My mum, dad, sister and myself, lived permanently in our 27ft TravelMaster caravan from new in 1962 until 1976 when a bypass got built where we lived. We got housed which I hated. No leaks, no stains on the ceiling. But my Dad did go around the edges and fit putty in the seams and our windows were sealed shut because they weren't safe to open by then.
My good friend had a 1972 / 26 ft Holiday Rambler … considered a “top of the line” model at the time. He trailered it from Connecticut to Vermont and kept it in Vermont and used it as a weekend and vacation getaway for years . Beautiful unit !
Upholstery and carpet would be gone on day one, far from immaculate unless your standards are very low! It's the aluminum skin and new work done that make this a solid value.
❤.. Soon I will be ready, I will definitely consider you first...I am a great judge of character... You are 💯 percent honest..... thanks very much for sharing your Amazing Adventure called life...
Just found you guys....I subscribed immediately....I live about 325 miles away in SW VA....Keep posting, really enjoying your inventory and looking forward to finding just the right project for me.
For my 1974 camper with new tires inside really nice no broken windows, everything works ,no leaks roof redone new refrigerator ceiling nice I paid $1,800.in other words they are out there 😊
I completely did a redo of a 1986 HR 29 Presidential trailer. 86 is the last year of the original HRC. It is a beautiful unit now that it has modern upgrades. These units are very high quality. I completely removed and replaced the entire ceiling. But my tailer has no wood ceiling joists. They are aluminum same as the wall studs. The beauty of these trailers is they can be remodeled. And they will outlast any other trailer brand if cared for properly. My unit in 2024 still looks new.
I had a '84 HR motorhome that I did a lot of restoration to. I can attest to the original build quality of their units. I'm going to assume that someone who is looking for a cheap home is the prospective buyer for this one. The interior needs a fair bit of work but it will be a good project for a person with time, tools and skills. It's a good deal, folks.
I Live in a 73 32ft Holiday Rambler. 15yrs Now. Hole in roof from a Branch Falling onto it 6yrs ago, just have Sheet Metal up there on Whole Roof with Cement Blocks on it to hold it down. Hole Under the Toilet, did Not know this when I bough it and until about 2yrs in when F'n Opossums, Rats and Mice kept coming in and had to block it off but could not block it off completely, so still have Mice/Rats coming in Years Later. Not able to get under it after it was setup.. Thing was a Mess when I bought it for 1,800. Nothing Worked and Could Not be used in the Kitchen area. No Fridge. Bathroom was Barely Usable. Only Difference from the one in the video is the Bathroom. Swap Side for Toilet and Bath. Only had One Bed in the Bedroom on the right side. Toilet Broke years later and now use a Camping Toilet. Collect Rain Water for Bathing. Spend Most of the time in the Bedroom since Living area is Packed full of my Stuff and the Couch is Shite and have to have a extra Freezer.. It's Still Livable but working on saving enough to Build a Shed/House now that everything is Paid off of stuff I had to Fix and Do... Stay Worm enough in Winter since I live in Panhandle of Florida and only use a Space Heater. Cool enough? Barely, Hits 80 in the Bedroom with the A/C On Full and it being Upfront. Electric Runs Between 35-80 depending on month.
This is a wonderful camper for this price. Everyone may not know how well Holiday Ramblers were built and how they hold up. Great price on it!! Whoever gets it will be fortunste!
It's amazing what you are doing with these used RVs! You're preserving history (on some) and offering a Home/RV to those that can't afford one (or don't want to go more in debt). One question, if folks want an RV like this but don't have the skills to fix it up more, do you offer your skills to do the work for hire?
@@joepeach997 thank you! We do work here, but as a small team that is more focused on buying and resale, we don't have the time to get into extensive repairs for customers.
Where is the vin number located on a Holliday rambler? Do you know this trailer was advertised with a seventies Lincoln Continental car on top to demonstrate its strength?
@OrangeManGood2024 No, this is a $2,500 camper. We redid the entire roof, replaced every vent, paid a pro to update the electrical and plumbing etc. That is the extent to which we repair a trailer at this price point.
It's always the ceilings. Can't anyone make an RV that has a ceiling that doesn't leak. It's a shame , that's a nice unit otherwise. I've been looking at some Swift Caravans from UK that are brand new, and they have some leaking issues with the roof skylights and the seals around the windows. th-cam.com/video/OvQqxzMTzuw/w-d-xo.html
It's because they're relatively flat roofs, rather than sloped. Without the slope like a house, water sticks around for longer, finds places to settle, and all they are is painted metal sections that are riveted together. Would definitely be nice for campers to have a universal roof system designed to not fail, but they'd have to come in one molded piece, which obviously would be a logistics issue. You can sort of get that in some smaller modern campers, although they'll eventually leak somewhere else like around the door trim or windows. It is a shame, because a lot of old trailers that could still be on the market have long since been scrapped because of roof leaks.
Great potential! Do you offer a payment plan, even for such an affordable price? We're seniors finding apartment life too expensive. We do have nomad experience! Thanks and look forward to viewing other campers you have. Thank you.
It looks decent enough, but that rot in the frame behind the front window is definitely a big issue. I'd say if someone was buying this as a static place to live out of that wouldn't travel much, it'd be worth it. But it'd be a pass if it was something someone wanted to move around a lot, as structural integrity issues would crop up. These old campers are a testament to what we lost from inflation. A middle class person could have afforded this brand new. Now to have something that big today, made out of even just the same materials, would need to be a millionaire.
I don't know about a middle class person being able to afford this when it was new, Holiday Ramblers were a high-end line. My '84 HR motorhome had an aluminum structural frame, which was a big reason why I bought it. Rot inside the frame is a major ordeal for modestly-skilled people.
Not even close. New price was $7659, base, and average retail now is $780. "Average" condition for a 47 year old trailer is basically scrap and this one has new tires and working appliances.
You people are asking way way to much for these older campers that have to be repaired. I bought a 1974 for $1,800 (NOTHING)to replace or repair with new tires, new refrigerator. Except broken tail light. No leaks roof resealed.NObroken windows.😊now iam adding Solar panels, diesel heater for backup heat source.
@nightwolf1963 I found my kerosene heater in the garbage, it was free. Should I go to Walmart and demand that all kerosene heaters be free, since mine was?
Go price just the tires, Champ. I doubt you can get 4 new ones installed for less than $7-800. What did you pay for a "new" refrigerator, and when? Just adding solar and a diesel heater to yours will cost as much as he's asking, if you do the work yourself and RIGHT.

I honestly love 90% on the campers listed. Those old ones last a while a VERY well built.

Ben, that is worth every penny despite the kitchen ceiling. The upholstery and carpet looks original and immaculate! Thank you, buddy.

@@benscampers1818 Hey Ben...I have a dodge grand caravan V6 3.8.... would you know if I could pull that type of trailer with my Van? Thx

I recently watched all of your videos and noticed you never have any Airstream campers. Is that intentional?

You couldn't even patch the front window cover?

@benscampers1818 do you have shipping.
On a flat bed.
@robertmcdonald9280 I'd have to tow it down, it'd probably be cost prohibitive
