    Great, it took a lot of searching before i came across this segment. All i wanted to know was did the battery come fully charged, nothing in the paperwork preamble to say they did.

    I have the Arlo Pro 4- camera set. All of a sudden two of the batteries will not charge beyond 2%. I resynched and even replace batteries but those 2 cameras wont charge. Tried different charging block to no avail. What else could it be?????

    • @netman88
      @netman88  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you using a special charger to charge them? If so, maybe the charger has problems. I'm using the arlo2 and they are still on the original batteries. I know that day will come that I will need to replace the batteries.

      @@netman88 I'm using the arlo charger but have tried a generic charger and USB to computer with same results, max 2% charged. Even with new battery.

    This exactly fixed my problem. Damn you Arlo! I had a few cables that fit fine for the camera but that stupid usb wall charger from Arlo is the ONLY thing allowed my pro camera battery to charge. What a scam.

    • @guttagutta420
      @guttagutta420 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      tro jansky It comes with the USB wall charger. I don't understand your frustration.

    • @trojansky2348
      @trojansky2348 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      James Johnson um, because you have to use THAT specific wall charger...meaning you can’t charge multiple cameras at the same time....meaning if you lose it, you have to spend another $xx to get a new one....meaning it’s a universal usb plug yet you have to use their proprietary plug despite the fact I have at least 3 other usb wall adapters that charge a slew of other devices just fine.

    • @guttagutta420
      @guttagutta420 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      tro jansky Soooo just like apple...everythings proprietary...it's life. Deal with it. Either buy a charger and an extra battery. That way you'll have a fully charged battery whenever you need it and won't have a camera go down. Or look on Ebay or amazon and get the charger that can charge multiple batteries at once.
      And btw, I agree with you. Netgear is trying to milk this cow until it's dry. They are nickel and diming us to death. Just like with the subscription to have more than 5 cameras. The damn system cost enough without asking for a monthly fee! 🤬

    • @trojansky2348
      @trojansky2348 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      James Johnson I have a MS in info systems so I’m familiar with solutions. It just irritates me that a standard (micro usb) had to manipulated in some way for this camera.

    Could a solar panel like the one from Ring charge the Arlo, without ever having to take it down to recharge?

    • @netman88
      @netman88  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probable but Netgear Arlo hasn't release that product yet. Maybe a 3rd party would work.

    • @josephambrose2899

      I saw recent complaints that Netgear has installed firmware that will reject aftermarket chargers of all kinds, forcing us to shell out more $$ to buy their Arlo original accessories.

    Please document the charger brick that was used. Running 9Volts over the USB jack seems to be a serious violation of USB specs and could damage other devices if naive users use the power brick elsewhere. The Arlo Pro User Manual indicates the blue is only used when 9V is being applied to the camera from the power brick, else the Yellow light flashes. Does the Arlo product VMA4400 have the 9V or the 5V power brick as part of the sale?
