His performance as the Bull McCabe in The Field (1990) is of biblical proportions and earned him his second Oscar nomination. It must be seen to be appreciated
Richard deserved an Academy Award for The Field. He should have been awarded a few for his work. I think they didn't give it to him 'cause he wasn't an ass kisser and didn't play 'the game'. God knows he was well-deserving. Anyone agree?
I adore Harris. He is so like my wonderful Irish, alcoholic and clever husband. Exciting characters. I think he is very bright so it shows you how useless schools are. His acting is superb.
Pretty sure that jersey he’s wearing is Young Munster RFC from Limerick , he was a Crescent boy though so I guess would have been equally at home in the Old Crescent colours 😁
I think Dumbledore is responsible for Harris never being forgotten by the younger generation (which is what he was most afraid of/angry about), even Children Say "He was the real Dumbledore. Although Personally I first Saw Richard and Oliver in Gladiator and thought they were Unbelievable, most people would remember him from HP.
I hate to tell you that you were right. I never new just how great he was. I only watched him in Unforgiven, The Count of Monte Cristo, and of course Harry Potter
To be fair to Marlon Brando, one of the main reasons he started using cue cards had nothing to do with laziness. He wanted where possible to say lines as if he were saying them for the first time. Actors tend to learn lines as they develop their characters, and the lines often lock in before the characters are fully formed. But Brando wanted to sever the link between the two, so that line readings were naturally spontaneous.
Harris was not only a great actor but a masterful storyteller.
Also insanely humble.
These old school actors, took it to another level of greatness!
There he is....my heart leaps then melts every time I see Richard Harris. Whew....💚💖💕💋❤🇮🇪💞
What an adorable laugh he had, so childlike.
A touch of the Robin Williams about this. A comedian too.

Loved Richard Harris’s performance in ‘The Field’ so much that I’ve bought it on DVD for my home viewing library.
I watch these Richard Harris clips all the time. He's my absolute dream boy. 💞💕💖🎶💋💋💋💋🇮🇪💞🇮🇪💖💋I love him!!!
You will love anything
Mine too.
Whilst all the bravado is fun, his natural talent is astounding.
Ridley Scott made sure that the younger generations will never forget Richard Harris and Oliver Reed
And a few pubs had to close when they went
I love and respect Ridley for that.
Both alcoholics both sexes what a silly comment

What he says about Marlon Brando is known to the public now, but apparantly the audience thinks he is joking
A legend.
He was so humble and full of life!
One of all time great actors, brittant interview .

Disgraceful language
Thanks to covit,i found n inlove to richard harris funny story
We Irish really are the archetypal raconteurs. God bless Harris!
Love the Irish!
Your comment is so true!😊
He correct what he says about actors. Self indulgent. Mixing with others kept him well grounded
Amazing Richard Harris.So typically Irish.💚
Never let the truth get in the way of a good story
Wild child! Friend of Richard Burton Great to party with him I'm sure....
Great interview
The Irish are great story tellers .
The thinking man's Brando, such a sad loss, such wonderful talent.
This implies that Brando wasn't much of a thinker.
@@NxDoyle don't think you've got it
I love the story of Harris defending Sammy Davis. I'm sure he was routinely harassed while performing and was defended rarely.
Richard was prob knew what it was like being Irish them days
Frank Sinatra was the same. Would regularly defend Sammy because of the prejudice the Italian Americans also suffered.
He was very serious about his craft.
He was a real gent
He was hillarious - I didnt know Brando
read his lines as he was filming😂😂😂😂
Thanks for posting.
Harris has a schoolboy laugh! :D
If John Lennon and Richard Harris were to be in a bar I would be very happy to buy them all the liquor to see and hear them talk.
A very honest man!
Only an Irishman can tell stories that well!
All his close friends and his wife Elizabeth called him Harris
Amazing man ❤
An alcoholic
Great storyteller

It was well known that Harris did not get along with Brando when they were filming "Mutiny on the Bounty".
I always loved his nose :)
modern actor not a patch on older masters of the act. richard harris , peter o'toole, michael caine, oliver reed etc etc they were all legends
I agree.

Brando couldn’t remember lines.
Many other people have said the same thing.
And I’m glad that he whacked that guy who was insulting Sammy Davis Jr.

Bollocks
He was a bit lazy as well to be fair
Yes, I think this is near the truth. He was very serious about acting in the early part of his career.
Effective though
That's not what I meant. I am talking about Brando reading his lines behind the camera because he can't remember them
Real talent
Not like so called talent now
