As an airline guy I’ve always been fairly impressed with the mostly standard phraseology of those playing ATC. Of course a lot of the pilots in VATSIM I’ve seen also struggle with the basics but that’s to be expected. Seems like it be fun to try out.
Seeing the problem between the pilot and the ATC in the first minutes, I assume that missing navaids and incorrect approach/depart patterns is a regular occation if you are not running a paid Navigraph NavData with a matching SimBrief AIRAC cycle plan, and you are programming the whatever approach using the default msfs nav data. Assuming you don't have access to charts as well (didn't find any via Google Search and you don't have a navigraph chart sub), is this a regular thing that you'll get scoulded by the VATSIM ATC for calling out a missing nav point? The pilot had the wrong vibe going while calling out "unable", but I get their position.
You're probably right about the first part. But at least for any US flying, all up to date charts are publicly available (by the FAA, and hosted for easy use on skyvector for example) so not many excuses to have the wrong charts. Though I can see it becoming an issue if they don't have the right procedures loaded into the sim GPS/FMS which just having the up to date charts might not help with the actual procedure flying.

Not gonna lie, that landing in the 747 was pretty good even though you were below the glodeslipe a bit. Now I'm going to go mention a small trick I learned when landing the 747. I hope this could make future landing a little smoother! ;)
The IJN Musashi was the second of the two Yamato class battleships built for the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) during world war Two. Unlike her Yamato counterpart Musashi lacked the 4 inch tertiary guns that the Yamato had and instead had 4 turrets of 6 Inch guns instead of only 2 like on the Yamato. Musashi also had less Anti Air guns than the Yamato, though she still had AA (Anti Air) guns, she had far less of them. Musashi and Yamato both supported 9 main guns (3 on 3 turrets) of 18 inch (460mm) diameter shells and 6 inch (155mm) secondary guns, though the Yamato only had 6 of these. The Musashi had a top speed of 27.5 knots and a range of 7,200 nautical miles at 16 knots. Musashi and Yamato were both powered by Kanpon Water-tube boilers with a total power 150,000 shp (Shaft Horsepower). While the Yamato was the more famous of these battleships, the Musashi was designed as the flagship of the IJN fleet. The Musashi happens to be my favorite battleship due to its sheer firepower and ability to withstand significant blows and still stay afloat, the Yamato however, does also have a lot of firepower too but it has slightly less due to it having less 6 inch secondary guns. Both Musashi and Yamato had 16 inch Armour covering the hull and several parts on the ship. Sadly the Musashi was sunk during the battle of Leyte Gulf on October 24th, 1944.

The 208 is a good aircraft to fly at the beginning, it's pretty forgiving, built like a tank, and the stock version has a G1000. When you start with airliners, I'd strongly recommend the FlyByWire A32NX mod over the stock A320 as it allows you to pull a SimBrief flightplan right into the FMS. The Airbus is also really easy to learn how to fly and the autothrottle and autopilot systems are pretty quick to learn. I'd recommend P Gatcombs channel for quick vids on how to use both the G1000 and airliner systems.

