    I see the Canada plates, Wisconsin here, I just got a 2023 F150 Powerboost SuperCrew hybrid Lariat. Just shy of 1000 miles on it(had to drive it to my sister's house in Indiana to help with spring prep, got home safe with no chips I think) dropped it off for the ceramic coating and poly film protection today. I got the 7200 watt upgrade and am getting a transfer switch installed to use it as a whole home generator. This truck is so sweet I can't even begin to tell you.

      Just finishing the video you said 6 figure price tag wow. MSRP on my Lariat was $75k and it has a lot more features than this truck.

    Great review Justin. Had a 2021 F150 Platinum 3.5L and now have a 2022 Limited Powerboost for 13 months. Has the work station console, 7.2kw generator as well a lay flat seats. The lay flat seats have a bit firmer more comfortable support as well as the shoulder support that I find better for me personally. I now have a 2023 F150 Lariat for work as well but would never trade the Limited Powerboost for anything else in the lineup. My wife and I absolutely love the Limited Powerboost. I never worry about gas mileage...it's fun to drive and it is what it is..lol!! Afterall it is a 4x4 pickup.....I live in NW Alberta where we see lots of snow and -20 to -40 is a common occurrence in the winter here.

      7000 watt generator? Wow that could power a welder. I knew it had a gen set but I never expected it to be so powerful.

      They’ve (Ford) had been playing around with this tech for what, over a decade now, the Hybrid Fusion…which my 2018 has full EV capability, with the ability to use the EV motor to assist, and on longer trips, can average 4.8-5.2 litres/100, works pretty damn good imho, and pending your circumstances, some are reporting 2.3 litres/100…their travel is approx 42-45km each way to work.
      ….personally, throughout the Spring-Fall months get approx 25km on full EV …now with temps in -10-17c as of late, and a decent amount of snow fall, I’ve noticed a 5-7km loss in range, but, I am also running heated seats, steering wheel, some rear defrost, wipers and of course cabin heat….so, as long as I can plug in to any outside wall plug…I can drive back and forth to work all week, and not use a drop of fuel.
      So, it’s a head scratcher Ford seems to be taking 2 steps backwards…It’s not as if they didn’t have the room for a little bigger battery and a plug-in port 😂 …with a $20-$25K price premium…this is imho, not having the ability to choose full EV is deal breaker…
      I’ve also had an opportunity to drive the Lightening, though only an hour, is was no doubt nice to drive, lots of power….but the battery drain is significant…from a full charge…lost 17% of the battery 🪫 Cool truck but again…the prices are insane.

    Really nice review. Taking delivery of a an XLT Powerboost tomorrow. It will be fun to see its functionality over the luxury of the Limited. It’s marked down over 12k here in the states now, only paying 56k us. Main options, 7.2kw, 4x, mid tow. I’ve always been a fairly lean xlt guy, and this still seems like a pricey truck to me.

    I would love to see a 5 kw power pack with plug in charging. Instead of the 3.5 eco.. I’d like an option for the 2.7 eco boost. To help reduce weight, I’d like to see ford use composites in the frame and if possible body. I believe composites could be used on the hood, bed etc.
    An f-150 with the 2.7 and weight reduction efforts combined with a 5 KW battery should way about the same as the current Powerboost.
    With a 5kw battery, you should get 10 miles battery only or increase mileage to 28-30 mpg over a 100 -150 mile range.

    Another great review. I saw our GMC Yukon AT4 videos a few years ago which were also good. A question. How would you compare the ability for this F150 Powerboost compared to the Yukon AT4 in cold snowy ski country weather, on road mostly, but also the occasional dirt road or dirt parking lot, in terms of performance and road handling and handling the slippery snow roads and such? I've been going back and forth between getting a full size suv or a pick up, either fully loaded, in my case, one of the Yukons or the F150 Platinum, likely with Powerboost. I"m looking for a go anywhere, any time, any kind of weather vehicle, luxury and smooth and quiet too, but winter weather and roads are my biggest concern. If you have any thoughts, thanks.

    Ford really needs to put that engine in the Tremor.

  • @Nate-zy5ce
    @Nate-zy5ce 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Do you think the Raptor would handle those rougher back roads better than the Tremor or Platinum/Ultimate powerboost does, be smoother and quieter? Highways too? Bad snow weather? Thanks.

    • @JustinPritchard
      @JustinPritchard  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      300 percent!!
      With the Fox dampers in the Raptor, you could (and I'm not exaggerating), sip a hot coffee driving at a much higher speed over those same surfaces and not spill.
      It's a highly specialized setup, in my opinion, a light-year ahead of the conventional suspension you'll find in the other models. The actual dampers themselves are a completely different design. The body is more stable more of the time, the suspension travel is much more generous, also, more precisely controlled. It's magical. Tougher construction / tires = quieter and softer. It's actually hilarious how fast you can cover very very rough ground.
      Major difference vs Tremor / Platinum. Much more driver workload to control these machines on rough surfaces, even at much lower speeds.
      Highways, I'd expect the Raptor to be louder and thirstier, but haven't driven one in ages.
      In winter, with a good set of dedicated winter rubber, it would be an absolute beast.
      When it comes to the ride quality, I've had similar experiences with other specialized models you may like:
      Ram TRX
      GMC Yukon AT4
      Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro (2018 ish)
      GM Colorado ZR2
      Specialized suspension takes 98 percent out of the 'bite' of the backroads ride. Love it!

    • @Nate-zy5ce
      @Nate-zy5ce 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great reply. Thanks so much. A follow up question or two. The standard Raptor has 35's, and there is the 37 performance package option that comes with larger 37 tires and additional modification to the suspension, which if I understand it correctly, dampens both ways, up and down. Does all that you say apply to the standard 35 Raptor? How might it be different with the 37 package? In terms of smooth quiet ride on those back roads but also highways. I do understand that the 37 eats more gas, and is tougher turning. Thanks. And I saw your AT4 vids, those were great. I was thinking I could get a 2025 Yukon AT4 when it comes out, b/c apparently the 2025 Yukons will finally be getting some additional padding in the seats, but I'm concerned about how low and how far into the center line from the rear wheels that independent rear suspension set up goes, makes for a smooth drive on reasonable roads apparently, but despite where they apparently measure the minimum road clearance to come up with their 8" standard height before air adjusting, that mechanism inside of the rear wheels just hangs too low too far into the center for my taste, seems potentially problematic.@@JustinPritchard

Wake up buddy and stop being sucked in by the bells and whistles that will fail electronically soon enough. I’ve owned F150’s for years and my current 2021 wii not be replaced with another Ford. What good is the fuel savings on these overpriced computer laden turds when the crappy engines and transmissions fail at 5 years ? Garbage
