hi tom your patience is something else how you get time to do the video content for us all to follow on what seems a never ending work load . thanks for all the stuff you do it much appreciated 👍
Always remember mate, 3/4 of the worlds surface is covered in water, that few gallon we as plumbers spill on the floor is F all! Lol Great content as always mate, have a good weekend
Tom, I would recommend drilling the air diffuser hole bigger if the boiler keeps locking out. Riallo had a batch where the locking grove was not quite in line with the photocell. You either had to lock the electrodes in place to the side of the grove on the shaft or drill the hole a little bigger. If you are finding coke buildup around the hole check the distance of the head and make sure it's correct. Sometimes the adjustment screw/knob thing? (Found on the copper pipe just under the photocell if memory serves me right) Rotates via vibrations when running. If this seems to be the case tape it in position. Lastly I would check and change the capacitor especially if you find it's started to leak around the terminals. Then again, it could just be a one off lockout like you say. Good luck and keep up the videos!
Thanks for the support, I didn't really go too deep into the boiler as they were under a contract with another company. I was really just checking for safety as I have a duty of care once I've been called to a job. I checked the readings from the last service and they were quite a bit out on the C02. The boiler did appear to burning quite clean though and I just advised the client to get the boiler people back.
Thanks for the support as always mate, I might get there one day, all I can do is keep working as hard as I can, try to keep improving the videos and keep enjoying what I'm doing. I really do enjoy making them and I'm so pleased to be have built such an amazing supportive community
Have to agree..there are some plumbing channels who basically do 3 min vids and influence products for 2mins of that...tom should be at the top....dont understand youtube...
I’ve been watching your videos for a while now Tom without ever commenting. But I feel I need to say your skill set is second to none. You make interesting videos and explain things very clearly. When you get to old for the tools you’d make a great teacher. Well done
Thanks for the support Stuart, I really apprecaite the kind words, I was fortunate to have been taught by a great plumber and I really enjoy passing on some stuff he taught me, have a great weekend
Excellent informative video Tom, really enjoyed watching. As commented earlier surprised you don't have more subscribers as without doubt best plumbing channel on here. Have a good weekend regards A
Thanks for the support mate, I'm sure subscribers will come with time, I just need to focus on making the best content I can, and keep working hard, have a great weekend
Thanks for the support mate, it was just a bad week I think, I do love the job most of the time but there is a lot things people don't always see when they go into the trades
Hi Tom great video as usual, when I started out plumbing in 1979-2000s your jobs take me back, and I cannot get enough of your videos, I love your passion for the trade ,and your saying it is what it is was we all use to say occasionally depending on the job,and your preference for soldering joints over press fit is great as in my day we never had press fit, your channel is by far the best for plumbing and keep up the great work and I will be watching, have a great weekend. Regards Allan
I feel your pain Tom, our planners thinks it only take 5 minutes to travel from job to job lol. Hopefully you have a peaceful weekend. Cheers for all the efforts you put into your channel.👏👏
Great video Tom. Liked and subscribed. I'm no plumber but a keen DIYer who likes to understand why things are where they are etc. What's the purpose of the run offs on the basin hot and cold feeds? Keep up the good work matey.
Thanks for subscribing mate, the drain offs are supposed to be fitted at the low point on a system, you won't really see it much on domestic as know one bothers but as this was light commercial I thought I would do it right
Cheers@@PlumbLikeTom and thanks for taking the time to reply so quickly. I'd seen that on our CH system but not on any basin feeds, so that explains it.
I don't have my van sign written as I like to stay under cover, I don't really talk to much about the business but we have 21 vans on the road now, it's my families company and I only look after the plumbing part
The oil line had a solenoid valve on it next to the filter. Surely the mikrofil interlocks with it? That's why it locked out? Also the microfil should have a PRV if the inlet pressure is over 5 bar. They won't warranty it if it has seen higher pressure. 👍
The Mikrofill wasn't interlocked on this one for some reason, the heating has been leaking a while with the unit constantly faulting but it was the first time the boiler had locked out. The solenoid appeared only be interlocked in with CO alarm and the fire alarm. Thanks for watching mate, it sis greatly appreciated
Me and you both brother, I finished at 12 am last night , trying to explain to people that you can’t just walk off, and leave the people with no hot water and heating !!
