When you run it forward you'll see it's on a CRAZY long track. All the way forward, there's no way you could sit in the seat. Also, as stated in the comments, run it al the way UP and you'll have space to work. So, no need to tilt up, there's more space to work this way.

How on Earth do I get power to the passenger seat so I can move the passenger seat forward and up so I can remove the battery? I tried putting my NOCO GB40 battery booster on the dead battery and on the jumper posts under the hood. Nothing. No power to the car, passenger seat, nothing. A bit of help would be appreciated.
Hi - Thanks for watching! We have connected another 12-volt battery to the jump posts with good results.
My 2016 jeep is not starting as well after I replaced the main battery. The Jeep have two batteries the auxiliary , and the main battery. You need to test both of them because I only changed the main battery and the car left me stranded. Save yourself time and money and see which battery need replacement.
Hi - Thanks for watching and sharing your experience!
After changing the battery, vehicle is not crancking. Start/stop switch light showing to run light when i press.
Hi, what is the size of the battery for a V6 Jeep GC 2017. Equipped with Auto On/Off feature.
Its the same as mine. Im facing the same issue. Should i do it myself? Dors the jeep waranty covers the battery replacement ?
Is it okay to replace the battery while the car is off or should it be on?
Hi - Thanks for watching! The 12-volt battery is always replaced with vehicle off and not running.
With the mechanical lever for moving the seat pulling that battery out is a pain 😂
Hi - Thanks for watching and sharing your experience!
We just got back from a 3680 mile vacation trip with our 2011 Jeep GC WK2. The battery is 11 years old and did fine. But when we got back, I had the battery load tested the the voltage was fine but the SOH was only 51%. Amazing we had no issues. I hope I can lift the battery out as even some of the Auto Battery shops that sell and install said this procedure needs to be done at the Dealership. I ask WHY and they said too much liability to R & R the battery from inside the vehicle. Really?
Hi - Thanks for watching and sharing your experience. We had no problem with this battery replacement.
What is the type of grand Cherokee 2015 limited 6V 3.6 battery type, thanks

Sir I used ACDelco battery 94R 80A
Will that Damage my car, thanks.
Is there anything that tells how the battery is as far as how good it is? I cant find anything in the instrument cluster that says so.
Hi - Thanks for watching! That type of information can be found in the vehicle's owners manual. Battery condition and "state of health" can also be obtained with battery testers and other types of diagnostic equipment.
How do you move the seat if the battery is dead??
Hi - Thanks for watching! The battery in a 12 Volt Memory saver, or another 12 volt battery connected to the “jump posts” under the hood will supply power to move the seat.
How you gonna move it forward with the battery dead.
Hi - Thanks for watching. A 12 volt battery or 12vdc power supply connected to the “jump posts” under the hood (refer to the vehicle owner’s manual) will supply the power to move the seat.
What is the size of the battery for the Jeep Grand Cherokee? 2011-2018

