Qrow is Ruby's father confirmed

Allison Qrow is my father as well, probably.
A random account that will make you uncomfortable Oh noooooooooo
what if Qrow's ultimate bad luck is not dying in battle... but watching everyone dear to him perish....
Lindel Acunin oh my lord this is a vastly underrated comment. ueah that might have already happened to someone close to him, judging by his necklace. It's a cross, but Christianity isn't a thing in the world of RWBY. that cross is hung sideways on his chain. it is a near universal symbol of mourning and sorrow, but most people just miss it because they think it's just jewelry.
98765zach
The sideways cross originates from Norse mythology, I think, it is the semble of someone who is in great mourning over someone they lost.

"That's unfortunate...."
This song is beautiful.
It really sums up what Qrow is about.
His semblance is bad luck. He brings pain to both his friends and enemies.
This is a sad song, but it doesn't have that sad tone.
Why? Because it's screaming.
It's screaming suffering.
For him, for his friends, for everyone.
The whole RWBY cast is amazing, but the Williams brothers with all these songs, they did such an amazing work in giving so much depth about these characters.
I really love you guys.
And, he probably blames himself for many of the things that happened in RWBY...
Omg, poor soul :c
Ah yes, the song in which it's motif is probably used the most in the series, got to love it. In all seriousness, I like the use of Bad Luck Charm's 5 note motif, mainly used during moments of sheer hopelessness. The motif is from the line "I am no one's blessing, I'll just bring you harm."
This and Ironwood's five note theme are my favorites
I just love Qrow's motif every since we first heard it in the Qrow vs Winter fight
This song is exactly why I can't believe the "Qrow is Ruby's real dad" theory - Qrow knows his semblance is misfortune, and he's ashamed of it. He would never allow himself to love someone as much as he would have loved Summer in that theory. And he certainly wouldn't want to have a child with her - imagine what kind of misfortune would come to his DAUGHTER??? He gets worried enough about Ruby being affected by his semblance when she's just his not-even-blood-related niece, let alone if she was his daughter
I completely agree! I like to think maybe Qrow had feelings for Summer, but didn't act on them because of all the reasons you just said, and backed off.
Maybe his bad luck killed Summer after Ruby was born
It's not like his semblance has a preferable or anything. Daughter or not, the semblance would work just the same. Also if Ruby was Qrow's daughter, it would explain why he tries to stay away from her and left Ruby for Taiyang to act as a father figure.
Cassidy Marsh MAYBE RUBY’S CREATION WAS BAD LU-
While I get what you are saying with that and I also don't think he is her real dad, I just had a thought that maybe he could've acted on his feelings if he didn't know that bad luck was his semblance yet. It's easy to see your semblance when you use it actively, but we don't really know when he became sure of his bad luck as a semblance
Whoops, sorry for having to delete the last one! When it rendered, it caused an unknown loud noise to play at the beginning! Now you should all be able to enjoy it though, haha!
FlyntofRWBYNation - Finally up on here, thought you'd update the partial one, but this is just as good if not better.
@FlyntofRWBYNation: It got messed up the first time because you have a pic of Qrow in the video. You got hit by his semblance.
FlyntofRWBYNation what is your opinion about being a mere Achievemen reference
FlyntofRWBYNation do bmblb next
Nathaniel Wilson tfw when he's already did it
Let's also keep in mind that Qrow's semblance isn't just bad luck---it's bad luck for everyone around him. But not himself, specifically. Like he said, it comes in real handy in a fight; if it hurt him too then it wouldn't be helpful in a fight, it would be a hindrance. It affects everything and everyone around him, but not himself, specifically. Maybe that's why he's drunk? maybe it isn't as active when he's inebriated. Though, probably not considering he quit drinking. The drinking is probably just related to his mindset.
I'm still curious what he was called before 'Qrow' though. he said he was given his name because of his bad luck semblance. But that wouldn't have activated for a while, right? So surely he had some kind of name prior to that. Either that or in the Tribe, they don't name you until you are old enough to do something memorable; something to be named for. Wouldn't really explain Raven's though.
