Awww that stunning chair.. that would be perfect to add to my collection😉 The ornate wood trim & gorgeous upholstery.. LOVE❤ Obsessed with the old white cabinet & such a great deal on that piece! Like you, I've seen them double that price for one that size! Yes girl, i google Lens everything i buy, and most times before i buy it inside the store.. to ck & see if its worth the price tag, if its authentic, the age.. all the things! Been using it for quite awhile! We found out about it several yrs ago when we needed some help in identifing & pricing pieces in the thrift store we owned in TN. That super expensive cabinet was so pretty! Lol i wish i had one of every type😄 I do want a old vintage or antique hutch. And one day I hope to own a hoosier! The blue cabinet in the background corner where you were looking at the ironstone pitcher was beautiful too! I found a shoebox full of silverware & a second shoebox full of serving ware.. Some sterling & some plated. I didn't keep it all, but i got quite a few sweet pieces😉 The little swinging frame & photos was so pretty❤ You have to be careful too because sometimes the pieces in the antique store just may not be old, could be made to look old or a newer reproduction of a piece. If I like a piece alot but it don't look as old as i like, i just do a little diy work & make it look the way i want it. The tea cups that had the papers with them must have come from one persons collection 🤷‍♀️ If seen pieces with papers, we've had them in our thrift store.. but you don't see it that often with dishes, or in a thrift store! I have the seasonal collector plates by Currier & Ives, several coffee table books, some framed pieces of art..i love Currier& Ives❤ Oohh i loved the green transfer ware plates, loved that pattern! I remember when you found that first sugar scoop..i still haven't seen one in a store🫤 Girl Goid Will is all over the place with their pricing! They'll have 3 pieces of the same thing all priced different, or something that's nice priced cheap & a dollar store piece with a Hobby Lobby price🤯 Someone showed In a video last night there was a serving dish made for dips, or nuts or whatever, that comes in 4 little sections you place place together to make one round dish, that they priced each piece separate😳 lol its crazy! There's no rhyme or reason..i think any associate just grabs a pricing gun & starts pricing whatever the want! Lol That antique dresser was gorgeous & a great price! I love the hardware too, you can tell its original. Not sure what that next piece was but the wood part of it is beautiful! And you know i love the old chairs & that was also a really great price! Those plates Currier & Ives plates are kind of like the seasonal ones i have.. mine are more like plates with the raised edge.. I have 3 & I'm missing one, i think its the spring one I'm missing. I have a couple other decorative plates by 'C & I' that are made like these ones. Enjoyed shopping with you as always my friend & love that we share the love of the same pieces too!😊

I really enjoyed your video in pointing out differences between thrift shops and antique stores. I do have to agree but unfortunately I think some antique dealers do overprice some of their items. I like to browse in antique stores but usually can't afford their prices. I have occasionally bought a nice pair of dangling clip -on earings and some other small item that was under $20.00 but I shop at thrift stores because it is much more affordable for me, although sometimes thrift stores can be overpriced, especially Goodwill. I used to live in England we had those sugar scoop item. However, in UK we had sugar that were in small cubes and used the scoop to pick up the cube. We never had loose sugar like nowadays. Thanks for your nice video.

Thanks for sharing. It is a hit and miss at both thrift & antique stores but what a thrill when I find a deal. That's the addiction. Thanks for watching!

The silver items shown in the video are silver plated, and a lot cheaper than solid silver🙏

Thank you! Yes, some of them said that on the price tag. Good eye! It's quite fun looking for the number 925 or 999 when searching for real silver. Something I recently learned. Quite intriguing.

I wrote another message a few minutes ago but I also wanted to tell you that you speak very well. You speak slowly and don't rush through your words. You are the perfect example as to how people should be speaking.
I can't begin to tell you how many videos I have watched of women on TH-cam videos of thrift stores or antique stores and they speak so fast! Running their words together and barely taking a breath. It's not only thrift store videos but women who have videos of clothing, shoes at retail stores speaking WAY TOO FAST. Wal-Mart, Target, etc. Majority are young women in their mid to late 20's but sometimes even older women too. I watched this one video recently about clothes to avoid wearing if you are over 40 years old. She appeared to be in her early 40's and she just spoke so annoyingly fast the whole video. All these women should hear your video and how eloquently you speak. Very good in how you enunciate and speak at a perfect pace. Thank you for doing this.
I heard this one young woman in her 20's and she had this habit of singing aloud to the songs at a thrift store as she shopped. She would speak about various things at the thrift store she was looking at but had this annoying habit of singing along in the store and I couldn't stand to hear her sing!

Frankly lots of misinformation here. What passes for 'antique stores' today are usually not. An antique is at least 100 years old and of high qualitry.. In looking at the wares at the "antique shop" shown on this video? Very little is an antique, mostly used furniture of lower quality. In fact some of the "antiques" shown are new items (reproductions). especially with european antiques and french antiques and ceramics which are often copies. Simple fact :a lot of antique shops go to thrift store to grab inventory, You MUST do your research. Silverplate is still dirt cheap (not everyting that is old, automatically have value),. Vintage and MCM is generally overpriced (it was massed produced)and the market is dying out again). If you are checking prices? Don't look at sites like charish, esty, or 1st dibbs. Prices are greatily inflated and don't reflect "real world value". Do searches on live auctioneers or Ebay for "Sold prices". Buy what you love but do real research.

Thank you for sharing. Yes, it's been a learning curve from being an admirer of vintage decor to understanding what the differences are from vintage vs antique. You're right, it is important to do research. I definitely will keep plugging away in learning the differences. Thanks for the input.
