For years, i wanted to stay away from capital one. The last card i had with them was in 2007. Lots of things have changed. I just got approved for a savor one card and will try them out again.

Congrats on the Savor One! The Venture X and Savor One are one of the best duos out there.
Why did you want to stay away from C1 before?

Looks like all you have to do is take one trip a year to take advantage of that $300 yearly travel credit and you'll be at the same annual fee of the Venture Card. I'm leaning heavily towards the X.

Yea, the Venture X is a big winer in my book for the vast majority of people

Can you get the venture now then get the venture x at a later time to get both sign up bonuses?

wondering if it is easier to get approved the reward card and then upgrade to Venture X vs getting Venture X directly.

Generally speaking since annual fee cards are a bit more to take on, it probably is easier to get approved for the the Venture Rewards, then product change to a Venture X

I think the best way to essentially put Capital One is if you do international travel especially to Asia then this is by far the card and ecosystem for you. If you're traveling to Europe and then again especially Asia go with this card setup. The Chase set up doesn't exactly give you the bonuses and perks for Asia but is a better all-round system especially for domestic United States and then Amex is not bad whatsoever you just can't use their cards globally as often

Agreed. Reallly have to use C1 for international travel.
Chase is the domestic answer for the 1.5 CPP guarantee on the CSR. Amex is a nice blend of options