Unless Qrow 'killed' their mom, being the second twin to be born, and she died after that so the Tribe was just like "well that's bad luck, we'll call him Qrow. And for the bird theme we will call his sister Raven." Which means Qrow's semblance probably started due to him already being seen as a bad luck charm since birth, and it messed with his outlook on the world and on himself so much that he started to believe he was bad luck, and thus his semblance was like "shit, alright, let's be bad luck then". Since semblances are either based on something that helped you survive something (like Nora, being struck by lightning) or are based off your personality (Blake, leaving behind a copy of herself to take the hit while she runs, she's always been running because that's her first instinct when things go wrong; or Yang being the tank of the group, probably stemming from how Summer died and she had to pick up the pieces since their dad checked out after that for the most part; she had to be the mother figure, the protector of Ruby, which made her semblance manifest as 'hey, hit me all you want, i will take the hits for her, and I will still win the fight because I don't have any other choice because you're not getting to her') then I could see Qrow's semblance manifesting this way, due to his personality/belief that he is bad luck because that's what he's been told all his life.
Didn't mean to rant, I just have a lot of thoughts when it comes to semblances and what it says for their characters.
I think he stated it even tries to hurt him in fights but it also goes for enemy. There one fight with Ruby were something goes very wrong that gets him in trouble that he thinks is his curse.
Loved reading this years later. Love the analysis! Thanks!
I'm sure he's drunk because he hurts the people he loves the most. 100% it's the mindset of "im cursed, and everyone else pays the price"
His semblance does give him bad luck too but he has the skill level to nullify it for himself "Usually"
And now it's likely evolved, as many other semblances have. Spoilers for Season 8, ahead, so bear with me.

The moment where the bomb almost drops out of the ship, Qrow is holding Clover's pin, and it's a moment of good luck that the bomb catches, and the city is spared, right? Clover, earlier, mentions that he doesn't believe for a second that Qrow's power is /only/ bad luck, and the ability to control it. Clover's own experience with his own semblance gives him an extra perspective, and it's enough to get Qrow to change his line of thinking. The idea of personality and perspective mattering is absolutely relevant, given how semblances have shifted throughout the show, gaining powers, or changing how they manifest, usually around the time someone has a huge epiphany. It's really cool to see the evolution, and to see Qrow's views shift to be more and more hopeful.

First off: Qrow's bad luck aura extends into real life

3:03 - 3:08
Every time I hear that I just flash back to that first moment when his scythe began to transform. The entire song may be about the memetic badass that is Qrow, but that moment right there, that part's dedicated solely to his weapon. Yeah, Qrow Branwen; a man so goddamn badass that his fucking scythe has it's own mini-theme!
Hawk52042 yes Qrow is badass
Has anyone thought that Qrow's semblance might have been the cause of Summer's untimely demise
Supreme KittenLord well when he was poisen he said"tie..... she not coming....tie" i dont believe he was refering to raven since raven just abandond tieyang like "here your daugther im out of here"
GOLDHAJIK when did he say that again?
F-Triple he says that before team rjnr split up when nora and ren go the mountains and ruby and janue go to kuroyuri
F-Triple is in episode 9 two step foward two steps back near the end
So I have this theory... im thinking not only is he a big part of summer rose' demise but also her life, heres my theory,.. I think he and summer rose were actually together and that ruby is actually qrows daughter, at first I didnt think so because he gives raven so much crap about not being there for her daughter then that would make him a hypocrite if he kept this secret from ruby right? But if he ended up being part of the cause of summers death then maybe he thoughtvhe can never really truly be around ruby too much or else the same could happen he could bring bad luck to her. Now the reason he is so upset about his sister not being with her daughter is beacuse he is jelous that she can be around her but choses not to, when in reality he would do anything to be close to ruby. Just a fun theory ive been thinking about ^_^

Here's to the man, the uncle, the bad luck charm!
Probably has the most OP semblance in the entire series. Heartbreaking. His character. Love him all the same
Uncanny Zealot World's Most Epic Virgin I wouldn't say he's op
I mean, he almost died from Tyrian poison
because of ruby not listening to him
+Lightning6475 That wouldn't of happened and you know that. Qrow had Tyrian dancing in the palm of his hand. And yes +Jessica Albert that's usually what ignorance causes; unforseen damage. Whether it be mental, emotional or in this case, a very hard-working liver.
