Regular Show brought me here. I've always felt that tv show had one of the best soundtracks ever!! I'd always be thankful with that show for bringing me here!!
This video is so far ahead of its time. With the (seemingly live) effects of having a moving and growing/shrinking circle video (playback) overlay (admittedly, not very deftly controlled) over the live footage of the studio audience sitting in seriously dimmed lighting with TVs set into the wall, surrounded by orange ovals. I didn't know the technology for such an effect existed in 73.

My first memory of this song was driving in the car with my dad when I was young, maybe 8 years old. My dad is a very quiet and reserved man, a listener rather than a speaker. As soon as this song came on he didn’t say a word he just turned it up and belted out the whole song. One of my favourite memories I cherish. Id never seen my dad that into anything before that day. I’ve never seen him belt out/sing a song since. I doubt he even remembers it. But he said every word perfectly, even the intro at the start haha. I had absolutely no clue what was going on but it was certainly awesome. Shoutout dad he knows I love him :)

The tone of Brian's voice is, and I mean this in a totally hardcore, badass , rock-and-roll way, ADORABLE. It sounds like he's the leader of a pack of boys checking if they're ready to go out on an adventure. I like to think that they did go out on an adventure later that day, and they found a trove of German-looted art and gold from the war and returned it to my relatives. #SlavaUkraini

I am 58 and realise now that this fantastic band were my introduction to heavy rock nearly 50 years ago . Literally years ahead of their time in terms of guitar sound , vocals and image .
Look...I'm 50, I was born in 1974...right when the Sweet were singing this hit. I have to be honest: I'm Italian and I didn't know them at all until less than a year ago. My partner, who is older than me, introduced me to them...then I delved deeper. Not knowing something is obviously not a fault, not having the curiosity to do it, instead is quite serious. You also have to say that curiosity is something that if you don't already have it, no one will ever give it to you. I'm very curious and in fact...now I know all about the Sweet and I listen to them every day...I love them!!! By the way, for personal reasons, Brian's human story involved me a lot...I understand what he suffered, I have only words of great respect for him❤
That was the best group for me when I was young. I was born in 1963. And such a great rhythm. When I was 13, I always listened to it with my brother and we drummed along and acted as if we were playing the drums. I saw Sweet again at a gig, but not all of the original singers were there. Just Andy Scott. The concert wasn't bad, but it was different than if the original singers had been there. I would like to see the time back again. ...
A takový skvělý rytmus.

Seeing a cover band for these guys this summer...I'm obsessed with this song! Never tired of it! Binge watching it! I love Steve's personality...always waiting to see what he's going to do. All the costumes and makeup! Such a fun band to watch. I wish I could have seen them back then!
"The Ballroom Blitz" is a song written by Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman and recorded by British rock group The Sweet in 1973. Billboard ranked the song No. 16 for 1975. The Ballroom Blitz was recorded at the International Audio Studio, 18 Rodmartin Street, London. It was produced by Phil Wainman and drummer Mick Tucker who used a Wainman drum on the recording. This song was inspired by an incident on January 27, 1973, when the band The Sweet was playing at the Great Hall in Kilmarnock, Scotland and had been chased off the stage by bottle shots by fans.
Fantastic record… that killer guitar riff & the insistent drumming just work pure R&R magic… great production too! The Rezillos do a wonderful cover of the song that’s worth checking out!
I got this album for Christmas in 1973, a month after my 15th birthday. I still have it. I haven't played it in ages, but we recently got a turntable and I can't wait to dig out all my vinyl.
Hands down *one of the best party songs* ever, if not the very best!!! This is simply guaranteed to get every kind of party started :) Not to mention it being a great song in every other way too, ofc.
I am born in 1959, but I will not grow old with this band. They had perfect hits... I mean in the original composition: Brian Connolly - lead and backing vocals (1968-1979; died 1997) Steve Priest - bass, backing and lead vocals (1968-1982; died 2020) Mick Tucker - drums, backing and occasional lead vocals (1968-1982; died 2002) Andy Scott - guitar, keyboards, backing and lead vocals (1970-1982)
Hi You Know The Sweet Was The Best Band Ever , Many, Many Thanks Brian Connolly And The Sweet For all Good Music Best Wishes From: Rogert Nyberg With family 😁👍 Umeå , Sweden
Some of the best music ever came from the 70's and 80's. Ballroom Blitz is one of my favourites. I couldn't have sat so still as the audience did lol. RIP Steve Priest
Growing up people always said they were glam- not true. The NY Dolls were glam-, Sweet were an AMAZING rock band that just never got what was deserved of them. I LOVED THEM THEN AS MUCH AS LOVE I LOVE THEIR MUSIC NOW
The Sweet Was The Best Band Ever, Many, Many Thanks Brian Connolly And The Sweet For all Good Music Best Wishes From: Rogert Nyberg With family 😁👍 Umeå , Sweden
The best band ever heard and seen .I'd never thought that their influence after so many years is growing bigger .. In my childhood I felt their power and nowadays I'm conviced to listen to four top musicans with very special and individuel abilities. Thank you and getting kissed by the sweet muse!
Loved this song back then and still love it so much. Great music and really like to look at them. Will keep on listening to it always 😍. Greetings from The Netherlands
Desolation Boulevard... Man what an album. I was just a kid, however my Sister was a teenager then and bought all the good rock records. This came out at a time when Pop was hitting the radio stations, so it was a really good change.
:-) This, when I first heard at Laxík in the fall of 1973 at the age of 16, was a complete bomb and it wins all the time! :-)
Absolutely love their magnetic energy it’s so contagious & makes me feel happy, fantastic band!!!! My young granddaughter loves Steve Priest in his fairy costume 😆 what a great bassist~singer!!

