Deep still frightening for me...eventhough I can do freestyle or back float easily, deep end of the pool still frightening for me...its all in my mind I know that but still...anyways I miss my happy place, hopefully this month end can resume

I can understand your fear of deep water. I will suggest you to get a floating device like pool noodle so you can feel confident in the deep end of the pool. It takes time to get used to being in a deep water.
I hope you resume your swimming soon!

I'm 55, & trying to learn how to swim. What did you do/learn in your 1st two classes?
This is really helpful. I couldn't quite figure out the leg motion with treading and seeing you transition from the alternate leg motion to a mirrored motion made it click for me.
Lots of other good tips for me to try out at the pool tomorrow. Thank you!

Thank you for this! For some reason, I was taught how to swim and float as a child, but never taught how to tread water. This should help a lot, and I can't wait to start practicing!

@@jonbadboy112 How did your lifeguard test go?
@@RocketSwimming Swimming class was good last night, I currently have two more sessions before I can take the lifeguard test. I was able to tread water for about three minutes. The instructor is constantly telling me to relax and to be looser with my body ? 🤔😡 Thanks for checking in man 💯
@@jonbadboy112 That's fantastic progress! Treading water for 3 minutes is a big achievement. Keep up the great work, and best of luck with your remaining sessions and the lifeguard test! If you have any questions or need further tips, feel free to ask.

Thank you for this. I can already swim and tread, but I'm not great at it by any means, and I'd like to start preparing for the 5-minute tread test of the CWST. I watched your other video, but couldn't quite see what you were doing with your legs, so this is very helpful.
You can do it!

Thank you sm it helped me :)
You're welcome! I really appreciate your positive feedback.
I need to learn this technique, without hands and arms as well
My biggest obstacle atm 😅
Treading water is really tough for beginners because of the stamina issues. Start to work more on your stamina. Do some out of the water workouts like jogging, squats, jumping ropes to increase your stamina.
@@RocketSwimming thanks
Relearning how to swim. Going to swim on the deep end next class. So this was helpful.
That's great! How did it go?
@@RocketSwimming This lession we had floties (can't remember when I used one last time) to swim in the deep end and tread water. Next time no floties, will also then learn how to backstroke.
❤❤❤❤ yes bro
Thank you so much!
So challenging for me
Treading water can definitely be tough, but don't get discouraged! It's a skill that takes practice and patience to master. Keep at it, and you'll get better over time. You've got this! Just follow the tips in the video and practice.
Thanks!
WOW! Thank you so much! I really appreciate your donation towards my channel. Please keep me posted on your progress and feel free to send me an email if you need any help regarding technique.
Thank you for your explanation, especially on the part that it is normal if we cannot do it overly long. May I ask though.. I see people on the ocean can vertically tread water with their head out for quite a long time. Is it because it is easier to float in salt water than in the pool?
It's great that you found the video helpful! Yes, the salt content in the ocean water helps you float better than in the pool water. But it takes effort and practice to keep treading water and breathe properly due to the waves crashing on your face. Better to use life jacket in any open water.
"Frosting a cake or directing a choir"
You've got it!
😂
There is gravity, but there is also the opposing bouyancy.
When you breathe out bouyancy decreases and gravity pulls you downwards
That's why lean forward so you're not 90 degree in the water. Use your body to create resistance.
@@RocketSwimming yh I was commenting on the fact that he said there is no gravity in the water...so the gravity is there but there is an opposing force of bouyancy that keeps you up
❤
Thank you so much! ❤
I need to start practicing this for the coast guard lol
Do it! Practice daily and keep me posted on your progress.
Thanks Coach , is it possible to float in 1.5m depth pool, i am 1.75
I mean is it possible to learn treading water in that almost deep?
It's possible but you my hit the floor. You can try egg beater kick by leaning forward to increase distance between floor and your feet. I would suggest a deeper pool.
is the eggbeater kick doable for people with bad or surgically repaired knees?
I think it is better to take it slow. Consult with a physical therapist or swimming coach. They can assess your specific situation and provide personalized advice.
I have a question. When im treading i cant bring my head above water. What do you think causes that? Air intake wise, i think I've had enough.
Are you keeping your lungs half full? Also, try to keep your hands wide and push the water down.
@@RocketSwimming yes. I'm still at treading while holding my breath. I cannot yet properly do the treading with breathing.
Make sure to keep breathing so you don't exhaust yourself. @@Jomskie

Thank you so much! ❤

Thank you so much!! 😀💐
Now lets dive into it. *Pun intended
I can't seem to get this
You will! Treading water takes a lot of practice and stamina. Feel free to ask any questions if you're stuck on specific part.
how do we breathe while treading
Breathing is really easy when Treading water since your head is always above the water. Breathe normally but make sure to not breathe out completely.
I find scissor kicks easier than egg beaters.
Cool! Swimming is about finding the most comfortable technique.
The egg beater kick utilizes far less energy, while scissors kicks require far too much energy.
I keep sinking and my legs won’t continue to do the eggbeater kick
Try to lean forward a little bit. Perfectly vertical body in the water will sink.
Why do you have to have a wooshing sound every time you change shots?
Haha! It's a transition effect.

I tried I can’t 😭
Treading water takes a lot of practice and stamina. Keep practicing. Think of the kick as a breaststroke kick.