If the fight went on without Ruby's interaction who's to say Qrow's semblance wouldn't have made Tyrian sneeze during mid-fight or trip and fall stab himself in the neck, buck his toe and fall right onto Qrow's blade. Qrow's Misfortunate effect can cause so many chances for openings on any enemy to ensure his victory.
The tragedy that Qrow's semblance can bring can be quite corny since we now know about it. Deadly nonetheless. But he, in the end would've had the upper hand and ultimately won the fight. #StillBestUncle
yea she may of been ignorant of his semblance but she should of still trusted his judgement he has far more experience than her after all

I read this off of a comment somewhere:
Watts: Madam, we have a problem
Salem: What is it?
Watts: Cinder and her minions defected and is now running away
Salem: WHAT!
Watts: ... And me and Hazel had AIDS
Salem: *WHAT! HOW!?!*
Qrow: *holding his laughter in* I can't believe this actually worked
Well
There's one issue
His semblance affects him too, so he'd end up getting unlucky and probably get caught
We never seen him unlucky in specific. It makes everyone ELSE unlucky.
Perfect for spying, not great for teamwork
fun fact: qrow calling Oscar a pipsqueck is a reference to there voice actors in FMA
YES! I knew I wasn't the only one who caught that!
@RWBY Gamer yeah, and the voice actor for Col. Mustang technically did Lust too ; )
*seconds later
Tyrian: "YOU, BITCH!!!!"
You're right. She should've chopped the rest of the tail off.
Qrow Branwen She should have chopped his head off! You could have died but I'm glad you fully recovered :)
Ashlee Johnson I thought much the same thing, except it was more: "Ren, Tyrian just tried to kill you and your friends and take Ruby. He's at point blank with no Aura protection. Shoot him in the kneecaps and then either interrogate or kill his @$$!
2manybooks For some reason I got a vision of the axe gang from Kung Fu Hustle when I read that.
DNGR Why isn't this top comment.
Qrow and Winter are the same being from powerful families but left for a greater cause. I think that is why they argue a lot because they are the opposite yet the same.
Anyone else come back here after Qrow's comment in the new episode?
When Nora said 'just my luck!' after a pack of Grim swooped in and Qrow quietly replied 'It's not *your* luck'.
Same. I'm happy they adressed it.
Blake said it
Qrow you handsome devil. . . I'm not gay but dammit I just wanna give this man A hug! *tries to give Qrow hug* *trips and falls*
GOD DAMMIT QROW!!!
Jackson Joestar damn im dead
Jackson Joestar Qrow: "Nope."
I'm gay and I'd hug Qrow too
It's not really gay to hug someone. I'd still hug him.
That all depends on what's going on down south.
Yes finally!!! Thank you Flynt!!
"I'm a cursed black cat
I'm an albatross
I'm a mirror broken"
Blake is a black cat, Armed and Ready is about Yang and has 'it's time for me to soar' in the lyrics, and This Life is Mine, about Wiess, has 'I'm shattering the mirror' in the lyrics...
Am I crazy, or is there some foreshadowing here? Or maybe symbolism that I'm not seeing yet? Whelp, time to rewatch the entire series just to find out! ;D
I do think Yang is the Albatross because Albatrosses have really large wings and find it hard to take off (See Yang at home finding it hard to leave after what happened to her).
Matthew Hill and if we are going even farther killing or causing harm to an Albatross means bad luck. so it could mean misfortune could be fall to Adam considering he was the one that disARMed Yang.
what too soon?
P.R.A.D nope in fact imaging that heh Adam is going to be in some serious shit when qrow finds him
Darkmythsolider everybody is heading or is at mistral up to this point in the rwby story. so from what I can assume it's only a matter of time tell their is a powder keg that goes off. though if you ask me i think in a standpoint for character development that Adam is going to be Blake's fight in all honesty. sun may help her but she asks to fight him alone I think that is what is going to happen with Blake or sun being the Victor against him
Wyatt Eastman Pretty sure those are all just things that cause bad luck...
I want to give this sad man a hug.
That might not end well, but good luck, you will need this 🍀
No wonder he always has a flask on him. He’s depressed and fell into alcoholism.
@@RandoDoodlzAgreed.