Alright fellas, let's go!
Oh it's been getting so hard
Living with the things you do to me
My dreams are getting so strange
I'd like to tell you everything I see
Oh, I see a man in the back as a matter of fact
His eyes was as red as the sun
And the girl in the corner that no one ignores
'Cause she thinks she's the passionate one
Oh yeah! It was like lightning
Everybody was frightening
And the music was soothing
And they all started grooving
Yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah-yeah
And the man in the back said, "Everyone attack"
And it turned into a ballroom blitz
And the girl in the corner said, "Boy I want to warn you"
It'll turn into a ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz, ballroom blitz, ballroom blitz, ballroom blitz
Oh reaching out for something
Touching nothing's all I ever do
Oh I softly call you over
Then you appear there's nothing left of you
And the man in the back is ready to crack
As he raises his hands to the sky
And the girl in the corner is everyone's mourner
She could kill you with a wink of her eye
Oh yeah! It was electric
So frantically hectic
And the band started leaving
'Cause they all stopped breathing
Yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah-yeah
And the man in the back said, "Everyone attack"
And it turned into a ballroom blitz
And the girl in the corner said, "Boy I want to warn you"
It'll turn into a ballroom blitz

It'll turn into a ballroom blitz

Seeing a cover band for these guys this summer...I'm obsessed with this song! Never tired of it! Binge watching it! I love Steve's personality...always waiting to see what he's going to do. All the costumes and makeup! Such a fun band to watch. I wish I could have seen them back then!
I was 10 years old when this song came out, and I remember it like it was yesterday. It sounds as good today as it did back then.
Party on Wayne

"The Ballroom Blitz" is a song written by Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman and recorded by British rock group The Sweet in 1973. Billboard ranked the song No. 16 for 1975.
The Ballroom Blitz was recorded at the International Audio Studio, 18 Rodmartin Street, London. It was produced by Phil Wainman and drummer Mick Tucker who used a Wainman drum on the recording.
This song was inspired by an incident on January 27, 1973, when the band The Sweet was playing at the Great Hall in Kilmarnock, Scotland and had been chased off the stage by bottle shots by fans.
mordecai and rigby brought me here. and thanks for my son who love the regular show... the quality of their muscial talent is amazzzinggg....

Fantastic record… that killer guitar riff & the insistent drumming just work pure R&R magic… great production too! The Rezillos do a wonderful cover of the song that’s worth checking out!
Absolute red-hot classic! I remember it being in the charts, and I love it just as much now as then.

I got this album for Christmas in 1973, a month after my 15th birthday. I still have it. I haven't played it in ages, but we recently got a turntable and I can't wait to dig out all my vinyl.
70's are the best years!!! Thanks so much👏👏
Vor 25 Jahren starb Brian Connolly.
Wir werden ihn nie vergessen!
Ja das stimmt! Ich werde ihn auch nicht vergessen! 🌷
Hands down *one of the best party songs* ever, if not the very best!!! This is simply guaranteed to get every kind of party started :) Not to mention it being a great song in every other way too, ofc.
I was 10 when this was out and heard that intro riff. blew me away and totally inspired me to start playing the guitar
I was 8 when this song came out. One of the overlooked hard rock classics of all time.
HARD ROCK really, lol hard rock ..love you Eric ,,xx
Amazing!!! Greetings from Moldova 🇲🇩
Brilliantly done, love this! Uk ❤❤
I am born in 1959, but I will not grow old with this band. They had perfect hits...
I mean in the original composition:
Brian Connolly - lead and backing vocals (1968-1979; died 1997)
Steve Priest - bass, backing and lead vocals (1968-1982; died 2020)
Mick Tucker - drums, backing and occasional lead vocals (1968-1982; died 2002)
Andy Scott - guitar, keyboards, backing and lead vocals (1970-1982)
Orn in 49'. Same feeling
Great old memories 🥰
Thank you guys for your fantastic Sweet-Sound 🎶🎤🎸🎸🥁👍🔥🤘
I love it 💕♥️💕♥️
I had forgotten about this!!! Listened to this in 1973 when I was 18 and again in 2024 at the age of 69!
Now thats what you call a real boy band. Great memories and nostalgia. Thanks for sharing. 😊
Hi You Know The Sweet Was The Best Band Ever , Many, Many Thanks Brian Connolly And The Sweet For all Good Music Best Wishes From: Rogert Nyberg With family 😁👍

