I just made a batch of hungarian cookies ( which are actually little pastries with jam in ) because they are one of my childhood favourites I grew up with and they are so nostalgic. Good Day Chef 🇺🇦🧑🍳, These cookies along with some rainbow and Italian pine nut were what we took to my Nonna's house when we visited. Usually some Canolli and assorted pastries and a chocolate blackout Cake were also brought. Where she lived in Brooklyn was a large Italian neighborhood and Pastry shops are easy to find 😃. I made Acorn squash and after removing the seeds I put a little butter in the hollow center with some small diced apples then put a circle of parchment paper over the opening and invert on a sheet pan. Bake at 350* until done, about an hour. Use a spatula to remove the squash, turn it upright and either remove and mix contents loosely together or invert into a bowl and enjoy. I made it using frozen strawberries and I think I ended up using too much between my two 8-inch layers bcz once I frosted it with my cream cheese frosting, the cake was sliding and a lot of jam came out the sides. I did create a border before putting the jam. The cake ended up looking awful! How much jam should I place on the 8 inch cake to prevent it leaking?

I'm so sorry you didn't enjoy the recipe! If the cookies are spreading too much, it could be that your cookie dough is too warm to start with. Try adding a few extra tablespoons of flour and refrigerate the cookie dough.

Hi Jade! You can add a little bit more flour. Increase the amount by 1/4 to 1/3 cup and then refrigerate. Enjoy!
