these kids that show up to these big FNO's on their first night on VATSIM, never fails
its amazing comedy, but horrible for the controllers health 🤣
Yeah entertaining, isn't it? Couch potato.
I was one of those kids a few years ago, but thankfully I chose a quiet airport with maybe 2 other planes. Basically had to be handheld through my clearance and my push and taxi. Can't imagine that same experience with 100+ planes at the same airport as me 😭. Luckily, I've learned a lot and am going to UND to go to flight school in the Fall!
@@Mis-fe9fcexactly how us controllers want you to do it, we are all happy to help you when its not busy!
@@sirrudy1233 I’ve introduced a new people to VATSIM, and I always tell them to start off with that strategy (start at a quiet airport, work your way up). Soon enough, we do an FNO together without any trouble. never fails.
Honestly, incredibly chill ATC. I had an ATC that was angrier than this at ME because I called for taxi and he said, "[callsign] I'll call back" then about 5 minutes later with 3 planes to my right, he called back saying "[callsign] you've been sitting there a while I need you to go you're holding up 3 airplanes, if you don't know what you're doing just disconnect."
If he was in the UK he’d soo get shouted at. If he was in Germany bro would get shot😂😂
Yeah In hindsight I really should’ve chimed in and told him you asked for taxi he had no right to be that hostile especially since he was the one who forgot
@@theamazingspy3179 how do people from the discord keep finding my comments lmao
“you’re kinda already here” LMAO love the content keep it up
Thanks a lot.
I'm someone who's a much slower learner when it comes to things like ATC calls, especially on VATSIM. Even though I've been on the platform for a year now, I've typically preferred to either use text when I'm feeling really uncomfortable, or I'll fly in a controlled airspace with less traffic, as I understand that there can be several occasions where things are too busy and chaotic for someone to handle a mistake I made or a misunderstanding. Once I finally understand all the ropes, then I'll fly somewhere busy with ATC. If all else fails, just disconnect.
Yesterday, I was flying out of Denver where there were only a couple planes while App/Dep was on. He was very patient with me and helped me out with the RNAV callout during my takeoff clearance. So, I really appreciate all the VATSIM controllers out there.
As someone with over a thousand hours as ATC in one of the busiest airspaces on VATSIM, it blows my mind how some people just expect us to deal with this shit every day and keep being defensive for people who OBVIOUSLY BREAK THE RULES. Read the VATSIM Code of Conduct guys.
So if a pilot breaks the rules ATC is at fault for getting mad or laughing about them. If ATC logs off because of that, people complain because having ATC is kinda the purpose of VATSIM.
I often hear pilots complain about ATC not doing their job properly when they forget people, issue clearances that lead to conflicts etc. Simple, honest mistakes that happen to everyone.
But when a pilot can't follow a basic instruction, doesn't know how an IFR clearance works and keeps having "autopilot issues" due to user error cause he couldnt bother watching a 5 minute tutorial, we can't complain?
Seems a bit unfair.
I want to have fun controlling virtual planes. That is my hobby. Just like others enjoy flying their virtual planes and being controlled by human ATC
The difference is about 2 years worth of training i had to go through to get to this point versus a 10 minute multiple choice test for pilots.
Somehow VATSIM and many of its members and outsiders tend to be on the pilots side, just because its the majority. But they keep forgetting the VOLUNTEER controllers who make VATSIM what it is, and the fact that they also do this for free, as a hobby. Some people just give a shit and it's those people who jump straight in with no knowledge or the people who defend them, that piss me off.
I am not saying every newbie pilot is stupid. There is a difference between being genuinely curious and willing to learn, and just not caring about anyone around you using "sorry i am new" as an excuse for mistakes without the intention of ever spending more than the absolute minimum time necessary on learning.
Thats why i also disagree on the "everyone was a newbie" part.
We all were new to VATSIM and nobody is perfect, even less so on their first day, but many of the people who have been here longer have made sure to learn a lot before feeling ready to go onto the network. My "first flight" 6 years ago was pretty uneventful. Besides taxiing the wrong way because i was nervous nothing happened.
I was well prepared with phraseology, procedures, charts and pen/paper. I had my aircraft under control, and besides one or two "say again"s i had no issues reading back and following their instructions.
Of course i didn't know every little detail, but whatever i was missing, usually just minor things and rare special cases , i wrote down and did some research or asked about it.
These days more and more overconfiedent teenagers with the attention span of a potato just jump straight into a busy event at Heathrow, Frankfurt or New York immediately after getting MSFS and ruin the fun for everyone else by not knowing the basics of anything, and making the same simple mistakes over and over and over and over again without learning from it until a supervisor yells at them.
This behavior is what i do consider stupid and definitely not fitting for such a community.
Rant over.
I hope you feel better. 😄
Im a pilot on vatsim with I think 500 ish hours on the network and I FULLY back you up on this. Controllers shouldn’t be expected to have to just deal with people that don’t know what they’re doing on the network. Regardless of if their 12 or 30, you shouldn’t be on the network unless if you’re familiar with your plane and air traffic procedures.
it’s a game and not real life, let them learn. You are a Karan bro. You are probably close to death and in your 50-60s so enjoy being a Karan for the few years on earth you have left.
Also you have no life imagine sitting home alone pretending to be an air traffic controller 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@wwerty234 well, you get mad over a simple TH-cam comment and the fact that other people have things in life that they enjoy.
Who has no life now?
Oh, by the way. I am neither home alone all day, nor a "Karen" and by far not even close to my 50s. I have a good amount of close friends and several really enjoyable hobbies, one of which is VATSIM. I got my pilots license at 16 years old and work within the aviation sector and Air Traffic Control.
No need to assume stuff you don't know.
Just let people enjoy what they have fun doing.
so many people join the network without doing a single bit of homework on phraseology and procedures. literally had someone join manchester which is a fairly big airport and ask for push and start before even getting ifr clearence. when they finally got their ifr and push clearence they just taxi'd to runway 23R which was the arrival runway lol. i do think controllers should have the pwer to boot people from the network if its obvious they havent got a clue what they are doing.
Wish we can hear it just hear you laughing
i think him laughing makes it 10x better
This is why you read the VATSIM documents, watch videos before hopping on. The ATC CAN help you but he CAN'T help you every single second just to shift his focus from the whole airspace to a single pilot who can't even file a flight plan properly..
Frustrated, you said everything 😂
Its sooo true ..... idiots should be banned for ever unless they can prove that they can meet a higher standard but noo.... vatsim prefers to have more users over less and more qualified ones
It’s. A game buddy
@@crazygamingyt7245 what point are you trying to prove...?
@@andrzejewscy4576 That it's a game? And the point of a game is to have fun? Now, I don't even feel like using VATSIM anymore. This channel is worthless.
@@crazygamingyt7245 True.
@@SN57ONE You misunderstood my comment a bit, i meant why he said that when the original commenter was frustrated with the bad ATC. Sorry if i worded myself wrong :)
Poor kids doing there first few flights on Vatsim just to be encountered by some asshole arrogant ATC, kinda sad but hilarious aswell XD
I don’t get what the pilot did wrong? The guy at 1:38
controller said he submitted a flight plan with fixes and waypoints, and said his equipment code is "slant alpha" (/A). /A means the plane he's flying has DME-only navigation. His flight plan is invalid based on his equipment code. he also is trying to fly out of a class bravo airspace without a clearance, which is also not correct. The equipment code is a simple mistake... ATC said he filed an A320, which is most likely /L... simple mistake.
@@JonGaled It was more sad when the pilot filed a FLT PLN with his from and to destination flipped 😂