When you are LITERALLY a breathing, walking and talking "Bad Luck Charm" that brings misfortune, pain and sorrow wherever you go despite you wishing not to 24/7, it would be extremely surprising if you somehow managed to NOT fall into a deep depression and Alcoholism.
*Ruby*: Uncle, are you drunk again?
*Qrow, transforms into crow*: I'M AN ALBATROSS!!
Yup
1:52 This line really stands out to me now that I have watched season 7 and why Qrow was so surprised when Clover said his semblance is good fortune
3:03-3:23 NEEDS to play when we get to see Qrow use his scythe in a serious fight.
Cynical Caesar yea
actually this was used during the qrow vs winter fight right before he was going to just sounds a bit different
And in the Qrow vs Tyrian in volume four.
Matthew Jeffreys The Final Battle at Haven.
Edit: Did I just?!?...
(Smiles in pride)
I just imagined Qrow's deep voice singing this. Damn it would sound so cool!!
they fired Qrow's voice actor... sad but true. sjw pressure
i'm.......*hic*.....A cursed blaaaAck.....*hic* Caatt
Frogg doggs I kinda wanna see that now😂😂😂😂
Voice actor for qrow is the same one for Edward Elric from FMA
@@froggdoggs8551 HA! That is, actually, pretty hilarious, but I'm pretty sure they meant Qrow singing it when he's SOBER (well, sober enough to sing, at least).
One thing gets me though. The line of "you don't want the burden of my name". It's got me thinking about the theory that Ruby is actually his daughter. Or probably a possible affair that he had with Summer which was doomed to fail. Or maybe just for any other person
Juan Sanchez The burden of his first name, not last
my internet cut off watching this song....crow why?!
LOL
Mizuki Koneko-chan that would be Qrow, my friend. or maybe his semblance just auto corrected you
Mizuki Koneko-chan lol mine did too
Qrow* aand it didnt happen to me
Lmao
What if Qrow was with Summer when she died in battle and believes that he's responsible for Summer's death? Maybe that's why he drinks so much.
Dakota Nelson Doubt it since Tai is Ruby father, Monty confirmed it
Also Qrow knows his semblance is dangerous, why would he even bother being with someone. It'll just cause him and the other person pain
Lightning6475 I didn't mean WITH Summer, I just meant in her proximity.
Lightning6475 She means that they were fighting someone together
ClawedAsh Must've misunderstood that, I just seen so many Qrow is Ruby father comments or Qrow is with Summer
Dude every since this episode came out in the RWBY episode I've been think the EXACT SAME THING. Honestly I also think he might blame himself for team STRQ disbanding as well.
"You can actually pinpoint the moment his heart rips in half. There, right there."
- Failstabs in a nutshell
Came to this after hearing it there too
what if Qrow's semblance is the cause of Summer's death? Qrow was on the same team as her and it is quite possible that he was trying to help her and ended up actually triggering some kind of misfortune that ended up being her demise.
_You don't want the burden of my name_
"...She is not coming back..."
@@0hvist many think that this sentencte means that he is Ruby's father. Couse he is afraid that Ruby would get hurt if she was with him for this long
"Trust one thing, take my advice: If you linger close, it's a hefty price."
That's my favorite part. What are your favorite parts, people of the comments?
Miah Comeens 2:14
Miah Comeens
"I'm an Albatross"
Just got to love that literary allusion and all the weight it carries.
That "I guarantee catastrophe" was just golden to me.
1:19
Miah Comeens the very beginning of the first verse. it just went so perfectly with qrow flying through the wall and recovering, with both his and tyrian's aura shields down.
damn, this song felt so perfect. It just captures the negative self hatred so much, I got so inspired it I needed to write my own version of it. One breaks down and get pulled in from thsi song all the same.
I just noticed that the line "A sure train wreck" at 2:53 might be a foreshadowing at RWBY S6 E1 "Argus Limited"
been waiting for this for soooooo longgggggg
He is a advantage and disadvantages to both good and evil.
The fight between Qrow/Ruby and Tyrian was so fucking good.
HELL YES ONE OF THE BEST SCENES
This song is beautiful, possibly the most perfectly worded (lyricked?) song in all of RWBY.
