    I got the standard venture because I couldn’t afford the venture x a few months ago. I’ll upgrade next year once I save up a little more.

    If I’m someone who is traveling for work a lot, can I still book my hotel stay through the app and use my discount promotion codes? Also if not is there anyway to maximize how much % I get back if I do not book through their hotel app but still paying for the hotel? Thank you!

    Nice video! How do you use your points to pay off previous bookings on venture X for better redemption?

    • @joshua.butler
      @joshua.butler  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Daniel! You'll be able to apply your points to any charges on your statement that code as travel. The charges just need to be within the last 90 days to be eligible.

    First of all, happy Easter to you and your family. Sunday, March 31st good morning, 11:08 AM. Question, please wait for my statement. And then I could pay my credit card. It could help me my credit score. Let me know please first time with a credit card. I'm still learning. Capital, one quick silver, 1.5 cash back

    Both are great cards. I chose the Venture because I have the AMEX trifecta and simply just wanted a good backup card when AMEX isn’t accepted.
    I went with the Venture because I don’t want to book travel thru their portal and instead book directly with my Platinum so the $300 credit has no benefit to me. You can’t go wrong with either card in my opinion

  • @budgetlivesave

    I’ve had the quick silver for 7+ years and got the venture x as my 2nd care in September. Do you think I’ll be approved to get the regular venture card in February? Looking to get a signup bonus 🤑🤑🤑

    • @joshua.butler
      @joshua.butler  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First of all, I like where your head is at! These sign up bonuses are NICE! People have certainly gotten both the Venture AND the Venture X sign up bonuses... I can't really comment on whether you'd be approved or not... but the general rule of thumb for Cap1 is to wait 6 months between card applications. I'd certainly be interested to hear how it works out for you though!

    If I have Wf active cash and csp would you get flex / unlimited or venture? Reason I ask I have a large expense coming and I'll hit that 4k for 75k bonus or do the others and transfer points

    I have had a capital one platnium for years but want to.apply for the venture x. Will i still get the 75k miles as a new customer or will i we considered as an excisting customer and i wouldnt get it. Anyone who knows can please answer me.

      @@joshua.butler i called already and she said until i spend the 4k within 3months only then if i qualify i will see the 75k miles. My sister said she saw a tracker for the 75k miles right away on her app. But i dont see it on mine. They just merged my 2 accounts .the venture x and platnuim. Dont know if they consider me an excisting customer and didnt apply it for me. I have tix to buy and dont want to spend the 4k then finding out i didnt get the 75k miles. Im thinking of cancelling. Dont know what the implication will be if i do

    • @joshua.butler
      @joshua.butler  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@adannaya1 I am reading that some people see the tracker and some people don't. It's possible that it just hasn't showed up yet for you as it seems like it may take a few days to a week, or it may only show up after you use the card for the first time. It's odd to me that the rep couldn't confirm which sign-up bonus is tied to your card. I'd personally call back and talk to a different rep to confirm.

    • @joshua.butler
      @joshua.butler  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, as long as you qualify of course. Just be mindful that you'll be forfeiting the Venture X sign up bonus by upgrading rather than opening a new card.

    • @joshua.butler
      @joshua.butler  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Everything Is Satisfryan Based on my research, you SHOULD be able to get both SUBs (I can't guarantee this, however). Be mindful that Capital One typically will only approve you for one card every 6 months.

    • @joshua.butler
      @joshua.butler  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Everything Is Satisfryan and another important note. You technically wouldn't be getting it twice. While they're currently the same, they are two different sign up bonuses. Capital One typically doesn't let people get more than one sign up bonus per card.

  • @TheAudioCzar
    @TheAudioCzar 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Not to be Petty but I don't see venture X as a -$5 a year card, you don't get the bonus miles until you're anniversary, which also means you've paid a second annual fee by then

    • @TheAudioCzar
      @TheAudioCzar 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@joshua.butler I'm still thinking about it. I have the venture one, quicksilver, and savor one. I want to have a plan for the card before I apply because right now flights go on my Amex gold and hotels go on my altitude connect. Only thing I don't like about venture X is it forces you to use the portal. I book southwest a lot, which I can't book in the portal, and I book a hotel through the portal I won't get hotel points.

    • @enzhus
      @enzhus 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You don't get 10000 miles in the first year, you get 75000 miles with a $395 annual fee! From 2nd year, you get 10000 miles with annual fee.

    Question for the welcome points:
    If I buy something via my venture x card (example, a $4000 sofa from Costco) and get 75k points and end up returning that item after 1 year, what would happen to those welome bonus 75k points?

    • @joshua.butler
      @joshua.butler  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a good question. There's a decent chance nothing would happen to the sign up bonus, but IMO it's not worth the risk. There's potential for them to rescind the offer, close your account and/or blacklist you.