Fair point mate, it is ideal to have the tmv as close to the outlet as possible, as the dead leg will require flushing, thanks for watching, have a great weekend
O heck Tom what a week you have had 😯😯 I used to get that .get to the job tools in .then pack up to go to another job .that could have waited to later in the day . Frustrates the he'll out of you 😯😯. Putting some hours in as well Tom .. Hope you had a great relaxing weekend. 👍👍👍👍
Hi Tom, yep I know how you feel when you have worked very long hours, you are tired and you get pulled off one job you are setup on. Then you have to travel and setup again, it’s frustrating especially after a long day. Some nice copper pipe work and soldering there and it all makes for another great film thank you. I hope you have a relaxing weekend, as always take care. 👍👍👍
Thanks for the support as always Chris, the phone always rings at the most inconvenient time, we got it all sorted though and a happy customer which is always the main thing, have a great weekend
It could well be that, they were under contract with a service company so I didn't spend too much time looking, I just made sure everything was safe as I have a duty of care once I've touched it, thanks for the support as always mate
Hopefully you are relaxing Tom you definitely have earned your relaxing time enjoy , nice work even if it’s never too be seen again 👍👍👍👍just going too finish putting my Concealed cistern tank to the wall and hopefully no leaks should be done by 9 pm😂 😂
As usual another great video it's tough when you have to work long hours and then get the office calling to just nip off somewhere else as though it was not a problem I had a boss a few year ago is two favourite words were nip and pop even if the job was 2hours drive away 😀 😂 look forward to the next video.
My old boss was like that as well, I swear he would not ring you until he knew you would be leaving for home, just so you didn't leave early to go to the job, have a great weekend Mick
Love watching your videos mate feel like I’ve been in your position a few times this job can get to you at times proper grafter though hope they pay you well ! 💪🏻
Nothing worse than getting sorted on a job and the dreaded phone rings , it was a real pet hate of mine, time wasted always struggled with it to be honest Tom, great vid as always, take care mate and enjoy the weekend if you’re having a break. 🚽👍
Thanks for the support as always Peter, my old mate who taught me said it was worse when he had a pager, you couldn't respond back until you found a phone box, one day the pager ended up a river he got the annoyed with it going off, have a great weekend
Great Vid mate. I think its the universe having a laugh ---- why do easy 5 minuet jobs take 8 hours, and jobs that you just know are going to be a pain in the harris end up being easy and hardly take any time at all!!!! Keep up the great work and videos 🙂
You are probably right mate, I didn't go into too deep as they have a contract with another company, I was just really checking for safety, have a great weekend
Just one of those days... I like those double 15mm clips, who makes those? I usually use the talon ones clipped together but it can make the pipes a bit too close for tees etc.
Thanks for the support as always Martin, I'm not sure who makes those clips, like you say the talon "clip" together ones space the pipes to closely together, I get but these from my local supplier, have a great weekend
It depends on a few factors, I use mapp gas which gets hotter faster, you can normally tell when the flame goes slightly green, the fitting is at the right temperature, it does take practice but once you have done a few it is easy, remember getting the fitting too hot is as bad as too cold as it will burn the flux
I would love to get the contract, I employ a service engineer who I keep busy all the time but It's always nice to get new customers, thanks for watching as always Neil
In principle they are more or less the same thing, accumulators tend to be much larger as they need to be sized depending on the demand where as an expansion vessel is just to take up expanding, you can get pumped accumulators which boost the pressure up. You must fit a check valve on an accumulator to stop the water going back into the water main. Hope this helps, thanks for watching
You're really selling this career change I'm making😂. Some days/jobs just go to pot dont they. Dont forget to look after yourself too though bud. Burn outs no fun.

You need chill pal you do to much your a great guy your work is fab but you be in a early grave so do what you have to turn phone off have you time go down the pub n chill .all your vids are amazing you are one skilled man bit scruffy but the jobs are perfect
You're some man Tom, working until 1 in the morning, chasing your arse all week and still find time to do a video for us. Take care please. 😊
Thanks for the support as always Hugh, I used to able to do it and not feel it, I must be getting old, have a great weekend

I like that Gary, I always say water is just a plumbers sawdust, joiners seem to get enough of it about, thanks for watching mate

hi when you are soldering an elbow how many seconds do you wait till you put the solder on after heating the fitting?
