It's had an enormous impact on my diet and overall well being. I often substitute it for rice, pasta. For breakfast I love it with blueberries and yoghurt. And Maple Syrup (I'm Canadian, sorry lol).
Even just tonight I'm sauteeing some Argentinian Shrimp, Broccoli and you guessed it.
Quinoa is extremely versatile and whilst retaining its own identity it 'plays well with others'. It's enormously satisfying.

I have a master blend. Sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, Flax seeds, sesame seeds, desiccated coconut and quinoa. Add to Oats, cinnamon, tsp of honey, sprinkle of mixed nuts and some blueberries and raspberries to top it off.
What I like about this is that I make it with water so I'm getting hydrated too.
I'd recommend you drink a small glass of water before hand so it all goes down well. And chew well. That's a good start to a morning.

I love the texture of quinoa, it is a little crunchy. The taste is mild enough where it can be a replacement for cereal, add fruit and nuts for breakfast, or of course a savory dish. I am vegan, was told I should eat 250 mg DHA a day, which is 1/4 gram. I believe that something like two tablespoons of cooked quinoa contain that much DHA. In any case it is a great food. Peace

For how long should the quinoa be soaked before cooking? 30 minutes? One hour?

Hugo Damien Pastor, Based on everything I've read and other videos of recipes, I either soak it 30-60 minutes for immediate use or overnight, then strain it well before preparing it. There are some excellent recipes here on TH-cam. Hope that helps.

@@antoinettejohnson6251 Hi Antoinette. You wrote that "for immediate use" you soak quinoa for 30-60 minutes. Do you understand the meaning "Immediate" ??? It means sth. done quickly and definitely not for your suggested time! Be precise, please. You can rinse just under the running tap water for at least 1 minute and the job is done. You can soak in the water for 3-5 minutes. I do see the benefits of soaking quinoa for 30-60 minutes or even worse for overnight.
