    Which is a better surf rod, the "Insane Surf Rod" or the "Carbon Surf Rod?" I'm deciding between the two. great review btw.

    The Blue Fish feed the tuna and I bet there is good tuna fishing offshore. That rod is a keeper! Keep the videos coming.

    Amen on "breaking the cherry" on any new gear. I've had cursed rods, reels ... even lures. Need you to put a call in to the Striper Mafia and tell them let's get this fall run going... Bass are on the lamb right now.

    Outstanding gotta love new gear. Fish are pretty elusive out eastern north shore. Have a feeling south shore will have a real quick run. The fish numbers just aren’t there. Slot limits should have been enacted 10 years ago. Always a pleasure to watch pal thanks for taking us along

    Will the bottom section of the Carbon Fiber Surf rod fit multiple tips if you wanted to use a lighter rod?

    • @thesouthshoreanglerfishing
      @thesouthshoreanglerfishing  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not being funny, but I’ve NEVER heard of someone switching sections of a rod with another unless of course your making a makeshift 1 piece rod one of a kind somehow between 2 broken rods…I wouldn’t suggest it…The medium heavy carbon fiber surf is light enough for surf fishing, wouldn’t recommend it for lifting fish up jetties, you would want to upgrade to heavy action in which I’m not a fan of and therefor use a different rod when fishing on jetties…Thanks for watching John😎hope my insight helps, STAY TUNED 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

    Nice video, what would you say the upper range of this rod is? 3oz or less?

    • @thesouthshoreanglerfishing
      @thesouthshoreanglerfishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the late response...3oz is the max but I like throwing 1-2oz on that at the most...if I have to throw 3oz then I’ll bump up to my st croix avid which is a heavier rated rod....Thanks for watching surfrat!!! STAY TUNED!!!

    How does that rod cast? Does it cast far? Could it cast 100 yards?

    • @thesouthshoreanglerfishing
      @thesouthshoreanglerfishing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It whips pretty good…as for 100 yards, maybe with the proper reel sized reel and the right sized line to match fully spooled….I wouldn’t recommend it for jetty fishing when having to lift bigger fish up the rocks but from the beach it’s an excellent rod for the price…. @@thesouthshoreanglerfishing Hey buddy, thanks for responding! I appreciate your input! Is your rod the 9' light power or the medium power? I am looking to buy a Lamisglas Carbon Surf Rod as well, but undecided between an 11' medium heavy or 11" heavy power one. I want a rod that I could cast 2 - 6 oz weights and baits, but still soft enough that it won't have trouble casting 2-3 oz lures for a reasonable distance. Everybody seems to pick the heavy power one, but I'm afraid it might be too stiff at the tip to throw lures in the 2-3 oz lures, but I'm also afraid to go with the medium heavy one as well because I'm afraid it might be too flimsy at the tip that it might lack backbone to fight large fish or to throw heavy baits. It's hard to make a decision when you don't have the rods in your hands so that you could feel how they are.

      @@Gio-nl7eg not going to lie, I haven’t found a downside to it yet, I have 2 other Lamiglas rods besides the carbon surf, 11ft Ron Arra and a 7ft Tri-flex, and I really can’t complain when it comes to lamiglas bro, quality shit...the only thing I wish I did different with the carbon surf was wait until I could find a Med-heavy-fast action because they were sold out everywhere and impulse made me grab the med-fast action which is Alittle lighter in the backbone so more stress on it with bigger fish....Thanks for watching Gio 😎 STAY TUNED!!!

      Pretty sure it’s lighter than the mojo, I have a Red St croix avid surf in 9’6 and its way heavier and the mojo arent the lightest of fishing rods either, I know many people with them and I’m not a big fan of the rod personally...i also have an 11ft Ron arra lamiglas..I like Lamiglas when it comes to surf fishing, the rods aren’t as stiff...I’ve never owned a Star Rod or used one so I cant tell you about that company honestly...
