For those asking what and how : Jerobeam Fenderson created some "songs" which if you feed them to an oscilloscope in xy configuration, will make such cool visuals. The N313 does not support xy display modes so it needs to be modified in a way that the beam can be directed by the stereo signal in both X-Y orientation. Unfortunately i cannot provide any schematics as the modification was done well before TH-cam or I existed, and i no longer have the scope to reverse engineer it, feel free to contact me if you have unanswered questions..
To explain oscilloscopes in a super simplistic way, one axis displays the amplitude of the left channel, the other axis, the right channel. Frequency is essentially how bright the lines are (the more frequent the oscillation, the brighter the line will appear). Shapes are made by combining the left and right channels at the same time (a circle is made by two perfectly in-phase, equal-amplitude sounds)
I know it’s a lame question, but to help the algorithm, I’ll ASK How many Channels are you using to do this. I have an old Dumont 2100g, to which I picked up with no documentation, and no Ch 2. But if it could still be used for something like this, I’m all Ears. This video has given me New Inspiration to do something Great. Thank You God Bless
imagine this but in like a soviet war scenario just like: "hey we are getting signals to our oscilloscope" "oh yeah what does it say" "uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"
When you send a disk with Earth data into space in hope for aliens to find and check it out, They send their sick drop about your whole Solar System in response, but it crash lands somewhere in Bermuda waters getting ocassionly picked up by radars on bypassing planes
Thanks for sharing. I've been trying to get my Rigol 1054 to play planets, or any other oscilloscope music, but I've been struggling to get it to run smoothly.
I didn't have any success with digital ones, too. Mine (Rigol DS1102D) is too slow for that, or from my experience any digital one I have access to. Analogue ones do a great job though.
Gábor Csiszér I figured it was something like this. Even with the bandwidth limited to 20 I couldn't get it to run smoothly. Maybe if I find an old analog scope for cheap I'll buy one.
@@gaborcsiszer5150 Still waiting for some info about your XY-modification ;-) I also have one of those cute N313 ones, and playing some scope music on it would be great!
This type of input to visual output design could be effective at determining Gravitational fields, Lagrange points, black holes, magnetic anomalies, wormholes, geomagnetic storms, solar flares... you get the idea. Very ahead of its time, way more than a novelty toy.
Hello ! can you tell me wich camera you used for recording image. I must finding adequate for x y and z input source. Wheare i can find something with 3ccd with speed frame capturin from 7"- 12 " 24" 25" 30" 60" which comon in pal system? Thank you
Frank Kaffa I used an Olympus omd em10 mark ii with a common 24fps setting at 1/60th shutter, but you do not need any special equipment/framerate to capture this, this is the way you see it with your eyes. Any camera does the same here.
Please tell me, if I connect the left stereo channel to the x-axis of my oscioloscope, and the right channel to the y-axis, will I see the same pictures?
Heló, sajnos már nincs tulajdonomban a scope, rendesen át kell alakítani hogy X-Y t tudjon kijelezni, ha ez lenne a cél valószínűleg olcsóbb / egyszerűbb venni egy olyat ami már alapból tudja.
It was made for this exact purpose, looking cool on an oscilloscope and sounding a bit like music at the same time. The original was created by Jerobeam Fenderson.
The teapot is actually a really old 3D model created by the University of Utah in 1975 and has been used primarily as something to test 3D engines. ROBLOX didn't make it, it's been mainstream for almost half a decade.
It's a pity that such beautiful devices are no longer produced. This particular one, judging by the marking, belongs to the ZIL company that don't even exist now It is sad

Hey man, i wanted to buy this exact machine if that is possible?

Did you sell the scope?

Genuinely thought it'd be Gustav Holst's The Planets. Was not disappointed though.

carlylea have fun searching for one! ;) the one I used in the video is really cheap but needs some modification to display in XY.
Gábor Csiszér ahhh! Good to know! I thought all 2 channel scopes will display in xy mode!! Thanks for the input!

Красиво. Спасибо рекам ютуба.
Спасибо им)
I was able to display most of the image from the audio signal, my scope is digital and displays at low fps, but this is real.
Thanks for the clear visuals!

i really waited onemore for pop sound
Also ducking awesome
Tasty
This looks and sounds like an intro fora show on the supernatural.
Subscribed. Like. Thanks for the work!
Классное видео ... Спасибо тебе автор
so we got the signals from the aliens after all ....
Cool Samplepack :D
Free LSD if you watch this video twice.
olha isso....
this is so sophie

If the scope is able to display in XY and not just a regular 2 channel scope then yes, that's exactly what happened in the video as well.
I did it, my scope is slow, but I am able to see the images
Szia!

@Based Lad Yeah, it’s been used a ton since the dawn of 3D computer graphics