I so want a later scene in RWBY to just have team RNJR be captured and brought to Salem. There seems to be no hope and Cinder is about to burninate Ruby. But then a messenger runs in and says something about someone walking up to the castle.
Cut to Qrow. Walking, letting his semblence loose. No one can touch him and everything around him breaks, explodes or is subjected to friendly fire.
And a slow or in a minor key version of this song is being played.
This is why Qrow is feared, he doesn't need to fight to screw you over.
H9092 Whoa there bud, his semblance isn't that powerful to the point he doesn't need to fight
Also he doesn't control his semblance, it's just there.
H9092 I want that now
you never know. Maybe its like Nora's always on, but it can be switched into maximum power by certain triggers.
H9092 Nora's aura activates when she's charged with electricity, it's not always on. It's like when Yang activates her semblence when she takes damage. Why you think Ruby shot Nora with electricity?
And she can control it
Qrow can't and it always on.
He can't be like "cause that person with misfortune" it happens at random moments
Lightning6475
well he can't turn it off... but he may be able to pump it up. the reason he doesn't is to not cause too much trouble to his allies and bystanders.
Weiss: I'm shattering the mirror that kept me split in pieces
Qrow: I'm a mirror broken
Me: Omg wth? XD
Maxilla Ross
Qrow: "Hey bro, can I copy your homework"
Weiss: "Sure, just don't copy it word for word" XD
+PlebQueen The reason I find this so funny is that it actually sounds like something Qrow would've done
PlebQueen Lmao, tho Weiss would probably scoff, berate him for not having a homework, lectures the lesson for half an hour and THEN let him copy it lol XD
Any more Hogwarts comparisons and my brain shall explode
no, not that, just I literally after a while tempted to read the books instead of watching this series (I read those books too much)
I feel so sad for Qrow... I wouldn't wish that semblance on anyone. It must be so heart-rending to be forced to not being around your own family out of fear that your semblance will harm them...
You think that Ozpin would have developed some sort of device at some point that either outright shut down Qrow's Semblance so long as he wore it.
Or said device at the VERY least mitigated his Semblance, to the point that you would only lightly stub your toe, drop a glass, or spill something at the very worst.
Versus it causing you to be brutally eviscerated by a Grimm or be shot/stabbed after being robbed and then beaten to a pulp because the theif was just a huge douche/psycho.
Yes. Finally! I have found this song. I was looking for it everywhere. What a voice! What a sound! What a beautiful rhythm.
He's still the World's Best Uncle in my eyes
I was just listening to one of your songs, and then I saw this. Whoa you're quick, and I like them too.
Okay concept- Y’know how Qrow warned Clover to watch out from that beam-y thing falling? Imagine if Qrow kept doing that. Warning Clover if something’s about to fall or break. Warning him if something that might hurt him. And Qrow thinks it’s because of him so he apologizes one day. And clover goes “why? You’ve saved me more often then not. You’re my good luck charm” and winks and Qrow like fuckinb bREAKS DOWN...I’m in too deep
Wellll, hes dead now so
yet he’s the cause of the stuff, if he wasn’t there maybe he’d never need to save him but yeah technically thats right
Qrow just turns into a final destination character
Just got into my first car accident less than a month after getting my license. So far this song is helping me to vent. Thanks FlyntofRWBY for the upload.
I love Jeff's voice. I wish he and Casey shared most songs 50/50.

This made me laugh too hard
Lol
my sandwich yes
Stuff like this is what makes me angry at the writing team. They have the foundations for really interesting and compelling characters, but they fail to use them in any meaningful way.
EXACTLY. The Soundtrack is exactly why I am so disappointed in how they made RWBY. Jeff Williams created a goldmine of potential with these songs but RT just couldn't measure up. Jeff Williams is a better writer than anyone else that worked on RWBY.
I actually have a project currently on hold where I'm rewriting RWBY with the Soundtrack as the foundation. I'd be happy to share some of it to you if you're interested
Agreed.
The show quality REALLY took a huge nosedive and it just wasn't quite the same after Monty Oum passed away and it's why I simply quit watching the show after about Season 4.
Because the people doing all the writing after Season 3 were all a bunch of totally incompetent goons who had absolutely no clue what they were even doing.
