Jeff, excellent video addressing how 3-D printing can be valuable. It’s so insane how manufacturers charge exorbitant prices for their parts. Thanks for showing us how you modeled the part in fusion 360. I am glad you were able to help your friend out.

I love how this is becoming more and more normal. I have also repaired several of my broken items, and I always share the parts on thingyverse for others to use in case they have same broken item. Charging the tip of a fighter jet for weird little rare spare parts is just not okay - I hope that in the future that there are no room for such market, and that everybody just print their own parts - or spare parts have to compete at a reasonable price level. :)

This is the reason why OEMs are so afraid of 3D printers.
According to their stories, 3D printers will be their demise.

I have done a few of these types of print and also others to solve problems where the parts don't exists. One of my 3D printers the injection molded bracket that holds the stepper motors cracked, I ended up reprinting them. Funny thing is the 3D Printed part has laster longer than the injection molded one.

Currently doing a similar thing myself. Either I buy a whole new piece of equipment or just 3d print the plastic bits that have failed. It is also possible to improve on the original design when 3d printing the replacement parts.

I suspect, the pricemaker puts the point one numberplace to high - but also worth to print by yourself. 2h you have your parts - I love my 3dPrinter with fusion360. Greetings from germany

Someone needs to write to that company and tell them to get the hell out of here with prices like that on some stupid plastic piece of s*** that breaks off like that. What the hell do that company think everyone is rich or something! That stupid company that is an insult to everyone and hope that company sucks like it does and goes out of business
