    Thanks for the review. Since i like more flats, i ride aero and so i brought the 65mm Edge Ultralight wheelset with ceramic bearings at 26 March. It was shipped at 18 april but i'm in Europe and still waiting for them (I'm counting on them arriving in early June). Also for people to know, you can upgrade the 36T ratchet to 60T ratchet after you confirm the order. You can ask for it in the chat with Elitewheels (you need to pay more 40€). I choosed the "sellers shipping method" to avoid VAT taxes. With Ali aniversary cupon, the total i paid for this 65mm (1490gr) wheelset was 537,03€.

      I purchased a similar set ( 65mm, non ceramic) on 25th March. Still waiting for them. If i'd known the lead-time I honestly wouldn't have bothered however, they were dirt cheap ( think i paid £330 all in with coupons and coins).

    Got the same one. I have driven them for about an year and only paid 560€ incl tax. Because of a new wheelset from CSC (30x59mm,1515gr awesome wheelset for 420€) I now use these for gravel. As described, they are not too stiff and are also suitable for gravel with 40mm tubeless. Due to their relatively low weight, they accelerate very well. They also seem reliable for racing. On the road there was a comfort gain when changing from 25 (5000sTR) to 28mm (CONTI TT 28mm) tires. The sidewalls remain flush with the tire so that there are no aero disadvantages.
    All in all, a clear recommendation to buy.😅

    Great review! I have these as well and can understand what you mean by stiffness and responsiveness. On the other hand, for most people that are looking for wheels at this price point they will be near perfect if you ask me. They are stiff but not too much and that's gives a great combination with comfort which I really like!

    I have their Gravel Edge, 45mm, 24mm internal width, came in at 1408g. Everything is great, but bc they're so light, they absolutely need to be balanced, all said and done, about 12g/15g per (front/rear) wheel extra for balancing, worth it, they ride SO damn smooth.

    Great review. I have these wheels and think they are really good. Very lightweight at 1348g and I subjectively feel they are quick, responsive and feels as light as they weigh. My racing wheels Princeton 7580 front and Roval 321 disc wheel rear (I am a triathlete) and I have never noticed that the Edge 50mm feels too soft. Also, I didnt quit understand their lack of ability to hold the speed. Like all objects, the higher the mass, the more energy it takes to both accelerate and brake it down. But unless you have a downhill race lighter is always faster if everything else is equal.

    • @cyclistshub
      @cyclistshub  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you. :-)
      That's an interesting comparison with those high-end wheels. I find them less stiff than carbon-spoked wheels, but they are on the same level as steel-spoked ones.
      You're right. As for maintaining speed, that's what I meant in situations where I stop pedaling, for example. It's like I'm losing speed faster due to less momentum.

    just bought a set of the Edge 50mm with ceramic bearings from Amazon for $813 USD to my door. They looked great rolled true, weighed as claimed. I did one 30 mile ride on pavement and they were both way out of true after. That and it was super hard to get the brake rotors back off, its like they werent machined right. Too many problems for one ride, I sent them back. Maybe its a good wheel, but not for a heavier rider as myself

    • @cyclistshub
      @cyclistshub  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, thanks for sharing your experience. :-)
      You overpaid them. They are usually much cheaper on Aliexpress (especially when discounted, even counting potential import fees). On the other hand, you would not have the luxury of returning them as easily as you do on Amazon.
      What is your weight? You could be unlucky and receive a faulty set. Of course, that shouldn't happen and you did the right thing to return them. I already sold mine, but they were still true as new.

  • @miguelchedas
    @miguelchedas 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I think they have a good blend of responsiveness and comfort, they roll quite well. They are a good compromise for someone that wants wheels that deliver either climbing or rolling, but dont compromise in any area. They dont compare to the best wheels climbing or descending, but i dont think that was the intention

    • @cyclistshub
      @cyclistshub  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Petre, EDGE hubs are similar to DT Swiss 350 hubs. They use 6902 TPI steel bearings. Unfortunately, they can't be upgraded to 54T, but you can upgrade them to 60T. You can learn more about the hubs on the Elitewheels EDGE product page on Aliexpress, or I recommend contacting their customer support there. They are pretty responsive. :-)

    Also purchased these wheels, but after straightening the rear wheel it started to flex under load. Can you advise how much to tension the spokes in the workshop to make it as stiff as possible?
    Thanks!

    • @cyclistshub
      @cyclistshub  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Rustam,
      I don't dare to answer this, I don't have that much experience with wheel building. However, the spoke manufacturer should have tables on their website with optimum tension. Don't overdo it though. Otherwise you increase the chance of the spoke snapping. If stiffness is your concern, I'd rather choose different wheels.

    I don't recommend. I bought 60mm/28 width 10/11 speed set from Amazon in April 2024. The fit between the bearings and axle was faulty out of the box.