Just want to know when I disconnect battery will my radio ask for the code before it turns on. I have original Jeep navigation radio.Mygig
Hi - Thanks for watching! We don't know as we always use a memory saver of some sort. (Check out our video on memory saving. The link is in this video's description.) We suggest that you check the vehicle's owner's manual or a service/repair manual to be sure.
What a pain in the ass location for a battery. I had nothing but problems with my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee and will never buy another one despite really liking how they look and drive…just too many check engine lights and problems.
Hi - Thanks for watching and sharing your experience! We agree. This was a bit of a challenge.
I wonder why the seat doesn't tilt up for easier access to the battery?
When you run it forward you'll see it's on a CRAZY long track. All the way forward, there's no way you could sit in the seat. Also, as stated in the comments, run it al the way UP and you'll have space to work. So, no need to tilt up, there's more space to work this way.
I change the battery successfully but the car stil could not start. Grand cherokee 2015 hemi 5.7
Hi - Thanks for watching! Does the engine crank when you try to start it?
Great help Thankyou
I feel bad for anyone who doesn’t have some type of jumper cables. Good luck moving the power passenger seat forward when it’s dead.
Hi - Thanks for watching and sharing your observation!
Now stupid place for a battery what happens when battery is dead and can’t move the power seats
Hi - Thanks for watching! The proper memory saving system you use will provide the power to move the seats. Check out our video on memory saving. The link is in this video's description.
awesome thanks!
Hi - You're welcome and thanks for watching! We're glad you like the video.
What if you don’t have a memory saver? And what if you only need to disconnect the battery to do the spark plug change?
In 40 years I've never disconnected a battery to change the plugs. Keep the keys in the house and you'll be fine.
I replaced the battery but my instrument cluster isnt working now..what could it be?
This is not as easy at he makes it sounds...this is by far one of the stupidest places to put a batter. GOD forbids the battery dies and you can’t move the seat up.
Actually there are much worse places to put a battery, such as inside the front bumper forward of the wheel (Chrysler 300M) and a few others.
How about the mid-size Chryslers where you need to remove the tire to get to the battery.
I have to remove my passenger side wiper blade to gain access to my MINI’s battery.
Jumper cables to another car or a jump box to power the seat.
Because they don't want you to be able to change the battery yourself. Same reason headlights and tail lights are impossible to change without going to a dealer.
What is the memory saver?
What is the memory saver ??
it’s just a device that keeps the volatile memory (ie. saved radio stations, time, etc.)
He is just using a 12V charger or another 12V battery connected with jumper cables. If you disconnect the battery too long the Jeep will lose a lot of settings that your Jeep remembers.
@@RichardsWorld I changed mine today ( Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 2014) and the climate control will not turn on , anything I can do … I have no Jeep dealership in my hometown, or even close to me
How and what do you use to save the memory?
Hi - Thanks for watching! Please check out our video on memory saving. The link is in this video's description.
I don't know I always thought you would get shocked by touching the terminals on the battery. Maybe watching too many movies 🤷🏾♂️
Hi - Thanks for watching! We can only tell you that we find ourselves touching both 12-volt car battery terminals (with the ignition off and the vehicle not running) quite frequently without issue, but we still recommend caution when handling batteries and always referring to the manufacturer's procedures found in service/repair manuals for the vehicle being worked on and the battery being handled.
looks like a 17 not a11 good video tho 2011 no led drl
Memory saver? What? Huh
Hi - Thanks for watching! Check out our video on memory saving. The link is in this video's description.
Guess I'll take my seat apart since battery decided to die with the seat reclined back lol f Mopar
Hi - Thanks for watching! The 12 volt battery in the memory saver or a battery connected to the "jump posts" under the hood will power the seat.
Awful lot of metric bolts for an "American" vehicle.
Hi - Thanks for watching and sharing your opinion!
Almost all vehicles sold these days use metric connectors. My 1988 GMC truck was mostly metric but everything I've owned since 2000 has been metric. Once I bought the metric tools I was very happy since I didn't need to worry about all the different sizes which "could" be used.
Stupid idea to put the battery there
Hi Thanks for watching and sharing your experience!
pretty sure you’re using a 10mm socket & ratchet, not wrench.🤣🤣
Hi - Thanks for watching! You are correct. We use the term "wrench" because we don't know what type of tools the viewer has. ie. socket wrench, open end wrench, box wrench.
This ie so annoying inconvient. Whose idea was this it makes me so incredibly angry
Hi - Thanks for watching and sharing your opinion!
@@TheBatteryShop i hate batteries under the seat. 😪
can he lift that battery? lol
Never underestimate old man strength, lol.
If the alternator and battery are replaced is it normal to still have the battery light on for a little bit?
Hi - Thanks for watching! It has been my experience that the light goes off right away. But there may be some vehicles where this might be normal while the vehicle's computer recognizes that the fault is no longer there, or there are electrical loads that the battery & alternator can't keep up with. We recommend that you check with a service/repair manual for your vehicle to be sure.