Some of the best music ever came from the 70's and 80's. Ballroom Blitz is one of my favourites. I couldn't have sat so still as the audience did lol. RIP Steve Priest
Thank you "REGULAR SHOW" for allowing me too know this song when i was a child🔥💯
Growing up people always said they were glam- not true. The NY Dolls were glam-, Sweet were an AMAZING rock band that just never got what was deserved of them. I LOVED THEM THEN AS MUCH AS LOVE I LOVE THEIR MUSIC NOW
The Sweet Was The Best Band Ever, Many, Many Thanks Brian Connolly And The Sweet For all Good Music Best Wishes From: Rogert Nyberg With family 😁👍

Me too

Desolation Boulevard... Man what an album. I was just a kid, however my Sister was a teenager then and bought all the good rock records. This came out at a time when Pop was hitting the radio stations, so it was a really good change.
I still have my copy...
:-) This, when I first heard at Laxík in the fall of 1973 at the age of 16, was a complete bomb and it wins all the time! :-)
Podobne. Letelo to na diskotékach, ktoré som milovala.
One of the best songs of all time!!!!
You, are very smart!!
One of the best....that's right.
Yes,a great song i love that song!!!😛😛😛
Definitely 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Absolutely love their magnetic energy it’s so contagious & makes me feel happy, fantastic band!!!! My young granddaughter loves Steve Priest in his fairy costume 😆 what a great bassist~singer!!
the first best intro drums of my life, she makes me a drummer
Back again... this is one of my favorite songs of all time! Wish they would do a movie about them!!!
Lyrics/Ballroom blitz
Are you ready Steve? Uh-huh
Andy? Yeah
Mick? Okay
Alright fellas, let's go!
Oh it's been getting so hard
Living with the things you do to me
My dreams are getting so strange
I'd like to tell you everything I see
Oh, I see a man in the back as a matter of fact
His eyes was as red as the sun
And the girl in the corner that no one ignores
'Cause she thinks she's the passionate one
Oh yeah! It was like lightning
Everybody was frightening
And the music was soothing
And they all started grooving
Yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah-yeah
And the man in the back said, "Everyone attack"
And it turned into a ballroom blitz
And the girl in the corner said, "Boy I want to warn you"
It'll turn into a ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz, ballroom blitz, ballroom blitz, ballroom blitz
Oh reaching out for something
Touching nothing's all I ever do
Oh I softly call you over
Then you appear there's nothing left of you
And the man in the back is ready to crack
As he raises his hands to the sky
And the girl in the corner is everyone's mourner
She could kill you with a wink of her eye
Oh yeah! It was electric
So frantically hectic
And the band started leaving
'Cause they all stopped breathing
Yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah-yeah
And the man in the back said, "Everyone attack"
And it turned into a ballroom blitz
And the girl in the corner said, "Boy I want to warn you"
It'll turn into a ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz
Oh yeah! It was like lightning
Everybody was frightening
And the music was soothing
And they all started grooving
Yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah-yeah
And the man in the back said, "Everyone attack"
And it turned into a ballroom blitz
And the girl in the corner said, "Boy I want to warn you"
It'll turn into a ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz, ballroom blitz, ballroom blitz, ballroom blitz
It's, it's a ballroom blitz
It's, it's a ballroom blitz
It's, it's a ballroom blitz
Yeah, it's a ballroom blitz
I remember the day when I told my ex wife that this video was the best three and a half minutes of my life. That’s when she left me.
LOL
* One of thee best "pop-rock" songs ever written by one of the first "glam-rock" bands. LOVE this! 💙🎶🎶🎶
Love The Sweet. Listened to them when they first preformed! there has been renditions of their songs but NOTHING like these boys! Great group!
I love Sweet a long time. ..and I'm so happy when I saw the ballroom blitz hits in the squad suicide. ..finally the youth will know The Sweet!
Everything that makes this legend also applies to Radar Love. That drum shuffle. They shall never grow old.
Put this on at a party, guarantee it gets everyone up dancing and grooving like they are all 17 again. Brilliant track😁😁
This energised me to an ecstatic state when i was ten years old when it was released, it still does. It has some kind of magic.
Me fascina esta canción !!!!! Es de locura !!!!! Brian estupendo ! Que energía y ganas le echaba !!!!... Amo a Sweet !!!!!....
