    This was a fun video Abi and I like the idea of a shoulder ruffle on the Billie. I’ve made several with the gathered sleeve and two with the plain sleeve. I really like the slouchy fit of it. It’s so relaxing. 😁

    A shoulder ruffle would be really cute for the billie jumper 💖

    I have cut out the Cleo from some gorgeous burnt orange thrifted courderoy curtain fabric and cotton plum coloured fabric with ditsy burnt orange flowers for the lining. I can hardly wait to make it up.

    Loved this video! Thanks for sharing these looks and patterns. I wasn't very familiar with Tilly and the Buttons patterns, so this was very nice.

    Not sure about sweatshirting with shoulder ruffles. I’d definitely avoid it for myself (5 ft 2 in with broad (aka sturdy) shoulders and a generous bust), as proportion is what matters. That said, it was easy for me to be a New Romantic in the 80s!

      Fair enough! I made them and love the end result, you can see them here if you fancy: shop.tillyandthebuttons.com/collections/free-pdf-sewing-patterns/products/shoulder-ruffle - Abi

    Thank you for your ideas!
    May i ask what winter fabric would you recommend for indigo pattern?
    I thought viscose is a bit light for winter
    Moreover , would be needle cord fabric ok for safiya trousers?
    Thanks!
    Thank you!

    I have 2 questions for you Abbie,
    1. when you see a fabric that you just have to buy but don’t know what pattern to use it for; how much do you buy??
    2. What sewing thread do you use? Thanks

    • @TillyButtons
      @TillyButtons  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Pauline! I tend to buy 2m of a fabric, it covers most styles I like to sew. Unless I think a drapey type would make a good midi length dress or be good for a gathered skirt, I'll get 3m. Sometimes 1.5m if I think a jersey would be nice for a top. The brand of the threads I use (and you can see behind me) is Moon. Abi x

    Love the pjs, unfortunately I don’t have local fabric store in Surrey. Do you know what we called double brushed polyester in England as the Americans use it a lot for lounge wear

    • @TillyButtons
      @TillyButtons  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm, it's not a fabric type I'm familiar with I'm afraid. I had a Google and found a few UK sellers of 'double brushed polyester', it looks like a brushed cotton jersey might be a good comparison. Abi x

    Would it be possible to use jersey on the Indigo pattern? (I’m a beginner)

    • @TillyButtons
      @TillyButtons  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Indigo is designed to be made in woven fabrics, with the gathered skirt I would stick to non-stretch fabrics as sewing so many gathers with knits can be tricky and the skirt would end up quite heavy, pulling the bodice down. Check out our Zadie dress pattern for an alternative: shop.tillyandthebuttons.com/products/zadie

    Are you planning to extend the size range on the Freya? I do have the book

    • @TillyButtons
      @TillyButtons  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately the publishers own the rights to the patterns in the books, so we aren't currently working on them. But we're continuing to release all new designs in our UK 16-34 size band, along with re-releasing our best sellers like Indigo & Billie. Abi x
