      I go by Dude Who Runs a Lot in a lot of bios or if someone needs me to write an intro for a speaking engagement. I usually only use it for videos that I think/hope may reach beyond my core audience

    Awesome review. Love my Vertix 2. Build quality is amazing! The Wifi capability is currently limited to over the air software updates. Can set the watch to automatically download and install updates overnight when a new update is available without needing to have it connected to the Corps app via bluetooth. Basically, a more seamless software update process. As for the weight, its heavier than say an all plastic forerunner model but its definitely lighter than a comparable Garmin Fenix.

    A really good critique of the watch’s capabilities. Battery life and color maps are great but those features seem to be outweighed by several other issues.

    Love my Vertix battery life!! I don't run as much as you, or use maps often so mine usually last 42 days on a single charge! I switched to a nylon wrist strap and it reduced the weight a little more. I have the Coros Pace 2 as well and usually get 20 days on that and it's crazy light weight! Great review!! Thanks !

      The battery is just unbelievable. Lasts longer than the battery in most chest strap heart rate monitors

    This is a very honest and unbiased review. As I'm trying to become a better and faster runner, I'm looking for a more complete, all-around watch, and I'm between the Coros Vertix 2 and the Garmin Fenix 2 Solar Saphire. This is helpful.

    I positively love this watch. I wear it 23 hours a day. Take it off for showering or sometimes some purposes. This thing has been nothing but spectacular. And the plethora of watch bands available for this watch, you can do just about anything

    Nice video!! The watch is that heavy that even when is targeting Ultra Runners, Kilian pick the Apex Pro over the Vertix 2.

      It’s also likely Kilian is testing their Apex Pro 2 since it’s coming out soon. Excited to see what updates it’ll have to slot between the Pace 2 and the Vertix 2

    Great review. I have the Coros Pace 2 and it is super light. I bought it for track runs but will be doing outdoor runs off the track soon. It does not have music, but then it would be bigger and heavier with a higher purchase price. I wear my Apple watch now just for music and started to run for the first time without my iphone which made me lighter for my run. Thanks for the info about how to use it to 'find my iPhone' or to use the Coros app on my iPhone to fine my Coros Pace 2. Super powerful battery that I have not even charged yet. I don't need maps for running on a track, and when I run outdoors I would know the route first so I don't get lost. Worst case scenario, I would just use my iPhone map. Seems that even when a watch has a map on their watch them keep complaining how small the watch screen is, but they knew that before they bought it. My iPhone has a much bigger screen for a map.

    I agree with you, the delay in speed data is sometime annoying. Got the same on my Pace 2. Not a big deal but when i when i do 20s sprint, it is a bummer 😕

    Regarding the find my phone mode. All my Garmin watches had that. You hat to hold the upper left button and choose it.

    I've had the pace 2 (also, insane battery life) for about the past year and cannot say enough great things about it. I don't think you can do better for $200. I don't need any navigation features and sort of prefer a compass anyway. I also always have my phone on me which I can look at an actual map on there. I do a lot of trail running. Another thing that's been great with coros is that they update and add features constantly. Every time they do this all of watches in the line get these new software features. I think with the combination of the light weight of the pace 2 along with the stretchy silicone strap, stays put for all of my entire workouts. All of that being said, I'd love an apex pro.

    Coros watches are a bit frustrating if you live in a hilly areas. The data lag on pace times gets pretty rough when you mix in crowning hills. Where I live you crown hills probably every tenth of a mile. After two years, I have gotten pretty used to it.

  • @scriptosaurusrex

    Great review.
    Sounds like the apex pro may be more your speed.
    Honestly, the HR sensors on coros aren't great as far as I can tell. Which is a shame as it seems to let the rest of the watch down.
    I bought a garmin because of these reviews and I hate it. It is just not fit for purpose (not that my retailer cares). Ironically, the HR sensor on that is half decent though in terms of reading vs perceived effort.

  • @paoloruns
    @paoloruns 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Dang. That watch is massive! Seems like a workhorse, though.
    Question about heart rate zones. Do you change the default heart rate zones on your watches to be custom tailored for you? I feel like I need to do it on mine as it keeps saying I am mostly running in Zone 4 pace even on easy pace runs. I don't think I'm going too fast. If I go any slower, I'd be walking.

    • @kofuzi
      @kofuzi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      As an aside, for some people, adjusting to low heart rate training requires walking.
      But for this watch, I did give it a max heart rate. The rest of the zones were extrapolated from there by Coros.
      Other watches can let you define zones and/or figure your zones out for you over time

    • @paoloruns
      @paoloruns 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kofuzi Thanks, man. Yeah, I'm still not sure if my forerunner 235 will adjust to my heart rate over time or if I just need to manually adjust it.
      I was told to do a manual max heart rate test which I'll likely have to do.

    • @michaeltanel3815
      @michaeltanel3815 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@paoloruns FWIW I've had to set my Garmin Vivoactive 4 with custom Zones. I had the same problem, I was almost always in Z4. Might be because of a poorly set max HR (I haven't done a proper recalibration recently). But you're not alone.

    Quastion:
    Can u tell me is the wheel button feels mechanical "clicky" when u roll it normaly without pressing it for the Enter option or it rolls just freely all the way. For example i mean like how the computer mouses scroll wheels indicates small intervals.
