My advice to everyone;
Treat the Neo as a toy. It's a lot of fun.
If you want to do some serious flying, invest in the Mini 4 Pro or Mini 5 when it is available.
I have both and there’s definitely a use for either of them.

My first drone and I love it, but for best video quality you need the RC included, I think a lot of issues will be addressed with a firmware update. If I use it regularly I’ll upgrade it to a better quality sub 250g drone…
why do you need rc for better quality
due to the pro mode in manual mode can be modified by using the rc only @@ionutbadea4241
@@ionutbadea4241 You can adjust the sharpness etc., makes the footage look better, hopefully they’ll add these features to the app for those that haven’t got the RC in a future firmware update.

Mice review of an attractive little machine that with fit nicely into a niche for bloggers like me. I might be tempted to add one to my hiking backpack rather than the Mini 3 Pro.

A question - If I use the Neo +RC3 to lower the sharpness, can I use the Neo with those settings in the auto modes (e.g. following me without controlling it with the RC3).
At this time no. According to checking my footage it seems like all the clips shot with automated features are reset back to default auto settings

Whenever there’s an affiliate link I don’t trust the reviews. I finally saw a review pointing out the poor quality video, the shaky front follow and unfortunate my mini2 RC isn’t compatible.
Mine will not connect to ANYTHING AT ALL. first turned out on, told me update firmware, did that, now its a brick. Won't do anything to pair. It won't lei me download dji fly app on my phone again. Won't let me disconnect from, well, nothing, it's not connected to anything. I can't use it without a controller now because it tells me to be able to fly i need to connect it to the controller. I'm really upset and I'm going to lose my mind. I want to do a hard reset or something on the drone to stop it from needing a controller and just work on my hand.
I’m going to New Zealand and would love a drone - this would be ideal, but the image quality looks so disappointing.
Yeah, it's really for social media only. The video quality is pretty low otherwise.

I will wait for the NEO 2 to come out and fix all the shortcomings of this drone, mainly the below par video quality and its lack of ability to follow subjects without continues crashes and more. In the USA it's really going to hurt itself coming out the same time as the Hover Air Pro and Pro Max which is light years ahead with its tracking, obstacle avoids, and quick shots.
Yes, I would rather pay twice and much or a little more than that for a tool I will use over and over rather than a toy that so many are trying to justify losing $200 after the launch.
IN a year or two when version NEO 2 comes out, then I will buy and most influencers will be bashing this version of the NEO. Buy it NICE or buy it TWICE
The new DJI Neo is a fantastic drone for beginners and enthusiasts, but probably not for highly demanding professionals. It does indeed lack obstacle avoidance, but the tracking is good, and when e.g. a tree blocks the path between the person being tracked and the drone, it just stops and hovers in mid-air. There are several videos on youtube that demonstrate its strengths and weaknesses in this regard. I think the video quality and the fun factor will suffice for my demands, and maybe I will upgrade at a later date. I don’t really want a +250g drone with all the hassle involved, so possibly in 1-2 years I will upgrade to a Neo 2, maybe with a flying weight of around 200g, improved video quality, and obstacle avoidance..🤷🏼♂️
You might have to wait nearly two years and hopefully by that time the adjustment won’t be incremental. In the meantime I’d been missing two years of family shots and other filming I wouldn’t get anywhere else. Every new model is better than it’s predecessor but there’s a lot of lost memories in between the wait times.
@@hOttOddYfAiLzWell for me I won’t be waiting, and I’m willing and have paid more than double the price of the NEO for the original selfie drone.
In have the Hoverair Pro Max coming because I want my memories to be ultra HD clear when I travel. The extra few hundred dollars is well worth haven’t beautiful memories with the best there currently is.
By then, I’ll probably get the Next Neo that will surely copy the specs of the hover pro and make it better. DJI has almost 100gr leeway to make it happen!🙂
I honestly cant see the poor image quality lots are moaning about!
They are image snobs. It will capture great memories easily and it costs peanuts. Take it from a 70 year old that when you look back at your vids in years to come you will look at the memories and not worry about a bit of lens flare.

What this drone can do better that the mini pro 4 can’t do? I’ll answer that. Absolutely nothing.
It’s £500 cheaper though - significant.
It’s not aimed for the same use and it’s a lot cheaper…
do better for your wallet. mini 4 pro is for professionals or pixel peepers. This drone is for families and people that just want to enter in the drone thing.
Fly without the remote. This is a huge deal for people like me who hate set up time and additional complications with packing for trips.
It also can use your phone as a remote. I would’ve opted for Mini 4 Pro if it can do that without needing to attach to an RC.
did dji come out a firmware update to fix the image quality yet? i buy one if they do. The video quality is important to me.
