    The first thing you take off is the fuel cutoff sensor! So it don't get broke off! 😱
    You have to match the correct "spacers" with the type thermostat you are going use on the carb! 👍
    You didn't rebuild the top end of the carb! 😱
    You didn't rebuild the bottom end of the carb! 😱
    You didn't clear the other ball bearing fuel passage! 😱
    Use the "CHEMDIP" it's the best to clean all the passages! 😁
    Pretty good, not bad for a first time partial rebuild! 😁👍👍🇺🇲

    Thanks Slade ----- for a Carb. found buried in the Salvage Yard --- you now have a -- Spare -- you can put on the shelve for later use -- or -- parts ------ If you really like -- the Cotter Pins over those C-clips --- pick up a Numbered Drill Set -- Harbor Freight -- not always the best -- but for the little use we get out of their tools -- just fine ------------ I find for those C-clips --- your red handled Lineman Pliers works good ---- on removal -- one jaw drops down to the two open ends of the clip ---- the other jaw over the post that clip is on ---- then just squeeze the pliers --- the two legs of the clip will slide past the post -- and can slide the clip off ----- to attach the clip ---- just do it in reverse --- slide clip up onto the post -- pliers on the back bone of the clip -- other jaw on the opposite side of post now -- and squeeze -- and it's on --- then squeeze the two tangs -- Just -- a bit to close up the gap ---- I'll be on ---- FIRE ---- waiting for you next video ----------- You have a Good Weekend Too ---- Rodney

    Great video Slade! I'm glad you touched on the throttle shaft lever/ choke adjustment screw, I've seen too many people adjusting them like the 28/30 pict 1

    Nice tutorial, I plan to rebuild a carb for my 74. It has dual 34 EMPI carbs but I want to go back to stock. I’d love to see the window seals on the doors, and window scrapers, mine are shot.

    Great video, I know this was just quick vid for demonstration but if you ever want to make a show carb I found a guy in local in Pittsburgh that Vapor blast carbs for 25-50 and does amazing job.

    Love you're videos, very good for us DIYers, I have a 73 beetle and recently pulled the motor and replaced the rubber hatch seal, but now the gap between the seal and body seem to have gotten bigger, in the corners they're about an 1 1/2" , I was told that in 72 the super beetle engine compartment got a little bigger, so now I need to know how to fill in the gaps, for me it's important because in the summer we get over 100° , thanks

    Slade, looks like you're aggravated with that HF sonic cleaner for a couple reasons. I want one but I think I'll get the bigger one at HF, the 6 liter one. Question... what liquid or solvent do you put in there to clean? I'm wondering if I could use what's in the gallon of Chem Dip you buy at the parts store?? Thanks man!!

      @SladesVWBeetle  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Honestly I’m not aggravated with it, I just think it could have had a better design.
      Now I have a Vevor, 30L which is equivalent to 8 gallon.
      Quite large but it’s nice I can put cylinder heads in, pretty much anything. I have used Chem Dip, Simple Green, Purple Power. I have used a lot of different chemicals honestly.

    To bad you don't have a spare engine on a engine stand, to test carburetors/fuel pumps/generators/alternators, etc. Nice of you to mention about the 009 and stock carburetors.

    Do I not have to take off the throttle arm? Since it has a bit of plastic down at the joint.

    I have a question after watching your video... which was very informative by the way. We have a 1971 Super beetle with a brand new carb (just like the one you just rebuilt) and the throttle doesn't return all the way back leaving it stuck at a higher idle. I can push it back manually but when you hit the throttle again it does the same thing. I thought about relocating the spring to different location but I don't want to alter it's OEM location if I don't have to. Is there a fix for this? Thanks
