Banjo-Kazooie has always given me a Disney feel
A Disney ride in Banjo Kazooie? Nice. We also kinda got the log flume we never got in Witchy World in Banjo Kazooie.
I can't believe you modded Splash Mountain in BK... While not my favorite ride, I did love riding it.. and I have a joyful memory of getting my phobic mother to ride on it with my family one trip to Disney. It was a celebration the day we bullied her enough to get her to ride it. She had fun. If you can figure out Haunted Mansion... I would be very pleased as that ride is my literal favorite. I rode it 18 times in a row!
Just finished playing and absolutely loved it! I honestly enjoyed the log ride more in this level than the ride irl lol. Everything was incredibly creative and polished, huge shoutout to you kurko and everyone involved!
You literally put two moments of my childhood into one mod. 🥲👍
At time, I thought of the Splash Mountain area being close to Spiral Mountain, so it's good great minds think alike! I like how the scenery and the painted walls combine the best of Spiral Mountain and Gruntilda's Lair!
I was not expecting the Poe Collector and the Super Mario RPG music, though.
Admittedly, A Banjo Kazooie ride that’s a log flume ride could actually work well
The hidden Mickey in the clouds is such an awesome detail. And if anyone missed it it’s around 7:45. I love this concept and would absolutely play it. Banjo was a big part of my childhood and I love splash mountain!
I promise that wasn't done on purpose, but even I can clearly see Mickey in the clouds now O.O

6:00 - There's the area I like to call Stump Village! Ticker the Termite is watching Banjo pass it using a log ride.
Disney takes this down, they acknowledge Song of the South's existence.
I'm one of a few who that has "Song of the South", it was one of mothers favorites.

The mixing of nostalgia between my favorite childhood video game and my favorite Disneyland ride is completely blowing me away rn.
I swear, this is the second Zip-a-Dee-Do-Dah video I've come across today without even trying.
I remember years ago when my family was in disney world, it was well past 12 AM in the 'extra magic' hours. We went around Splash Mountain once, got back to the dock, and the ride operator looked at the empty queue next to us.
"You guys wanna go again?"
"YEAHH!!" we all excitedly replied.
And he sent us around the ride again without us even getting out of the boats or getting in line again. One of my favorite memories from any theme park :)
As a kid I never once questioned where Brer Rabbit, Bear, Fox came from - no one ever told me what movie. I just thought they were whimsical fun characters on a whimsical fun ride. It has and always will be my favorite ride in Disney World. Sure, the source material is controversial, but how can one not love just the theming of the attraction itself? What a lovely homage to a well-crafted log flume, thanks Mark Kurko!!

@@RiposteBK it’s probably way more work then I know so don’t take this as a complaint, but if you wanted to really add to the level experience, some BK remixes of “How do you do” and “laughing place” from the irl ride would be super cool. (Again not a nitpick, just thought it would be cool to hear those in this level hack)
@@lambiepie6436 don't worry, those are perfectly valid questions!! The main theme itself was the one requested by the guys who had the idea for the mod, so I went from there - it would be a huge jump in work to get all the different SM songs working too, so I figured it was best to stick with the most iconic theme 👌
Banjo music sounds the most organic when it's all thematically based on the same melody (bar a few interior sections which sometimes have different melodies), so in the end, it was best I stick with the one theme and work from there.
If we ever do work on further Disney rides, I'll be sure to incorporate more of the melodies!

That was quite the level. I really like how you had there be a river ride where you just looked around to get the Kurkoian. I may do a video on this level once the level is released.
In the meantime, I plan to continue work on a video where I discuss about my ideas about a rom-hack that is an extended version of Gruntilda's Mask that isn't just Clock Town.
Let it be known that if you don't leave a collectible on top of your house, a bear and bird will combine their body weight to slam down upon your abode and shatter it to pieces.

Sad that PC Cancel Culture led to Splash Mountain's demise, all over the fact it was based off a "racist" cartoon by disney back in the days where segregation was still active. A great ride reduced to a mere shell of its former glory by whiny idiots

I was kind of expecting a fight in which Banjo had to fight Br'er Bear and Br'er Fox to save Br'er Rabbit from their evil clutches.

A beautiful tribute to a wonderful ride AND film! I knew I couldn't be the only one to get Banjo Kazooie vibes from that ride. Just walking through the que always made me feel like I was in a Rare game's world!

If I had a nickel for all the mods I found based on Splash Mountain, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that one was for Left 4 Dead 2. Making one for Banio Kazooie makes way more sense.

I don't know if it is feasible, but the exit pads on your mods could maybe use the Zelda Exit Crystal animation? Could even make a special pad for it. Anyways, fantastic work as always!

I'm curious about the assets being used in this. Clearly mostly seems like the engine from Banjo Tooie- but also interesting that the extra lives are there (which weren't present in Banjo Tooie).

So I'm having difficulty finding all the news and updates on this mod. Is it a finished project or is this just one of the levels? Looks like to me this is the third level of the Kurkoin Quest mod.
Yes, this is the 3rd level of Kurkoin Quest, but I'm releasing all of them separately for now. The full version will include all 6 levels and a hub world

I bet you probably get this question all the time, so sorry in advance, but is there any specific reason why you can't remove the dialogues for the first time you collect an item?
I found a way to do it with Backpack (the software I use to modify the rom) but it affected the main song, so I ruled out using it. It can also be done by code, so I guess for the Full release version of Kurkoin Quest we will do it
can you play these rom hacks on Android because I've tried downloading one of them before and it didn't work I really want to play grunty's mansion