Not gonna lie, that landing in the 747 was pretty good even though you were below the glodeslipe a bit. Now I'm going to go mention a small trick I learned when landing the 747. When you're on approach, make sure you see three whites and one red on the PAPI lights. This is slight correction is for the 747 since the flightdeck is slightly elevated.
Another entertaining video with VATSIM. Ya, a little impatience on the departure, but cool ATC on arrival! Always great to see the airport lights at night! Great flight. Blue skies!
To whosoever reads this (including AFP95 himself...) thanks to all of your vids and comments I got into the Flight Sim community, I started flying Cessnas this week, hoping to do some commerical flights once I'm familiar w/everything regarding aviation.
Thank you very much for your kindness in VATSIM. God bless!
2:16 "we're on a quick cocaine run- i mean cargo run"
I can't stop laughing at that
Loving the Microsoft Fruit Simulator content as usual
TH-cam randomly showed me this video (I guess because I recently watched a MSFS video). I had no idea about there being a whole community of people acting as ATC operators and stuff, this is mind-blowing stuff for someone who just plays super casually on an Xbox gamepad lol. Great video!
I wish it was actually possible to join as an ATC but the waiting lists are literally years long
It took my 3.5 years and COVID didn't help anything. If you want to be a controller, just apply and go through the process. You can back if if you change your mind.
Good to see you around. Enjoy the fun messing around videos.
AFP95 hates Slew mode and Slew mode hates him
AFP95 isn't just hearing beef
He's having beef with the slew mode
How do you activate slew mode , if you don’t mind me asking?
Slew in MSFS is pretty janky, in all fairness
@@kyle734 you have to assign a command
Worst. Haiku. Ever.
@@bigmo611 I didn't expect myself making a haiku
I don't know what it is about AFP videos, like I never thought I would be interested in Flight Sim videos but damn man, every video is a delight to watch! Keep up the amazing content!
“Quick Cocain- sorry cargo run”
dude that was cool. I have a friend who loves MFS but i never knew it was this realistic among its player base. Super cool
So you're the reason my virtual UPS package was absolutely smashed to hell...
You owe me a new imaginary Hunky Hector Mexican Love Doll. >:(
Professionalism & hilarity. Spawned truck @90mph LOLOLOL how did I miss this channel. SUBSCRIBED.
Man i wish the old trolling stuff was back
I am glad you nailed your "glodeslipe" mister Airforceproud.
How does someone "learn" Flight Sim well enough to participate in server environments like this? I've never played but it seems rather interesting. Are there solid tutorials to go with?
I think you literally just have to know how to be a pilot lmao
I was thinking the same thing. I don't want to try it out and have a bunch of dorks talking shit.
@@chazmichaelmichaels88 You don't? And those "bunch of dorks" are the ones you just watched a video of. It's because of those "bunch of dorks" that you even know what this is like. So how about you watch how you talk about people.
@@Dyanosis msfs videos have been on the internet for years and years, I give zero credit to these "dorks".
A-rank: 1 Death
An unnamed Colombian man in a white leisure suit, smoking a cigar with aviators on was shot multiple times in the chest in the cargo bay. A crate of powdered sugar was left unaccounted for once landing in LA. That however does not affect your rank.
Nice flying captain 👍🏻
Good job holding that licalozer and glodeslipe. Solid job!
This is incredible, how do you get into this?
@@WizardFrogASMR lmao does everyone at airline school play this I take it?
@@-BL1NKY probably i mean sh its a good way to make sure yk what u doing
@@-BL1NKY Check out the various vatsim communities and flying groups.
That was some insane comms from everyone on the net. Man I love simulators like this.
No high speed hot air balloon fly bys? Meh 😕 sad
I live in Phoenix, and the cargo ramp's on the south side of the KPHX, along a section of I-10 and I-17. Can confirm UPS aircraft dry humping the warehouses is a thing.
Microsoft fruit simulator looks fricking good
Videos like these make me super excited for the opportunity I'm getting to learn to fly a small airplane next week. I can't wait! Thanks for the inspiration!
It’s about time for another weird/mean comment video NOW!
This is the only game that I could watch for hours. Especially when everyone works together. Great video.

@@Airforceproud95 hi
@@Airforceproud95 nice vids (:
Hats off to the LA control they rocked it
I bet ATC controllers wish they had that power. “You can fly heading 040 or disconnect, your choice.”
Big fan for many years here. Awesome video. Appreciate it. One friendly tip (sorry, admittedly pet peeve of mine), “Oh” is not a number. Zero is. So you were UPS Seven Zero Five. That said, thanks for the video! So glad I saw it!
Hahaha i love your short wierdness combined with being a pro! On top of that see your merch "gear up" made me burst into laugh XD Thats one way you dont want too see your UPS being delivered! XD
That's true to reality for LAX. According to one of the real ATCs (Later Tater), the inbound traffic can reach all the way to the state line. You can see a trail of lights that actually outline the glide slope on a clear night. It's nuts.
Ah man, definitely one of my favorite youtubers is back with another great one! Keep em coming! Gear up!
Great video bro awsome professionalism from the ATC, i could watch this all day!
I love listening to this argument and having no idea who’s in the wrong
