I love how at this point in the series, X truly is an Ace. He is highly proficient, well known, and well respected. I love the determination, confidence, and drive that X shows in X5 and X6. Similar to how Zero in the early Zero games has a foggy memory and is somewhat dull and soft, but by Zero 3 and especially Zero 4, he's sharp as a razor and remembers EVERYTHING from the Maverick wars, and regains his personality at that point.
Good example of terrible stage design First half of the level encourages the Shadow Armour to deal with the spikes Second half of the stage has a jump that REQUIRES the Air Dash, which makes the stage IMPOSSIBLE as Shadow Armour X and Normal X
It doesn't matter on hindsight. It was hard, but not impossible. In fact, it was challenging in a sense that you KNOW you can pass the stage, but you always make that one mistake that sends you back to square one. However, it did force you to literally rely on muscle memory and pattern recognition not unlike Dark Souls.

I had this same argument before about "no damage" on an acid rain stage. It's physically impossible not to take damage here, the acid rain depleted your lifebar. You're still a far better player than most despite that.
Isaac should have been the final boss. Fuck this Sigma, I swear. He is a GREAT villain, don't get me wrong, but it gets annoying seeing Sigma and Ganondorf hijack game after game after game. At some point, they stop being great and just become incompetent when done wrong like this. Sigma didn't deserve to be reduced to this and MMX6 honestly deserved a different a final boss.
Soraroxas 84 these generally take 3-4 days to perfect. i first go through the stage scouting everything out, this means memorizing where every single enemy is, no exceptions. ill probably run a stage 6-7 times just scouting, and taking my time. in my head, i break down the stages into sections and then attempt to perfect each section one at a time. the sections i break down according to enemy placement and shit like that. perfecting the entire stage is a huge task, but seems somehow more manageable when its in sections in my head. it will take a few days to get the stage down to where i can run it nearly perfectly, with a few hits here and there. once im at that point, ill start on the boss. then its just repetition with the boss...over and over and over. once i got the boss down. ill start recording and attempt full runs, which usually takes a day of attempts.

its insanely chaotic, and honestly, its a clusterfck (see vid description lol). all the gates lab stages are. i feel ya, it was extremely irritating and took a lot of time to do this. X6 was my least favorite of the series, dont blame ya for ditching this stage.
The hell is it with everything in this game looking like the abstract cover of a vaporwave album? The perspective angle of the floors didn't match character sprites, the background didn't feel congruous with the foreground at all, and there were tons of enemies that looked like prerendered 80s CGI.
This game's surrealist backgrounds have captured my imagination since I was a kid. Its deliberate, since the theme of the game from the get-go is the Nightmare warping space and perception thereof. The pre-rendered cg in combination with the palette really aides this affect, giving everything a misty dream-like quality, which fits. I wouldn't call it timeless, but hey I like it. The enemy sprites on the other hand...are really hit or miss.
I always wondered what that music during gate's boss was for when J and Exo played it in their reviews of mega man x6 and sonic unleashed respectively. I never knew that it was gate's boss music
Ah High Max he seemed much easier to fight here with X than with Zero but that still does not change the fact that his health is so high he takes soo many hits. Eh no trash compactors on the 2nd half of this Gates stage? instead you get nightmare rain? odd I always get the trash compactors and sometimes nightmare rain combined with it is the setup character based? maybe it is because I used Zero there.Aah Gate he is one of the coolest villains in the series I wish he didn`t die the way he did he was just so awesome and the game leaves his fate unknown at the end although I like to think Alia fixed and restored him to his normal self afterwards.

No skill required: with falcon just stand under max take a hit if need be with shock absorber, then shoot him after high max expels his armor. Then hit him with magma blade. I had to refill once. Easy peasy
Now I feel ashamed for abusing nova strike to get through this stage, nice way of positioning your character and utilizing every frame you had for agility, and man you sure have a thumb that works like you had 3 of them by holding down the square button to charge up your shots and simultaneously dashing and jumping with the X and circle buttons. Subscribed. =D
in mega man x6, it wasn't a surprise that sigma was again the final boss but it was a surprise that he really wasn't the main villain this time. instead, it was gate, like gate never got manipulated by sigma.

Very nice. I've always had problems with those red spheres too during Gate's fight. More often than not, it makes the game fail to detect half my inputs, leading me to fall to my death. Lots of close calls there, but great work getting past this projectile-heavy stage and Gate with no damage!
Ze Bug thanks, and yeah i really dont understand why those red spheres slow framerate, cause lag, and slows input detection like you said. unless its intentional, since each different colored sphere has a unique attack. its just strange, doesnt make sense.
the jumper part is equipped here. and honestly i cant remember if i had the quick charge chip. no other chips/parts equipped for sure. so jumper definitely, quick charge maybe, no others.
I did, but the stage with GATE seemed impossible at the time, especially because you need to be able to slide down the wall to do a good jump or dash. Can't remember.
ZAV1010 hehe. blaze heatnix stage is enough to drive anyone away from this game. i still have nightmares about that stage and those damn snake mechaniloids. yeah and some people claim it's their favorite...best X stage ever!
lol. I think the design goals for X6 were to make the game redundant and overly difficult to complete. They succeeded. I like the rest of the Mega Man games though.