Honestly, I'm kinda glad that Roosterteeth shut down just so that they would finally stop butchering RWBY.
This will forever be Qrow's Theme.
he may be a bad luck charm, but he's our bad luck charm
Words cannot express how much I love this. Thank you for posting.
As much as I love this song I just keep thinking about one of my favorite Mal Reynold's quotes
"Last I knew an albatross was the ships good luck until some idiot killed it."
I did not give permission to Rooster Teeth to make a song about my life.
I know!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This song is my life in a nutshell.
Shurikens Miner, at least your not alone
Shurikens Miner Go copystrike them 👌
"and I thought your black haired friend was the emo one"
Captain Morgan IV but I *am* the black-haired friend?
I ship Qrow x Qrows hatred for himself
I am beyond happy this song is now official and doesn't have none of that background fighting
Qrow Branwen has a bunch of roots to various mythological characters but I've never heard anyone liken him to the unfortunate Princess Branwen of Welsh mythology.
He relates to the Brainless Scarecrow in his drunkenness mirroring the Scarecrow's brainlessness, his ability to think and plan despite his drunkenness mirrors the Scarecrow's intelligence despite lacking a brain and he takes over for Ozpin after his death like the Scarecrow takes over as ruler of the Emerald City after Oz leaves in the original story.
Qrow and Raven mirror Huginn and Muninn, the twin ravens of Odin/Ozpin, who go out in search of information to bring to their master, who worries that one day they won't return.
In relation to Ruby, Qrow is the Huntsman to her Little Red Riding Hood, being her childhood saviour from a wolf/Beowolf attack, although in Qrow's case he goes on to become her combat mentor, like a sequel where the Huntsman teaches Littler Red how to defend herself from more Big Bad Wolves (Ruby's trailer has her destroy a horde of Beowolves on her own).
With Branwen, Qrow relates to her in the simple fact that their mere presence brings misfortune and suffering to those around them and their complete inability to stop it.
Branwen is a Welsh legendary figure, the sister of King Bran the Blessed, married to King Matholwch of Ireland in a bid for peace. The peace doesn't come, however, and King Bran's attempts to rescue his sister from King Matholwch's abuse of her result in her entire family and two whole armies dying for nothing, and she dies from the grief.
The trouble starts when King Bran and Branwen's half-brother Efnysien flies into a rage upon hearing that his half-sister has been married to the enemy without him knowing and mutilates the Irish horses, leading to King Matholwch's nobles being outraged at their king for accepting King Bran's 'lacking' apology. King Bran's apology had consisted giving the gift of a cauldron that can resurrect the dead, though the resurrected are deaf and mute.
King Matholwch tries to redeem himself in their eyes by treating his new wife, being King Bran's sister, cruelly and forcing her to work as a servant. She gives birth to a boy called Gwern and sneaks a letter to King Bran asking him to come and get her. When King Bran arrives King Matholwch tries to avoid war by offering to abdicate in the name of his newborn son.
Efnysien foils an attempt by the Irish lords to ambush and attack the Welsh by killing them in the flour bags they were hiding in, but at the celebration of the newfound peace between Wales and Ireland he kills his nephew by throwing Gwern into a fire. It's unknown why he does this, although it's most likely that Efnysien got very drunk and confronted King Matholwch, accusing him of orchestrating the failed ambush then flew into a rage and killed Gwern when King Matholwch denied it.
The Welsh and Irish armies present rise up against each other after the second failed attempt at peace. The Irish initially have the advantage, resurrecting their dead with the magical cauldron, but Efnysien sacrifices himself to destroy the cauldron. By the end of the fighting the entire Irish army has died, including King Matholwch. The only Welsh survivors are King Bran, Branwen and seven of their soldiers.
Upon reaching Wales, King Bran dies from poison from an arrow he took to the leg. Having lost everyone she ever loved and seeing two armies annihilate each other over her half-brother's foolishness and her own spousal abuse, Branwen succumbs to grief and dies from the emotional agony.
Branwen simply being there resulted in nothing but pain and misfortune that wasn't her fault. Qrow Branwen causes pain and misfortune simply by existing, and there's nothing he can do about it.
Wow, you had time
Very interesting
"I'm cursed black cat! I'm an albatross!
I'm a neon rainbow and you're no fun"
